The place is clean and spacious, with both indoor seating and a patio. We ordered the Mix Kebab Combo for Two, and the portion was good enough for 3-4 people. The plate had a good variety of meats and no BS (unlike some other restaurants that throw fries on the plate and call it 'delicacy'). They also didn't dip everything into lamb oil to "enhance" the flavour - you could actually taste the meat itself. The beef was soft, the chicken was juicy, and the lamb was tender. They also offered free naan and dipping sauce, which was very nice. For dessert, we had baklava, $4 for a small piece, but we had no complaint considering the free appetizer earlier. We had the best time at Efendi, Rutherford location, on a snowy day. We really liked the family-friendly atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly and welcoming staff who delivered top-notch hospitality. We ordered "Mix Appetizers" to share, which was served with freshly baked Turkish bread. Spicy Mash had a bit of a kick, but not too spicy, which we enjoyed. Baba Ganoush, Haydari and Hummus were fresh and tasty. For main, we ordered "Efendi Lamb Chops", "Efendi Meat Shish Kebab", "Beyti Kebab", "Sac Tava" and "Spinach and Cheese Pide". Efendi Lamb Chops And Efendi Meat Shish Kebab were served on a hot sizzling plate which was really fun to watch and they were the most tender, juicy and flavourful ones we have ever had. Pide was fresh and the cheese was very tasty. Beyti Kebab had a bit of a kick to it which we really loved; we also enjoyed the combination of yogurt and Spicy Mash; it was a great combination with the veal wraps. Sac Tava was a great combination of cubed beed, green peppers and spices. We loved every bite of our food. We ended on a sweet note with freshly made "Kunefe" and of course Turkish coffee. I had such an amazing experience at Ziyafet Kebab Modern Turkish Cuisine! From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. I visited Efendi for lunch after seeing it on social media. They do not take reservations for lunch so plan accordingly as there might be a wait. It was fairly busy when I arrived. Once inside, they have utilized the space well. The ambiance was lovely. We tried different items on the menu. Baba Ganoush was my favourite, the texture of the spread was smooth, there are pieces of eggplant cooked to perfection. It was paired with fresh bread. Complimentary Salad was fresh & tangy, the portions was large. Adana Kebab was packed with flavour! Beyti Kebab was served on a bed of yogurt, this was oozing with spices was delicious. Kenefe, it was alright, ours didn't pull apart all cheesy. Overall, I enjoyed our lunch. However, the excellent food made up for it Had Adana kebob and chicken shish kebob. If you are good with lamb smell, then you should definitely go for Adana. Efendi does not look like super appealing via its storefront. I picked it as a lunch place with a friend based on pictures I saw online. I was really drawn in by the intricate China that they served tea and desserts on if I'm being honest. My friend and I got the platter for 2 and it was a feast. Everything was so delicious and presented beautifully. There were so many good menu options and I felt like this was a perfect sampler of a little bit of everything. I feel like it could probably feed 4 people to be honest - it was a ton of food (but they have a 4 person platter as well). My only suggestion is that the platter should come with serving spoons. We also got Turkish tea which was also delish and presented in the cutest little teacups and saucers - I loved it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone stopping by this area (a little far from Toronto downtown - but if you find yourself out here, check it out!) Sadly this place did not meet our expectations. Excited to try this new place, we had a reservation on the weekend for dinner. Once we realized we were going to be a little late (15 mins) we made sure to call the restaurant to let them know but unfortunately no one answered the phone. When we arrived at the restaurant 15 mins after our reservation, we were met with a feeble lecture from the host which we felt was half expected but once we told him that we tried to call and no one answered that really should have been the end of that since there isn't anything else someone can do. After the "greeting" we were seated at our table and that's when the waiting began. We waited for a very long time while not one single waiter (and there were many) came by to greet us or ask if we were ready to order or even offer water. No one was even willing to make eye contact, it was very weird. We eventually realized this was the type of situation where we needed to make the first move. Once we awkwardly flagged someone down, we made sure to order everything at once knowing this was not going to be a "service-oriented" type of place. As for food, we ordered the baba ganoush which felt more like yogurt than eggplant. We had some efendi salads which were very sour and not refreshing at all. Seriously, I've never had a salad I don't like. We ordered $38 lamb chops which were alright but pricy for such an establishment and the beyti kabob which was small for the amount they were charging ($27). There was also a fruit fly circling around which honestly added to the poor experience. All in all we didn't get a good feeling from this place. With the prices they're charging, they really need to step it up. I wish we could like this place, but unfortunately it'll be a hard pass read more

This place is wonderful. Some restaurant's appeal is with their scenery, some with how good the food looks. This place is all that AND the food is delicious. Seriously I can't understate how good the kebab and sides were. Make sure to not skip out on the tea and desserts. Definitely the cherry on top for my family and I.
