The place was very cute, food was good and decently priced for today's day and age. Service could have been a bit better. It was also a little cold, but other than that it was good!

Make sure you come in as a group. If you come in alone to eat you may get ignored by servers. Two tables of 4 came in 10 mins after me and were served first. I had to get up after half an hour to ask someone to take my order. First impression of the restaurant was not good but decided to give it a try. I was going to try a few items but was hesitant after the initial experience, so I only ordered the lamb shank plate. Food was amazing. Reminded me of when I lived in Morocco. Warm fresh bread. Perfect cut of lamb and the plate was very well seasoned. I liked the addition of the sliced almonds and pomegranates for taste & texture, with flower buds for decoration. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and kept very clean. Definitely had a women only feel during the lunch rush (more the clientele they have on weekdays). Although the servers were very nice I did notice, that they made me wait 25 mins so that they could clean tables before starting to make my mint tea. There was no urgency to clean tables as many tables were still clean & available since it was after the lunch rush. When I asked about the tea he did apologized as there were only two servers working the floor. I was given tea 35 mins after ordering it. Customer service skills/common sense is slightly lacking when it comes to waiting on a table or cleaning. I would come back but maybe with others as I think there is definitely a bias to a table of customers vs. just one customer. Hoping my next experience is better.

Awesome vegetarian food! The dip platter was my personal favourite! It was also the crispiest falafel I've ever had. And the pita was incredibly fresh!! The service was decent overall, a little disorganized. But the ambiance was cute!!

My favorite dish was the roasted cauliflower. Flavourful and great with the bread...my only complaint would be that the bread seemed a little stale? In the past, it's been served hot and fresh. The grill platter was also pretty good. Service was quick but the place could have been cleaner. We wiped the chair and the napkin was black!!

So freaking good. It's a big space and a lot of groups come here. I came for lunch on a weekend and they said they only serve from their brunch menu or you could order grilled items from main menu. I loved their babaghanoush - there was so much flavour. Definitely try their manakeesh and pita bread too. Anything that comes out of their oven is so yummy.

This place was really really nice. I enjoyed the decor a lot. They have a really nice patio area as well. Though it's on the pricey side, the portions were very generous. The meat was very tender and I really enjoyed there tahini and garlic sauces. Presentation was really nice. One thing that sets it apart from the many other middle eastern and Turkish restaurants in the gta that have similar food is the very cute tea sets.

3.5-4 We stopped in here for a quick lunch between errands on a Saturday. They thoroughly checked vaccine certificates and id. I ordered a salad with arugula, dates, pomegranate, etc. There were too many onions and way too much dressing. At first bite it was tasty but was way too sour for me. It actually hurt my teeth. Hubby loved it and polished it off. Hubby got the hummus with brisket on it. He liked it very much. It came with 2 hot fresh breads which were devoured. We payed for a third bread because it was so good.....but not gluten free. The best part was the orange apple cinnamon tea. The flavour and aroma were beautiful. The pot seemed like it was never ending but we didn't waste a single drop! We want to return with the fam to explore the menu more.

Decided to finally check this place out for Dinner. The apps were absolutely delicious. The hummus with beef, the variety of different dips and the fresh bread to accompany. On to the main course. I wasnt that pleased with my meat. It was alright.

4.5/5! Went here recently for the first time for brunch and I really enjoyed the food! I ordered the Iraqi kebab (beef and lamb) with shoestring fries, and I was very satisfied with this. Only thing I didn't particular enjoy were the pickled veggies on the side of this dish which I found were a tad bit too salty. We ordered family style and shared most of what we ordered - I enjoyed everyone's dishes and everything tasted great! I'm definitely going to come back here another time to try their dinner menu. My favourites: - 3 dip hummus platter - the red pepper hummus was the best one! (It had a very nice kick) - Sausages (I forgot the exact name) - Moroccan tea - this was super refreshing! (We ordered with extra mint leaves) In terms of covid protocols, this places takes adequate measures. They check for proof of vaccinations along with your ID when you enter.

3 cheese & herbs manakeesh

(4.5/5) FOOD | Got some take out from this local Middle Eastern joint. It was really busy when we went and even takeout took around 20-25 minutes to prepare. I wasn't feeling too hungry so I got the 3 cheese & herbs manakeesh ($6.50). On the menu it looks like a flatbread but it came out more pizza-like? Regardless, it was so flavourful, and I loved the cheese blend. It actually was pretty filling because of the heaviness of the cheese. AMBIANCE | The interior of this restaurant is so nice. It is decorated very authentically, with a large open oven for the pitas. The patio is also roomy and nicely decorated, and I would definitely come back to do dine-in. SERVICE | A bit on the slow side (especially for take out), but it may be because we came at rush hour. VERDICT | So many vegetarian options ... Can't wait to come back and try other menu items!

Terrible service, average food and fast food ambiance. This place is a total miss. The servers do not smile & and are unfriendly. We had ordered tea, when it was delivered, the waitress placed it at the far end of the table and walked away without even looking at us. I had to get up and get it myself. Throughout our visit, we found unfriendly staff. I don't blame the servers, I blame the business owner who hasn't trained them. The food was just average. The look & feel is deceptive in online pictures... in actuality it looks like a fast food place. Please avoid.

Cheese kunafa dessert - so good!

We've ordered via Uber Eats from East Tea Can now a couple of times and have really enjoyed the food. We chose the platter for two each time, which comes with a generous helping of veggie and meat options along with hummus, tabbouleh, pickles, rice, samoon bread, and other delicious goodies. The food has been nicely packed and we love the variety of items which are included. We've also tried both of their dessert dishes - the rose custard and also the cheese filled fries noodles (both are amazing). Our new go to spot for middle eastern food! Hopefully someday we will visit in person too.

When I returned to Mississauga this year, I decided to invite a group of about 30 of my mom's friends to the restaurant. Although they don't take reservations on weekends, Abdulsalaam was very accommodating and helped me find a less busy time to secure a spot for our group. We ordered almost everything on the menu. Although there were some gluten-containing dishes I couldn't try, the staff went out of their way to offer gluten-free options like tabbouleh and fries for me. The dishes I did enjoy, such as the BBQ mix, Mansaf, and rice, were absolutely fantastic. The staff did an amazing job throughout the evening, and each one of them approached our table with a genuine smile. The restaurant itself is simple but beautifully decorated, and the service is top-notch. As for the food--it's truly outstanding and incredibly delicious. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in Mississauga!

I've tried the chicken mandi and Greek salad (good). I love their Adani tea and because I'm a frequent patron, I accumulate lots of points. They provide a sample of it after your meal. During Ramadan, they provided a complimentary fruit platter for patrons, which I thought was a nice touch. Service is great. Servers are lovely, helpful and kind. The interior has been renovated since the last establishment. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and they are on top of their cleanliness, including the washroom. I hope they maintain their standard.

Shelby's Legendary Shawarma: Where Flavor Meets a Wrap So Big, It Should Have Its Own ZIP Code…read more Let's cut to the chase: Shelby's Legendary Shawarma isn't just a restaurant--it's a Trojan horse for flavor, cloaked in what might be the most Instagrammable "Great to Go" packaging since someone decided tacos needed their own emoji. Picture this: You're standing at the counter, handed a vibrant, reusable tin container that looks like it belongs in a museum (but will, in your defense, hold your leftovers for days). The scene? A Middle Eastern feast masquerading as a food truck, where the air smells like a love letter written in garlic, cumin, and charred meat. Now, let's talk about the Legendary Shawarma. This isn't your average gyro-style wrap. Oh no. Shelby's takes a Middle Eastern classic and slaps it with a Kitchener-born personality. The Legendary Shawarma Wrap is a beast--a foot-long, flavor-packed torpedo of tender beef and lamb, perfectly balanced like a foodie's dream duo. The meat, slow-roasted until it shreds like a sad romantic comedy, is piled high with pickles, tahini, and a punch of pickled veggies that cut through the richness like a best friend's brutally honest opinion. But here's the real showstopper: the Mac n' Cheese Shawarma. Yes, you read that right. Creamy, gooey mac 'n' cheese infused with shawarma spices? It's like comfort food went to a spice bazaar and came back with a PhD. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could've abandoned the rest of the meal and just dipped my fingers into that dish. The ambiance? Think "casual chaos with charm." Think the kind of place where the hum of happy customers and sizzling grills makes you feel like you're at a block party hosted by the universe's most enthusiastic foodie. The walls? Decked out with art that screams, "We take shawarma seriously, but never ourselves." It's the emotional equivalent of a warm hug after a long day--especially if your idea of a long day involves resisting the urge to steal your date's mac 'n' cheese. And the staff? Good, but in the best way. My server, a guy who could sell ice to a polar bear, recommended the mac 'n' cheese with the confidence of someone who'd probably tasted it during a midnight snack emergency. He laughed when I admitted I live by Joey Doesn't Share Food (the wrap was so huge, I needed a second plate just to pretend I was sharing). Highlights? The packaging (reusable! Bold!), the mac 'n' cheese (legendary!), and the fact that Shelby's has somehow made shawarma feel both ancient and utterly new. Final Verdict: Shelby's is a steal for foodies, couples (bring a date, but bring separate plates), and families (yes, even the kids will eat the mac 'n' cheese). Just don't say I didn't warn you when you're face-down on the floor, fighting your own leftovers at 8 p.m. Go. Now. Before the mac 'n' cheese shawarma becomes a myth.

It included fluffy, made in front of me (to order), falafel doused in a garlic and kickin' hot sauce over rice accompanied by a side fattoush salad and hummus. The falafel was cooked perfectly and had a fluffy and not overdone or super friend texture to it. The sauces drizzled on it were AMAZING, especially the hot sauce which the secret receipt he explained was passed down from his Italian born grandmother through the generations! I could drink this hot sauce and garlic sauce , it literally was SO good. The side fattoush salad featured fresh and crisp vegetables and was delicious as was the hummus. Everything tasted very fresh! I gladly ate there at the side bar with tall chair seating which allowed me to chat with the nice and gracious owner, Alex, who explained he moved from Italy and uses Italian 00 flour and other real deal Italian ingredients in his sauce. That is why his pizza is far above the competitors in the area. You are getting high quality pizza here because the ingredients are just superior. And, where on earth can you get an awesome quality pizza with shawarma on it? Here folks! My dining companion had a chicken shawarma wrap, the regular size, and it was HUGE. But, more than that, it was delicious and completely devoured. No complaints there. One thing to note is that Alex prepares things in batches and when he sells out he sells out for the day. Check my pictures to see a picture of the delectable pizza from dough he hand tossed/stretches in front of us. Alex explained the Italian origins of the pizza components. He explained with the finer flour and better ingredients leave you not feeling heavy or with indigestion after eating it.
