6 stars if I could based on the service. Everyone who works here is SO nice!! I was meeting someone for dinner and was early. I was able to grab a seat and read while I waited which was nice. We sat on the little patio area since it was quieter than inside and the mall wasn't too busy. I had the jallab lemonade which was really nice. A perfect balance of sweet and tartness. I usually don't love rose flavour but this combination is really good. They had a prix fix menu which included 3 dishes for I think $38. We tried the mezzes sampler and eggplant starters, both got the chicken tawouk, and tried the baklava and kaffna for dessert. We had to move tables for a reservation and as a thank you they offered us a bonus dessert and tea. Wow! If I wasn't already sold on coming back, this guaranteed it. Everything was delicious and service was wonderful. Really a delightful experience.
I find Tabule owes a lot of its popularity to its convenient location inside of Bayview Village. It's got a comfortable ambiance and can be a nice place to swing by for lunch amidst a leisurely day of shopping. Their menu prices are on the higher side for Middle Eastern food but I figure they've already done the math and are taking full advantage of the fact that price isn't really an issue for most patrons that frequent Bayview Village. My table ordered several dishes to share (a sampler platter containing babaganuj, hummus, and labni, a falafel dinner, a tawuk/chicken breast dinner, and a lahmeh/veal dinner). Heftier price aside, I thought the food was pretty decent, with the standout dish being the falafel which was crunchy on the outside and nicely spiced and soft on the inside. Their standard coffee was also quite smooth and we were offered complimentary refills during our stay. Now the part where I have to call them out - the chicken breast skewer they served us was undercooked. The centers were still pink and had that "bouncy" raw texture. I was deeply offended by this due to the fact that I was pregnant. They took the dish back to the kitchen and remade it for us, which is the bare minimum that any restaurant could do but we weren't really offered any sincere apology or compensation which didn't feel customer-centered. Outside of my personal circumstances, I still find it off-putting for a restaurant of this price point to serve undercooked chicken so I don't think I can give them anything more than 2 stars.
Every visit to Tabule has been a pleasant experience. Whether dining at Tabule downtown or uptown, the level of hospitality and service has always been consistent and the dishes have always proven to be delicious. On this particular occasion the food selection was excellent. Although all the choices were equally good, we chose to partake in an appetizer selection of halloumi salad served on arugula with a pomegranate salad dressing, along with a mezze sampler that included the most crunchy, crispy falafels* which were very tasty, baba ghanouj, tabule with hummus. For our mains we ordered the chicken tawuk with salad and rice, along with the juicy succulent kefta burger served with akaawi cheese on a brioche bun accompanied by zaatar fries. The zaatar was too subtle in contrast with the very flavourful lamb burger. We topped off the meal with desserts of rice pudding which was made with rose water, raisins, pistachios and cinnamon, however we perceived a strong coconut and a strong cinnamon taste which overpowered the subtle rosewater flavour. It was still quite good and edible. The baklava filo pastry was small yet dense and tasty consisting of rich pistachio, walnuts, and cashews drizzled with syrup. Service was punctual, polite and entertaining. Our servers entertained us with a fantastic show of pouring our waters defying gravity. It felt like watching a magic trick. It was a great dining experience and a worthwhile visit.
3.5 rounding up to a 4 overall. Food: 5/5, especially their burgers. Ambience: 5/5, perfect light level, interesting decor. Service: 2/5 from our particular server. My sister and I decided to have lunch here after visiting Hammam Spa in the mall (per that review, stay far away from there.) They still had their Winterlicious menu in effect. I went for the burger option, which included dessert. My sister went for the roast cauliflower. At first, service was decent, our orders were taken and water dramatically poured from glass flask decanters. Our food did not take too long to arrive. The cauliflower was nicely roasted with a delicious sauce accompaniment. The burger was possibly the best burger I have ever had - charcoal crust, not overcooked, and the juicy mince was out of this world. The grind was on the coarse side and super flavourful. Hands down the best item on the menu. The dips and breads were fresh and well done. The dessert was a bit of a disappointment, a tiny little square of plain baklava that looked like a surviving straggler came out of the pan. Tasted alright. We didn't see our server again although we witnessed her moving around the room. Someone else came to present our bill and check us out. I really enjoyed the neat photography used to decorate the walls, photos of ships and odd naval views. The seating was comfy and the noise from the mall is well warded off. I will be dreaming of that burger again and again!
Fantastic find in the Bayview shopping center. Prices are a bit high, but the food is really delicious and I'd 100% like to come back again soon. I wasn't too hungry when we came so I had ordered the lentil soup. It's so homey and comforting. I also ordered the warak enab which. was far too oily for me to eat unfortunately. Not having tried this dish before, I can't honestly say if it was good. I know my stomach wasn't able to handle the oil though so I had to pass on this order. We also ordered a trio started and selected hummus, taboule, and the labni (I may have misspelled it.. It's the yogurt dip). All 3 were absolutely delish and we needed more pita bread to eat it all up. Would definitely recommend trying a trio so you can get a bit of everything. My bf ordered the lamb and rice which was wonderful. Lamb was cooked perfectly and still juicy and flavourful. Over that bed of rice and roasted veggies - it was lovely. Think umami and caramelized flavours. Oh and the honey cardamom latte was so good. I am craving that constantly! The service was fantastic. They had a party going on so we were given the option to sit inside or at the mall patio. We opted for patio so it would be quieter and the server always made sure to come out and check on us periodically. She was so efficient and very friendly to make honest recommendations. Truly amazing service from start to finish. 100% would be back and recommend others to give it a try!
Well-decorated venue. Suiting of Bayview Village Shops. The way they pour their water is fun! Went for their summerlicious menu, and it was super tasty. Went with a party of 6, so we were able to try all of it. Food and service was quick. Lentil soup was tasty. Hallum salad would be my go-to, only cause I love hallum cheese and arugula. Cauliflower is well fried with a tasty tahini sauce on top. The combination plate has a bit of everything and will give you the usual middle eastern fares, and the falafel is nice and crispy (just a note that the babaganuj has a taste of olives for those lovers/haters). The tawuk/chicken skewer was nice and favoured by my boyfriend, but the winner for me would have to be the Kefta burger or Salmon Kebab. Kefta burger was super flavourful and the cheese really enhanced it. I've never had a salmon kebab before, but this one was excellent. Could still see the fish flake, and not at all over-cooked. The falafel entree had larger versions but still crispy and I found even more tasty than the app. The cooked, potentially caramelized, onions served on the rice (for all 3 dishes) gave it that little extra. Rice pudding isn't my go-to for dessert, but it was nice. Got the Knaffa Ashta myself. There was less phyllo pastry than I expected, but a fair amount of custard. The baklava was pretty standard. Out of the three, the Knaffa was the sweetest. I tried their jallab lemonade. It was fun to try, but I personally couldn't taste much of the additions (date molasses, pine nuts, and raisins). It looks like everything is available on their usual menu, except for maybe the Kefta burger (I really hope not though). I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Sizing might be a bit smaller than their standard plates, but I think well-priced considering a tasty 3-course meal.
The restaurant is inside the mall, nicely decorated with good ambiance. We had Falafel (from hot menu), and Lahmeh, grilled veal tenderloin (from grill menu). Both were good. I would rate the falafel among one of the best ones in Ontario. The veal was really tender, nicely prepared. Ample parking available in the mall parking lot. Just a tip, if you are going for dinner, park near the mall entrance of the restaurant, because rest of the entrances get closed with mall timing
Horrible food | Slow service | Rude management I visited Tabule at Bayview mall for summerlicious and it was horrible. This might have been the last straw to me participating in and "licious" event because I feel like they treated us differently because we were there for the discounted lunch menu. They ran out of appetizers, entree and dessert options. We were not served in a timely manner. When the only dessert they had left was forced on us, it came out as a soupy MESS. I've had kanafa many times before and this was just plain disrespect. When I asked to talk to the manager, a very loud woman came over and basically yelled at us creating a scene and offered no compensation or apology. I'll never go to tabule again.
This restaurant came recommended (by my mom -- so, obviously had to try it! Service was a little slow BUT super friendly and personable (besides it was lunch hour, we anticipated that a little bit). It's bright, comfortable seating and the food was absolutely delicious! My dad spotted someone enjoying lamb chops on the way in, so his order was a no brainer. We shared the cold platter (warm pita was delicious!) and the falafel was one of the best I've ever had. Food was fresh, great presentation and a ton of vegetarian and gluten free options. We will definitely be back!
Ambiance and food was very nice. Staff was super friendly. The food was okay! I have had better Lebanese food for the amount I paid but still it was a nice place to go and enjoy a nice Mediterranean meal!
Yum! Pretty good. Didn't expect this at all. The lamb was pretty good. I didn't like the naan bread that much though, it was pretty thick. Nice little spot at Bayview village mall. Nice selection of food. Service is very friendly! Not sure if there was drama with staff, but one of the members / bussers comes off pretty bratty. Made me feel like I was watching a high school drama. 3/5
The food was good, what was not is the almost 30% tip they added to our bill without our knowing. Our server just said: tip and tax is already included, and when it was handed to be I could not see the amount just the screen where it asks you to tap/insert your card
Let's start with the star of the show...the falafel here is the best I've ever encountered; crispy on the outside yet light and crumbly on the inside. The cucumber salad is refreshing, the kefta was a little dry but tasty nonetheless, the salmon is flaky and nice, and the grilled vegetables (bell pepper and zucchini) are succulent and just a little burnt. The Knafa Ashta had a great combination of crispy filo pastry on top of warm custard (also has some pistachio bits). The atmosphere is elegant yet lively and tasteful. When the restaurant is full it's loud and bustling. Overall a superb dining experience. read more
2nd time visit Quality very consistent and excellent. Staff very efficient and friendly. Start off with a basket of free pita bread (yes, free, an adjective not commonly used in restaurants nowadays). Pita bread was hot, toasty and soft Staff recommended the eggplant appetizer instead of cauliflower, eggplant slices were seared with a nice crust with a moist gooey eggplant meat center, add a citrusy splash, perfection Ordered lamb chops and the veal tenderloin skewers. Both ordered medium rare. Unfortunately the lamb chops were more on the medium side. My veal were removed from the skewers before arriving at my table. Most of the larger pieces were medium rare, the smaller pieces were towards the medium side. Both plates come with a large portion of rice and vegetables. Plenty of leftovers to take home, staff also offered to give us some fresh pita bread to take home, sweet. read more

3.5 I'm a fan of Tabule Bayview Village! I made last minute reservations on a Thursday night and was able to get a decent timing. Located within the mall near O&B is the cute middle eastern restaurant, Tabule. Pronounced Ta-boo-leh, this restaurant features some classic dishes to satisfy your hungry belly for any meal of the day. I came with a group so we ordered quite a few things and shared. I still stuck to my vegetarian diet here, however the server verbally confirmed that the food was halal - the entire menu including the lamb, meat and chicken. He went to check with the chef as well so some people in my party ordered meat. I decide on the arugula falafel salad with halloumi cheese. While we waited for our dishes to arrive, we enjoyed an appetizer of cauliflower. It was pretty good and the sauce was very unique. My water was continuously being filled which was good. Then my main dish came. The presentation was ok, but the taste was amazing. The falafels were cooked perfectly, and the salad had great acidity and balance of flavours. I also tried some of the eggplant dish which was amazing. My only con was that the price point was quite high. You can definitely get falafel salad for cheaper than $16-20....Also I imagine the restaurant to be a bit loud in the daytime since it's inside the mall, but other than that it was a good experience! read more

This is my first visit to Tabule on Bayview. I have been to their other location on the Danforth. I think both locations are da bomb! Today I am having a twist on a traditional fatoush that is heavy on the lemon or vinegar, but is liberally blended with fresh mint, tomatoes, purple onion, cucumber, and yes, generous helpings of sumac! Every bite wants me to get more of the mint, lemon and sumac! I'm also having the falafel dinner. The falafels are just on the edge of super crispness and the insides are super soft and moist! And gluten free. These are by far, the best falafels that I have had. They have a beautiful hint of spice and the tahini is delicious as well. The grilled vegetables are also nicely grilled and very savoury. Some disclosure, I'm not a vegetarian, but I tend to eat mostly vegetables when I see this selection of food. I've ordered too much food, but too be fair, it's been a very long time since I have had as much variety as what I have had here. This is over the top for good food, selection, spicing and friendly staff. 5 stars! read more

Conveniently located close to home and right at Bayview Station. Great place to dine for families, friends, couples, the young and the elderly. They have a pretty wide menu selection so there's something for everyone. Reservations recommended since it does get very busy at dinner. Ordered the sample platter with babaganüj, tabüle and labni the past two times I was here. Best served for a group of 3-4 people. I'm generally not a fan of parsley, so my favourites were the babaganüj and the labni. Falafel: super crispy and delicious! I have tried both the kefta main dish and the kefta banadura in previous visits. The kefta banadura sits in a plate of tomato sauce (and other spices). I found the tomato sauce to be too heavily seasoned with a taste that was just too strong for my personal preference. The meat itself was also too heavily seasoned so my overall impression of the dish was quite salty. The meat in the kefta I ordered from my previous visit was not as heavily seasoned and more enjoyable. I always love the rice and vegetables that come with our main meals as it balances out all the meatiness. It has enough flavour that I can eat a bowl of it on its own. Portions are sufficient. I leave feeling stuffed everytime. Service: servers do come by to check up on our tables and refill water. I find the time it takes for our dishes to arrive to be a little slow, but it's still bearable. read more

We ordered a number of combo platters for a family birthday celebration including an assortment of meat, dip platter, falafel, cauliflower and fattush. Everything was incredibly flavourful and the presentation was superb. The kefta and chicken were cooked to perfection and the Arnabeet cauliflower was a uniamous hit. Also the garlic dip and hot sauce are on point. Take out service was exceptional and even included help with loading the car. Can't wait to order again. read more

I got the Fattoush salad and added grilled chicken. The add on on the menu is approximately $5 for the chicken but the waitress also mentioned that you could pay more for the skewered chicken. I decided to get the cheaper option - but that was a big mistake. Someone else ordered the skewered chicken with the rice, and it was significantly better. Both types are white meat, but the skewer chicken is a lot juicier and tender, so don't make the same mistake as me! As you can see, the salad doesn't have lettuce or anything. It's all chopped vegetables like cucumber and tomato - I thought that this was kind of different. There were pita chips that was an added bonus. Without the chicken, I personally would have found the salad a bit plain. I also got the baba ganouj, and I'm not much of an expert, but I thought it tasted pretty good! Lovely environment. I went there for lunch but I think they do dinner as well. As it's located inside of Bayview Village and there are people passing by it does have a bit of a casual feel but the sitting area is really nice and comfy. The waitress was also very friendly and welcoming to us, the service was great. read more
I like the main Yonge and Davisville location, because of better service and summer patio vibes, but this location is closer and more convenient for those living in Scarborough. Location: 4.5/5 Right next to the Bayview subway stn, inside Bayview Village, this is a posh area with a ton of parking both outside and underground. This mall has everything: groceries, Café, chocolates and many lounges. Sheppard is a very accessible street. Decor/Ambience: 4/5 Way more modern than their Yonge and Davisville location, the couches here are very comfy and the place is buzzing with conversations. There is a bar right at the right and you just feel trendy here. Food quality: 4.5/5 I truly love my main eggplant dish! Large slices of scrumptious eggplants and wild rice with lentils, roasted red onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers!! There was plenty of hummus. So flavourful!! My friends' meat dishes were not gamey and flavourful, too. Service: 3/5 Adequate but waitress was not that enthusiastic to be working. Value: 4/5 I feel just the right amount of full and one main was enough! For a vegan dish, this place had a very good value and portions. $16 is a bit more than I would like for a dish that is just veggies and rice, but it was done so well that I cannot complain. Overall: 4/5 I really like Tabule! My beau and I both think that this chain is the best or go-to for Middle Eastern cuisine. We bring our friends here all the time!! read more

I love middle eastern food and this completely exceeded my expectations. Our food came out within 10 minutes of actually ordering it and our server was consistent in filling up our water at the table. We ordered cold mezze including babaganoush, hummus and pickles and olives with the gluten-free laffa - which was exceptional. We also ordered the fattush salad, garlic shrimp and the flash fried cauliflower topped with tahini. I just loved that everything we ate tasted amazing together, and the dips made their way through the entire meal. Following my meal, I ordered a honey cardamom latte with almond milk, which was phenomenal in flavour and the perfect level of sweet and spicy. I loved that they accommodated my dairy allergy - I always appreciate that! I would highly recommend this place - it's rich in flavours, affordable and healthy! read more
Took my family here on a Friday night, no reservations between 6-8pm on Fridays so keep that in mind. We decided just to walk in and ended up waiting 30 mins so wasn't too bad and were seated by 6:45ish. Just go earlier the better for larger groups The best part of going with more people is trying a lot of the menu at one time! It was our first time so everything was a new experience and this is what my review is based off of. We started with the sampler platter of hummus, babaganuj, and labni. The labni was the wild card and ended by being everyone's favorite! Should definitely try! Followed up by falafel (6 pcs app) which everyone loved. Super crunchy exterior which I liked. Then there were the garlic shrimp in a spicy tomatoey sauce. Only 5 pcs, was good but norm worth $13.50. If you ordered mains Only, you might be in for a long wait. You migh want some apps to keep your stomach from eating itself. For mains we tried the kefta, tawuk (chicken), lamb, and fish of the day (sea bass). Kefta and lamb were the best IMO, chicken was a bit dry, and I personally don't like fish with small bones when I'm hungry. It was good though with crispy skin and good flavour. The buttery rice and grilled veggies with the mains were to notch! We tried the VEGAN LEBANESE RICE PUDDING and MÜHALABIYA, no one particularly enjoyed it - better off getting ice cream at Laura Secord, but YMMV. Tabule has been around in Toronto for quite some time, and I've never had the chance to try to eat at one because their 2 other locations were not exactly convenient for me. Now that they have opened one up right at the mall I live next to, I officially had no more excuses and was very much looking forward to the meal I had tonight given all the good things I have heard about them. The restaurant itself looked ok, decor is modern but unremarkable. I chose to sit at the bar area given I was dining alone. I ordered a pint of Beau's Lugtread (overpriced at $9/pint), and based on the recommendations by the bartender/server, I had a falafel starter with some whole wheat pita bread. There were 6 falafels per order ($6.50). I was immediately disappointed when I took the first bite - the falafel had an overly crunchy shell, with very hard rough bits that gave a somewhat unpleasant chew. Inside, the chickpea was bland and the tahini did not add any flavor. It was very much a case of "I wish I had ordered something else". The whole wheat pita bread was cold and hard - I definitely have had way better elsewhere. For my main course, I ordered the lamb chops, their most expensive item at $26.95 (this was before I tasted anything). I was hoping that by ordering their most premium item, I would get to see how truly great their food is. After the disappointing falafel, I was really hoping the lamb chops would be better. The lamb chops themselves came medium rare, just how I ordered it (good). The chops tasted like it was grilled with a flame and had a pleasant taste (good). The rice, onions and zucchini it came with are quite ordinary. Overall, I found the dish "ok to eat", but I had expected better at that price point - it would have been a much fairer price if it was ~$23. Overall, I found Tabule (at Bayview Village) to be rather "meh" and somewhat over-priced for what they are serving. It could totally be a case of them still trying to find their footing given how new this location is, but personally I am not going out of my way to try the other locations on the off-chance they "might" be better. All the good reviews associated with this Tabule seem to be with the cold and hot mezze dishes. I am open to trying this place out one more time to re-evaluate. But until then, this would be a borderline 3-star restaurant for me. read more

Sample Platter, $14.00, served with warm pita bread. Which consisted of Hümmus (chickpea purée, lebanese tahini sauce, fresh lemon juice & a touch of garlic), Babaganüj (puréed BBQ eggplant mixed with lebanese tahini, garlic and fresh lemon juice), and Labni homemade (Lebanese yogurt cheese mixed with garlic & topped off with za'atar). I was pleasantly surprised that my favourite dip would be the Labhi. Tabülè (hand chopped parsley salad with whole wheat bulgur, tomatoes, onions and a hint of mint tossed in a light lemon & olive oil dressing). We got to sample a platter of grilled meats consisting of Tawük (grilled marinated chicken breast that is hormone and antibiotic free), Lahmeh (Ontario veal tenderloin), and Grilled Lamb Chops. Everything was served with rice and house salad, the rice was nicely flavoured and fluffy, I could be buckets of. We ended off the meal with some Middle Eastern tea and sweets. Baklavas are bite-sized sweets made with phyllo pastry, honey, pistachio and cashews, $5.75. It was my first time trying Künafa Ashta (phyllo pastry layered with custard and topped off with rose water syrup), $6.95, at it was absolutely delicious. I am 900% sure I polished off the plate by myself and I would definitely revisit Tabülè just for this dessert alone. The space is gorgeous and inviting with touches modern elegance and splashes of colour and gold all over, a super Instagramable room! The front of the restaurant has table seating as well, giving you the feeling of sitting on the patio without all the elements of the weather. The atmosphere, service, hospitality, food and drinks were amazing - I can't wait to be back for a fancy relaxed meal. read more
I came here for lunch soon after they opened. This location is conveniently located at Bayview Village so there's ample parking. Also, I doubt you'll ever need to wait for a table since there are so many other restaurant options close by. We didn't make reservations but were still seated quickly. We got the hummus to share. My friend got the chicken and I got the tenderloin kebab. The chicken came with lentil rice, which was absolutely delicious. If I could have got a plate of just the rice alone, I would have been happy. Despite the awesome rice it came with, the chicken was dry and lacked flavour. My tenderloin, on the other hand, was good but the rice side it came with was bland. Overall I don't think I will be back. Unless I'm already shopping at the mall and craving Middle Eastern food, I would likely go elsewhere. It's not a spot to visit just for the food. Service was friendly. I asked for hot sauce and received it promptly, so no complaints in the service department! read more

visited tabule bayview for winterlicious dinner a month ago. food is wonderful, service is awful. SERVICE - 2/5 i had booked a reservation for 7:30, and was seated by 7:25 since i arrived early. so far so good? nah. after being seated, no one, and i mean no one, came back for TWENTY FIVE minutes. no server, food runner, etc. we just sat there for over twenty minutes with the menus. no water, or anything! eventually when the server came around, he spoke probably about 4 words, "what would you like?" and then took off and never came back. towards the end, i was looking for the server so i could get the bill and leave. he was just standing all the way at the front chatting for 10 minutes!! i get chatting but hello, walk around every few minutes lol. FOOD - 3.5/5 the food on the other hand was good! i've never had this type of food so it was a big step outside my comfort zone. i was pleasantly surprised how many vegan/vegetarian options they had! the portions were on the more generous side, as i was full after apps haha. COMBINATION PLATE: falafel, hummus, tabbouleh salad, baba ghanoush. this was suppper filling, i was pretty much full after apps lol CAULIFLOWER APP: i have no idea what this is actually called, or what's it in... i think it's fried cauliflower with ... no idea not helpful. but it was sooooooo good, my favourite actually EGGPLANT DISH: this was pretty good, super filling again. many different flavours. a solid vegetarian option on the menu! (can be made vegan i believe) GRILLED SHRIMP: i found the shrimp to be super flavourful, but everything else about the dish was pretty bland. i wouldn't order it again, but it was satisfying KNAFFA ASHTA: angel hair filo with custard and rose water. it's actually served warm (shocked me lol), but it was pretty good! not my favourite, but it wasn't bad. read more
