    Fried potatoes

The food was an overall 3/5, a lot of was a miss tbh. The turkey cutlets were so dry and tough, the potatoes were mid. The dip platter was worth it, though the hummus was a bit bitter. The cauliflower was also a nice twist, but wasn't game changer for us. The ambiance is great, feels like a small local restaurant with a cool vibe.

Part of a longer review... Fat Pasha is an Annex darling that has been gracing Toronto's restaurant scene for a decade. Known for transforming comfort food into high-concept delights, Chef/owner Anthony Rose has built a small empire, and Fat Pasha stands as a vibrant homage to the bold flavours of the Middle East. While the kitchen dazzles, there's a sense that this beloved establishment may be resting on its laurels--at least when it comes to the dining room. The moment you step through the door, Fat Pasha embraces you in its cozy, rustic warmth. Wall-mounted lanterns glow against the backdrop of worn wooden tables and walls adorned with Middle Eastern artifacts, offering a comforting intimacy. The setting is ripe with anticipation, promising a communal experience that invites diners to savour, share, and explore. It's a space that hums with the energy of a neighborhood favourite, particularly on weekends when the brunch crowd packs the room, hungry for Rose's signature twists on morning fare.

A hidden gem! Make a reservation in advance and come hungry. All the dips and falafel were great to start. The cauliflower and chicken shwarma were my favorite. The drinks were special and lots of good desserts if you're still hungry.

LOVED Fat Pasha. My partner and I only got the larger started plate to try the different dips. For us, this was enough. I was expecting to order an entree too but was too full! All of the dips were delicious, and our server even offered to bring out more warm pita for us to finish our dips at home. The setting was very nice, and not busy since it was a Monday evening. Will definitely return!

So delicious! I loved the chill vibe of this place, our server was so nice and friendly. We booked 2 spots at the bar but were graciously moved to a table when we asked. My friend and I split the platter for 2, and I will be coming back for this. Falafel were fried to perfection, the babba ghannoush was our favourite. Highly recommend coming here for sharing plates and a chill dinner.

I absolutely loved everything about our brunch at Fat Pasha! I had a hankering for bagels, lox and cream cheese and boy, did this restaurant deliver in spades! My sandwich was delectable! The latkes were awesome too! My kids had the monster French toast, which was a five star offering! There is a lovely patio out back and service was so friendly. Loved the atmosphere and and will certainly be back!

Fave restaurant in Toronto! The interior is very intimate and has a unique charm with very kind staff. I came here for a birthday dinner with some family and have to say that the food was soo delicious -- the middle eastern and american flavours worked together perfectly and I will definitely say this place deserved a bib gourmand award. The dips were alll very taste and I would recommend getting extra bread to go with it! Out of the items I got, I would probably pass on the smashed potatoes as they weren't anything special and everything else on the menu is so much better.

(3.5) We visited Fat Pasha on a weekend dinner service recently. Noted a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin guide, it was on our list of restaurants to visit in the city. A rather quiet and intimate restaurant located on Dupont in the Annex area of Toronto - The staff was attentive, well-educated on the menu and seemed to genuinely be invested in our experience. We ordered several house cocktails as well as a couple martinis throughout the meal. For the meal we had the Pickles N' Olives, Fat Salatim Platter and Za'atar Roasted Half Chicken. We wanted to order other dishes to the table but didn't want to compromise getting less of the Salatim Platter. The platter itself was a middle eastern food lover's dream. Eight small bowls filled with an assortment of middle eastern dips, oils, pickles, etc. accompanied with six falafels and pita bread, this likely could be a full meal for many. We were told the dips were made in house and they tasted like it; our favorite being the Chirshi (a squash puree with Tahini and pomegranate molasses). Next, we had the half chicken that came on a hot plate on a bed of warm shakshuka. Overall, the chicken was well cooked and seasoned well, but we thought was missing something. We had a fun and exciting time at Fat Pasha and enjoyed the experience.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures

Our server was so nice and friendly. We got the tabule salad with falafel, fried eggplant, and lamb grill. The salad is kind of a small portion but very tasty. The falafel was the perfect ratio of crispy to stuffing. However, they were mini falafels and I believe the regular order of falafels is bigger. The eggplant was the least enjoyable dish because it was so greasy and had no flavor to it. The lamb was cooked to perfection and so tender and flavorful. The grills are also served with veggies and rice. The portion size was perfect. We'd go back again and try some other hot mezzes.

The hummus was good, definitely above average for hummus, a very classic hummus. Also got some falafel which were also good. Not overly fried, good flavor and consistency to them. Paired well with some hot sauce. The lamb banadura was good too, the lamb itself was perhaps a bit dry and could've been more heavily spiced/seasoned, but the tomato garlic sauce in which it was served was absolutely delicious as were the heavily-seasoned tomatoes in the dish. Everything was well packaged for delivery and it was all pretty good.
