First things first I went on a Thursday night and this place was full lots of middle eastern people there picking up food which validates the food is good. One of the owners was there he took my order I got the mince Mutabak. He was super courteous very friendly and great at customer service. He was genuinely involved in the show there was another female employee working there too. Now let's get to the food. It took about 10 mins for it to come out, food was piping hot. The mutabak is flaky dough stuffed with fillings and cooked till golden brown to be honest I wasn't too big a fan of this mince beef one, I found it dry and lacked in flavor. I think this particular flavor was not meant for me. They gave a red sauce which was pretty good. But this is how the authentic one tastes like one of my friend whose cuisine it is backed that. The owner gave me a sample of the karak chai and boy it was to die for. The next day I came on and got the honey cream mutabak and omg I fell in love with it completely. I can't wait to try more flavors. The food quality is great. Portion size is huge. You order and pay at the counter and they give you a buzzer. Its more of a togo place but has bench like seating wrapped around the restaurant. Great modern vibe. Lots of parking around it. Definitely coming back for more mutabak and chai. Great show!!!

Halal. Friendly, helpful, hospitable staff. Good vibe and good food. I felt the chicken one was most flavorful. Thr yemeni puffs were a unique taste with the black seeds in it. And the halwa and feta dessert was a big surprise. I really liked it! I also recommend the sweetened karak chai. I recommend this place

Got the Minced beef mutabak with special dipping sauce. All mutabaks come with egg, veggies & special spices, plus whatever the name says. The mutabak was good - crispy & flavourful. There was quite a bit of meat. The dipping sauce was decent - sweet, sour & spicy. I wouldn't pay for it though. Also got a chapati with chips Oman and cheese. It had soft cheese, spicy Omani chips & hot sauce inside. It was an acquired taste, being rather sour. The creamy soft cheese was nice though. All the chapatis are vegetarian right now, but chicken will soon be an option.

When I returned to Mississauga this year, I decided to invite a group of about 30 of my mom's friends to the restaurant. Although they don't take reservations on weekends, Abdulsalaam was very accommodating and helped me find a less busy time to secure a spot for our group. We ordered almost everything on the menu. Although there were some gluten-containing dishes I couldn't try, the staff went out of their way to offer gluten-free options like tabbouleh and fries for me. The dishes I did enjoy, such as the BBQ mix, Mansaf, and rice, were absolutely fantastic. The staff did an amazing job throughout the evening, and each one of them approached our table with a genuine smile. The restaurant itself is simple but beautifully decorated, and the service is top-notch. As for the food--it's truly outstanding and incredibly delicious. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in Mississauga!

We were then brought two menus, and asked to choose our items. I had settled on the kabab wrap, while my mother chose the beef and lamb wrap. While we were waiting for our meals to arrive, we were offered a bowl of lentil soup, which was complimentary. We enjoyed how delicious the soup was, and that it was free. After we had eaten the lentil soup, we were given a large piece of complimentary pita bread, which we had eaten on its own. We were then waiting patiently for our wraps, which arrived about ten minutes after finishing the pita bread. However, my wrap had arrived with onions in it, which I had asked not to be included. I had told the waitress, whom quickly brought it back to be fixed. I then received the correct wrap about five minutes later however, it didn't have any sauce on it. The waitress then brought the sauce in a small container, which I was able to put on my wrap on my own. The wraps were delicious, with an abundance of meat and vegetables to fill it up. We also loved the dipping sauces that accompanied the wraps. However, the waitress seemed a bit confused when we had asked certain questions, as the restaurant had people coming in and out at all times. Overall, I would certainly return to this restaurant, as the food was well-made and appetizing.

The flavor…read moreand quality is LIGHTYEARS better than your average shawarma place for the same price/portion, and I love that they use real toum & make their breads fresh. Their complimentary lentil soup when dining in is also so delicious, I inhale the bowl as soon as it hits my table every time. Service is also very friendly. The way I usually order is: beef/lamb shawarma wrapped in tandoor bread with garlic sauce (toum), extra lettuce, tomato, onions, and parsley, with no pickles or tamarind sauce. I've had that same order except wrapped in saj bread but the tandoor one is so much better (and they actually bake it fresh to order unlike saj which comes out of a bag). Portion is massive for only $14, it's the size of my forearm and I can literally make two meals out of it as long as it's loaded with veggies. 4 stars because of two things: on my first visit I was trying to compare their kebab samoon with my regular spot Kababko, and I thought their bread was too dense + not enough meat for my liking so I will continue to go to Kababko when I want a samoon sandwich. Second thing I'm not a huge fan of is how cramped their seating is, but I guess I can't be too peeved since the place is pretty small. Overall I'll continue coming here STRICTLY for shawarma. I prefer ordering takeout at this place but the free lentil soup for dine in is quite tempting lol.

I tried a variety of the meats and they were cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and well balanced with just the right spices and sauces. Nothing was dry, which made every bite enjoyable. They also offer traditional desserts like Om Ali, knefe, and rice pudding. If you want a more relaxed café vibe afterward, there's a café in the same parking lot run by the same owners with very comfortable seating and even a prayer room. I remember looking over and thinking, "What is this place that's so full of life?" It was bustling with people and had such a great energy. I had never tried Egyptian food before, but I was feeling a little adventurous. I'm really glad I did. A few dishes were recommended, but I was told the Koshari is beloved in Egypt, so that's what I ordered. Be prepared for a bit of a carb coma, but it's absolutely worth it. It was delicious. The mix of pasta, rice, lentils, chickpeas, and crispy fried onions worked surprisingly well together, especially with the sauces they give you. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Toronto.

I had two friends with me who have lived in middle east and know their sheesha, they said their sheeshas are really high quality (even though it was the cheapest around). We also ordered Fries, Mango shake and a brownie, wasn't really expecting it to be good but just something to eat. However, Fries were AMAZING (with best garlic sauce), Mango shake looked really fancy and tasted pretty good and brownie wasn't bad either. The service, while a little on the slow side, was caring. Some things that were a little off: Place was very busy on a saturday night so environment got a little cramped. Lack of women customers, there was no other table other than ours which had a female presence. I've tried the chicken mandi and Greek salad (good). I love their Adani tea and because I'm a frequent patron, I accumulate lots of points. They provide a sample of it after your meal. During Ramadan, they provided a complimentary fruit platter for patrons, which I thought was a nice touch. Service is great. Servers are lovely, helpful and kind. The interior has been renovated since the last establishment. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and they are on top of their cleanliness, including the washroom. I hope they maintain their standard.

Once you enter, you feel the warmth and being transported to another culture due to its dynamic decor. We sat beside two green plants which was nice. The service was alright. But I felt that it's awkward when they don't offer the simple complimentary water. The lentil soup came hot and it warmed my soul. It was delicious. I could have another bowl. The fattoush salad had a nice light sour vinaigrette which was pleasantly a surprise. The bowl is hard pita bread that one can eat. The beef manakeesh was a disappointment as the dough was not chewy at all. Once it got cold, the dough got mushy. The presentation could have been improved. My partner had the tikka beef cubes and he enjoyed it but found it a bit plain. He commented that there was too much onions, and not enough beef to his liking. Shako Mako is a delightful and delicious experience from start to finish!…read more We visited Shako Mako on a quiet (and very snowy!) winter evening, and we came hungry and ready to eat after escaping the snow and cold. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly, and my eyes were probably bigger than my stomach on this evening, since I wanted to order half the menu for our party of four, but we eventually narrowed it down to the Mixed Appetizer Plate, Fattoush Salad, Beef Manakish, Traditional Dolma Platter, Falafel Platter, and the Family Plate. Also ordered a Lemon Mint Juice at the recommendation of staff. (Great recommendation, btw!) Wow, is all I need to say. The food and drink came quickly and we scrambled to find room for all of the plates that were showing up out of the kitchen; very large plates filled to the edges with delicious looking food. Digging in, I was impressed at how well cooked and seasoned all of the dishes were. I almost stole the entire M'Tabbal (part of the Mixed Appetizer Plate!) for myself, I think I ate extra portions of the Kabab Tawa without asking, and I found myself wanting to keep eating even though my stomach had raised the white flag. That Family Plate was also far larger than we had expected, and so we had plenty to take home. Overall, one of my favourite meals that I've had in recent memory, and I'm already itching to go back. Thank you so much, Shako Mako!
