Delicious bread pudding

First time eating Egyptian absolutely loved it! Highly recommend this place. Lamb shank with cabbage rolls delicious. BIG portions took home enough for another meal. Calamari tasty and tender! Bread pudding is enough for 3-4 people delicious

Absolutely delicious food here! Ordered pickup and we didn't even know it was a Michelin guide restaurant until we entered. No wonder everything was so lovely. They gave us a whole garlic naan as it is uncut in the foil and that was very impressive! Really cool that they did that cuz most restaurants just cut it up and give it to you if you want it to go. Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. I needed it a little spicy so added a bit of spice to it and it was perfect. They also had a promotion going on for free samosas with an order of $50 or more. So they gave us four samosas on the house! So nice of them. Husband definitely enjoyed these.

We visited this restaurant early Sunday evening and it was busy. Lots of birthday celebrations and restayrant smelt like charcoaled bbq which brought up my appetite. This restaursnt has so many vegan options. I am not a vegan however I decided to try some vegan food & was totally satisfied with two vegan dishes I ordered. Koshary($13) The combination of rice, lentil, chickpeas & pasta & when they were served warm, it was interesting. When all the beans, legumes, pasta were mixed with spiced tomato sauce, dakka (garlic infused vinegar) & hot sauce, it was creating such a unique dishes that I have never tried before. Mama's Molekheya($16.50) This royal mallow leaf green soup might not be for everyone. Texture is slimy. But for me with roasted garlic & fresh ground coriander this soup was very much enjoyable. I could just drink up the soup. Egyptian rice & vermicelli that served with soup was delicious as well. My friend ordered Arugula Salata ( $16.00) It was served with cranberry, walnut, olive oil, lemon and added grilled chicken($8) Sweet pomegranate molasses dressing & killer grilled chicken made this salad so good and portion size was huge. I would return to try some more meat dishes.

Molokheya and Mix Mahashy

As an Egyptian who lives abroad, it's hard to find Egyptian food that hits the spot. Masrawy doesn't just taste like Egyptian food but real homemade food. Everything here reminds me of Egypt: the welcoming friendly staff, the ambiance and the richness of the food! I ordered Egyptian specialties and none of them disappointed. I got the Molokhiya and it was out of this world delicious and very authentic. It has the right consistency and the amazing garlicky taste. I also got the hawawshi and it was exactly how it is made back home! Spicy and crunchy. To top it off, I got the Mix Mahashy and the taste was incredible. The Egyptian taste in stuffed vegetables is very unique and Masrawy made it with a passion. To finish everything, I had to try "Om Ali" which is a very traditional Egyptian dessert. It was very warm, sweet and exactly what I expected. Masrawy is one of the best Egyptian restaurants I've ever tried! If there is one word to describe Masrawy, it's "passion"!

When to a near by furniture store and we got hungry. This place was recommended to us by a foodie friend so we had to stop by and give it a go. Restaurant was recently renovated according to the staff. The restaurant was quite busy for being around 4pm. Food did take a while to arrive i believe close to 15-20 min after ordering. But man the food was definitely worth the wait. Lamb shank was fall off the bone and under the rice there was a suprise of crispy skin? Or something but that was delicious!! The other main dish we got was the masrawy fusion. We got a mix of beef and chicken i think it was. It was really good like a shwarma but the white sauce and the pickled carrots was amazing. Would definitely recommend trying it. Mac and cheese was in a clay pot. It was definitely okay but didnt blow us out of the water like the other 2 main dishes. Servers did seem to talk amongst themselves so it was a little difficult to get their attention to get more water/the bill/ and takeout boxes. Would highly recommend to try if your in the area!!

Had a phenomenal time at Masrawy Egyptian Kitchen. A friend suggested we visit this place while we were in Toronto and it did not disappoint. The menu boasts a number of traditional Egyptian dishes and the group tried many of them. From the Kosery to the Bachemel, everything was delightful. The staff were awesome and super excited to talk through the menu. We had a lot of fun conversation with other patrons as well. Very family friendly spot.

What a fantastic lunch stop! My son suggested this place and he ordered everything for us! The service couldn't have been better! I wish I could rent out servers name but I'm sure I wouldn't do it justice. We were introduced to the owner and he extended the warm welcome back any time were were in Mississauga. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try of your travels take you into Canada. Or if you're local definitely stop in! The food was so good and well prepared you'll be amazed!

It was our group's first experience at an authentic Egyptian owned & run restaurant ~ thanks to our Egyptian friend who brought us here We were not disappointed ~ all these dishes we had were delicious and I wish I could remember the names of them all. So you will have to take my word for it and also see the pics of these special dishes. Our host friend said this was the only place that he knows of in Toronto (Mississauaga tho) so many legit dishes in one place. He even said this is what he used to eat all the time in his original country, We had a great time trying everything and only one dish was spicy (to us). They were all wonderfully flavourful. Have a food adventure and try them out! (find me on Instagram via @aida.loves )

Okay so as a vegetarian this was SOOO GOOD!!!! Koshary was such a comforting meal and a great portion! I love Bechamel as well! They were nice enough to make it veg- it essentially becomes this super cheesy and alfredo type pasta! I can't wait to go back and try other vegetarian items! Customer service was awesome and they were very quick too!!

Finally got to try Masrawy! It's been on my places to try for a while -- the drive is worth it. The staff were warm and welcoming. The owner came to our table to introduce himself and recommended us different dishes to try and which were most popular. All the dishes we ordered were flavourful and delicious. My group and I throughly enjoyed our meals. Portions were HUGE, we had lots of leftovers left, which was perfect. I'd love to come back here and try everything else on their menu.

The Pharaoh

We love the flavours of Egyptian food! We came here for breakfast, and the portions were extremely generous. We ordered The Pharaoh breakfast, Hawaoshi, and Chef's Platter to share. Staff were helpful and quick to answer our questions. The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. Definitely worth the trip to Mississauga!

My friend and I wanted to get together for dinner. We had arranged to meet up a few months ago. She had to cancel and nothing fit schedule-wise after that thanks to my various travel plans. We got together a few Fridays ago on a frigid evening. I am fine when it's that cold, thanks to living in Manitoba and Minnesota. She is not as acclimated, so I was anticipating that she'd cancel. Nope, she was a trooper and stuck it out. She had suggested a few places. I immediately said yes to Masrawy Egyptian Kitchen. The last time I had authentic Egyptian food was in 2016. I had pigeon. This menu had pigeon. I knew that this eatery was authentic. After work, I drove over to this eatery. It was definitely a shorter distance for my friend who lives in Oakville. I'm glad that she had arrived early. She let me know that she had a table. My drive was pretty good for a Friday evening during rush hour. I had no problem finding the restaurant. It's in a plaza with a bunch of businesses and eateries. I backed into a spot and walked into the restaurant. I saw my friend wave to me. She was close to the front, in the corner. We had the nicest server who was attentive and helpful with the questions that we had. We both ordered different dishes and shared them. My friend got the fatta (lamb shank) with hot sauce on the side. I was shocked that my friend got hot sauce because she can't handle spicy food. I decided to not get the pigeon. I went with Egyptian kofta with salad and rice instead. We both got hibiscus beverages and a huge pitcher of water that was promptly refilled while we dined. It didn't take long for our meals to come. We served each other, so we got the best of everything. It was fun and enjoyable doing a family-style meal. The hibiscus beverage was awesome. It was cold and refreshing, which seems odd considering how frigid it was outside. Who cares! Just get it. The fatta was fabulous. The lamb fell off the bone with little effort. It was so tender and seasoned perfectly. It had bits of crispy bread that added a lot of texture and crunch. I loved the fried garlic with the Egyptian rice. So good! The Egyptian kofta with salad and rice was up my alley. I loved how delicious the ground beef kofta was. Each kofta was juicy and yummy. The rice was so good. You have the option of getting rice or fries. I asked if I could get half and half. That option wasn't available, but she said that I could get salad with my rice. I'm so glad that I got the salad. It was the right amount to balance everything out. It came with tahina, which was perfect. Whenever I see kunafa on the menu, I need to have it. We ordered it and split it. It was yummy. It wasn't super sweet. It was crunchy and creamy, with a bit of sweetness. There was some celebration of an Instagram handle getting 10K followers that night. We joined in, feeling like we were crashing some sort of party with a huge cake. It was far from being dull at this eatery. My friend was kind to treat me to dinner. I'm glad that she did. She paid with a debit card. Done! For the first time in my life, I left my wallet at the restaurant after we had got up and left. I noticed that my purse was lighter than usual when I was in my car and drove away, heading home. A bit distressed, I called the restaurant and asked if they had a purple wallet returned. The man on the phone said yes. I was so relieved. He said to come to the front counter and indicate that I was there for a purple wallet. It helps that I have such a different wallet than most. I don't know anyone with a Kipling purple wallet, except me. Luckily, I was still in Mississauga when I had noticed that my wallet was missing. I was grateful that it was safe with the restaurant. I got my wallet, thanked the man, and happily headed back to my car with my wallet. It was a good, weird night. Great food, staff, and company. I now double-check that my wallet is always with me. Highly recommend making reservations as it was full when we arrived. Inside can be described as a bit of chaos during busy times. The seating is a little congested to accommodate as many people as possible. The ceiling has hanging light bulbs, art work features the Egyptian culture. Once seated, servers attended quickly and the food arrived in a timely manner. They had dates and water ready on each table for Ramadan. The food itself, the chefs platter of spreads included baba ganoush, hummus and besara (green). The green spread was least liked by the group. The calamari was fried to perfection. Fatta is one of their more popular dishes, the quantity was large! Egyptian Kofta was tender and alright. The start dish at the table was Masrawy Fushion, it was packed with spices and flavour. Overall, the meal, ambiance, service was all enjoyable!

I tried 2 dishes: grilled chicken & grilled minced lamb. Both dishes cost me $50 and is worth less than $20! Here's why: 1) the portions were miserly! For a $30 plate (with tax), take a look at the photo - 4 tiny balls of minced lamb sitting morosely on the plate. 8 bites in total! 2) the meats were as dry as OLD SHOES! Charcoal grilling is an art form. The lamb, which was supposedly wrapped in lamb fat, should have been succulent and juicy. Instead, as the 2nd photo shows, it was burnt and very, very dry. 3) the chicken was no better. Dry to the point of being stringy and chewy. It was supposed to be dark meat (leg), but it was so dry I couldn't even tell if it was dark or white meat. 4) For this miserable dinner, I waited a full 28 minutes - when I was there at 4pm and I was the only 1 of 2 customers. Unacceptable! This was a real disappointment, and a total let down, because Karas shawarma (by the same Owner) was actually quite decent, which was why I decided to try their restaurant location. My verdict: Eat at Karas shawarma, when they have their 2 wraps for $20 promo on Mondays. That's worth eating for that price. But Karas Restaurant most definitely is NOT worth eating at - at this price point & for such bad quality!

The food was very fresh and very flavour. The Karioka Combo includes Tarb (ground beef skewer wrapped with lamb fat), Shish Tawook, Kofta, Beef Kebab, Reyash (Lamb Chops) and the unique Hawaoshi. Each one of them was marinated with unique flavours and grilled to perfection; juicy and tender. The owner of the place, Maha, was also extremely pleasant going around tables and chatting with the customers. The restaurant space was a little tight, but it has a lot of character. It gives a very welcoming and homey feel. One minor gripe I have is that the utensils appear to be sealed or covered the wrong way. It was the ends of the spoon and fork that was covered with napkin and not the actual surfaces that come into contact with food. The ends of utensils that actually come in contact with the food and mouth just lie there directly on top of the dining table which is not the most sanitary. As for the food, the food serving size of the meal is great and is usually more than enough for a person. Ordering appetizers on top of the brunch meals will be good for only those that are heavy eaters. For food taste, I personally would rate it as OK to good. It was not bad, but just not something I would personally consider to rank as among my favorite breakfast fare. I enjoyed it more for the novelty of trying something different which is Egyptian food. The food was also a little on the pricey side. We (group of 2) came in at 5 minutes after 10 on a Sunday morning and were lucky enough to find seating (2 tables that can seat 4). This time around I picked up a regular size chicken shawarma on the rocks with a drink, which is an everyday special that ran me $8.50. Having been a shawarma-lover for a while, I think I now prefer the smaller size portion (a regular) since it feels lighter, especially when the weather isn't that hot yet. Sauce is always excellent, I never have rice left over by the time I'm out of sauce. Service is nice and quick. Personally, to me a lot of shawarma joints feel the same - they're all quite consistent with flavour, but I do find Taza's chicken shawarma feels less tendon-y? If that's the right word.
