    Tabbouleh

The biggest draw for me to this place is the freshly made pita bread that comes to the table hot and puffed up in a round white ball. It's delicious on it's own, but would go so well with any dip. We had the mixed grill, the tabbouleh and the Zaatar Manakeesh. The tabbouleh as great, as I love the fresh brightness of the parsley and mint. The manakeesh was lacking both flavor and salt, even though it looked really good. The mixed grill was okay, I liked the garlic sauce it came with the meat itself was nothing special. I've definitely had much better elsewhere. A mixed meal experience. Next time I would come for the pita and the dip and maybe skip the main.

I used to like the food here a few years back, and would eat here regularly when I was in the downtown core, and couldn't think of a place to eat. However, I recently went back for the first time after being away from the city for a few years, and no longer feel the same about this place. The food quality and taste did not seem to be the same. The fries weren't warm or that crispy that day, and the chicken was very dry. The service also wasn't as great during this visit. I'm not sure if it was because I was sitting by the windows at the front and they don't pay as much attention to customers there, or the staff was just bad. Waiting to have my order taken, and for the food to arrive took a long time even though they weren't that busy. When I finished my meal, our server was no where to be seen (probably on break) so we asked another person for the bill. The girl acknowledged it, but never brought it, even though she looked at our table a few times, and we couldn't ask someone else because no other servers came by the area. After about 10 to 15 minutes we were about to see if we could just walk up to the cash register to pay, when our server came by to check up on us, and then brought us our bill.

My wife and I went to Paramount before heading into Mirvish theater production. Location is great because it's just outside and a 32 second walk to the theater. We did reservation, but we were seated within about 10 minutes. We shared an appetizer which were three different types of hummus. Each were delicious and very different. One was a garlic one was red pepper, and one was more traditional. For dinner, we shared an entrée consisting of beef and chicken and lamb, which was served with rice and a few vegetables Again, this was delicious. The servers were great atmosphere was wonderful, and we eat here again in the heartbeat

    2 Skewers of Shish Twaook

I went here around closing time hoping to get takeout. Ordered Shish Twaok with rice. I waited and when the order came she told me they ran out of rice and were giving me fries as a substitute. I was disappointed and I had to ask them to refund. They agreed but it did not go through. So they adjusted for the price if Shush Twaok only. Which is fine. Also gave me two pitas. The portions size is small. The wait for the whole thing an hour. For a spur of the moment decision. They have lots of seating space. But this experience was tiring.

I was looking for a place to grab a quick meal after a long day travelling and Paramount was the perfect solution! Located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, it serves delicious Lebanese food at great prices. I had a mezze plate with a chicken shawarma sandwich and everything was really good. My server Mohamad was very kind and professional.

I love coming here for family breakfast; unfortunately they're not doing breakfast anymore but we still made do with a great brunch. They use fresh ingredients, and have authentic recipes with great taste. Here's a rundown of the food: - Chicken Shawarma: juicy chicken, love their garlic sauce, best with pickles and turnips - Labneh: loved this, it was deliciously creamy and perfectly spiced - Lentil Soup: good, a bit thick and not as hot as soup should be We also usually love the hummus, mixed grill, and fattoush salad. Overall would say a solid 3.5 stars, ideal for a healthy lunch. Being a chain restaurant, some of their locations (especially downtown) can be hit or miss, but I'd say this is by far their best downtown location.

Ordered from their website for lunch pick-up. The online ordering system had a glitch and we were unable to apply a 15% discount. The restaurant could not honour it, buf we still proceeded to order. I had a chicken shawarma with lentil soup. The shawarma was smaller compared to what I'm accustomed to, but it still tasted good. The lentil soup was creamy and nice, but adding the crispy pita chips on top elevated it.

Why does it look like someone took a bite of my fries??

Service was terrible here. Very disorganized. We came in and this man asked us how many people. We told him two - he acknowledged then walked away. Several groups of people walked in afterwards and were greeted by a hostess. She later came to us and asked how many people. We explained to her how we came earlier, and a man took our reservation for two but didn't write our names down. She acknowledged but did nothing. Ended up waiting for another 15 mins and got placed in these terrible seats near the front. The seating arrangements were awkward. Seats were way too low for the table , almost felt like I had to stand a bit to reach the table. We expressed our concern and again they acknowledged but did nothing It took 20 mins for them just to bring as water and this was after we had reminded them . The food that came was also unimpressive. Meat was a bit overcooked and tough. The portion felt really small for the price. The fries came out slightly mushed! How do you mess up fries? Prob will not return...

Paramount's Mixed Combo Platter: skewers (kafta, shish tawouk, beef tenderloin), shawarma (chicken, beef) and falafel balls

Paramount's Fine Food has grown over the years from a Lebanese restaurant to be quite a sprawling empire that's also laid claim to the Raptors905 home venue. Their CEO has even been campaigning for Kawhi to stay with the Toronto Raptors. So what's the secret to Paramount's success? I came to find out. The downtown location is situated conveniently across from the Eaton Centre. We came here for a lunch and was happy to find that they recently renovated to be more spacious and brighter inside. Their menu is filled with delicious traditional Middle Eastern dishes that I'd never even heard of. Fortunately some of the others who came with me were regulars and knew what to order! Friendly waitresses were attentive about taking our orders, returning with water/beverage and a steady flow of appetizers and mains. The pita bread was fluffy and warm. We had the Mixed Combo Platter: skewers (kafta, shish tawouk, beef tenderloin), shawarma (chicken, beef) and falafel balls. The six skewers were tender and juicy, while the shawarma were flavourful though a bit dry. The falafel balls were decent with the tahini and garlic dipping sauces. The platter along with rice and side dishes were enough to fill our group of six. The waitress was even kind enough to treat us to baklava for dessert. The meal was midrange in price point, and we had a pretty good lunch experience. They definitely have a loyal following of patrons and I'll be back soon.

This review is for Krispo Chicken by Paramount which is an offering by the same restaurant on Uber Eats. I was craving a fried chicken sandwich for lunch today and found this spot for delivery. I was pleasantly surprised when the Wicked chicken sandwich came with a free side of fries. The spicy level sandwich was very hot, similar to a Nashville chicken sandwich. There was also an inferno level, which much be excruciating spicy. The chicken was tender, crunchy, and white meat topped with pickles and their signature Nashville hot sauce between a golden bun. It also was very reasonably priced at $10, while many competitors fried chicken sandwiches are $15+ in the downtown area.

    Paramount Special Smoothie
    Yashaswita B.

This place was highly recommended by so many friends and it was also close to my hotel, so I thought I could give it a try. And I'm so glad I visited! The pita was huge, fresh and delicious. Muhammara was my favorite dip and the Paramount Special Smoothie was the best part of the meal. Very thoughtfully crafted.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures

There's always something going on in the area, so it makes it a lively place to grab food, especially at night. I went around 10 PM last night and it was packed. The ambience is pretty basic, it's a small joint with a few tables and chairs, nothing fancy. It's clean and organized, but you can't really expect some super aesthetic interior considering the location and the constant flow of people. There's limited seating, just enough for a few groups, so it definitely feels more like a takeout spot than somewhere you'd sit and hang out for a long time. They get a lot of customers, so you can expect a bit of a wait, but honestly the service was impressively fast. We waited maybe 5-10 minutes max for our food. We got it to go, and everything was ready quickly and handled efficiently. The main star of the show was the chicken shawarma wrap. It was delicious, crispy, flavourful, and packed with everything we asked for. The sauce was so good and really brought everything together. I definitely recommend adding the pomegranate molasses. It adds such a nice sweet tangy flavour and makes the wrap even better. Overall, it was a really good experience. Fast service, solid food, and a fun location right in the middle of the action. I'd definitely go back.

We had done a ton of walking and wanted a snack and a drink with a chance to rest the feet. One of the people we spoke to up the street claimed to love the place so here we are. I was just hoping for a juicier sandwich, instead we end up on the dry side. The cost is reasonable. The servers we spoke with were okay. Nothing exciting. I've heard many good things about Alpha's Shawarma and have never tried them until recently. Stepping into Alpha's Shawarma you are greeted by a long counter filled with ingredients as well as their shawarma meats which are on a vertical rotating spit. The cashier is towards the middle of the restaurant where there is quite a bit of seating at the back to enjoy your purchased items. There is also a small display of desserts as well next to the cashier. I opted to get a chicken shawarma saj with all the toppings (garlic sauce, hummus, pickles, turnips, onion & parsley, lettuce, tomato, tahini, and pomegranate molasses). I picked a table while waiting for my wrap to be made which took about less than 5 min. Service was friendly and they called out my order number on the loud speaker where I grabbed my wrap. The staff asked me if I wanted extra garlic sauce which I replied "yes!" where they placed more garlic sauce on my wrap. Sitting down, I took a nice bite out of my chicken shawarma. It was delicious - the chicken was moist and tender and the ingredients worked well together. Next time I do want to try the wrap with only Arabic toppings (garlic sauce, pickles, fries, and pomegranate molasses). However, I enjoyed all the toppings on my shawarma wrap which was also nicely toasted. The portion of the wrap was pretty big and I was full after I finished the whole thing. The garlic sauce was great - it was creamy and full of garlic flavour but not too overpowering. Overall, friendly service and a great place for shawarma near the Yonge-Dundas area. I totally understand why everyone's been talking about how delicious Alpha's Shawarma is!
