Had dinner with some family and friends for a celebrations and really enjoyed it. Tried the elote, nachos and vegetarian molcajete. The elote were very good but the nachos were excellent. Probably the most loaded baked nachos I've had. The molcajete was like a stewed version of fajitas with carrots, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese served in a volcanic bowl with tortillas, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes. This was very flavourful and tasty. For dessert we ordered their dessert platter which included churros, fried ice cream and a piece of dulce de leches came. I tried a piece of the cake which was really delicious. One of the best cakes I have had. read more

My friends and I normally do not venture out to try Mexican places but this place I was looking forward to because of the reviews. I got the large famous nachos to share with the table of 4 and myself a chicken chimichanga. Portion wise, it was crazy!! Nachos were cheesy and loaded with so many toppings. Burrito was not bad as well and I liked the side that came with it. Near the end of our meal, we really struggled to finish what we ordered haha. Mexican coke with the meal was a good pairing. Fairly bigger than the Richmond hill location. The servers were really friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks took a little longer to come out but was worth it when they did. I still dream about the Mangonada. The tres leches was also pretty delicious. Tons of pictures were taken by their wall mural. Was there on Valentine's Day and they had a special menu that was quite good. It kicked off with a thematic red beet soup that was fresh. Tortillas with salsa and guacamole which I enjoyed and I am not usually big on guac. From there, more typical Mexican fare. We chose the fajitas; chicken for one and shrimp for the other. Again everything was fresh, authentic, and tasty. Maybe the grated cheese was grocery store variety, but was OK. Serving size was more than enough. We could not finish everything. Perhaps it's best to dine at the restaurant in person. Our company ordered $200+ worth of food for lunch with UberEats delivering the order to us. The food was not piping hot. And a few items were messed up. A major part of the order was a request for five burritos...three baked burrito grandes and two fried chimichangas. We ended up with two baked and three fried. One individual ordered an orange Jarritos soda. What did we get? Mango. Don't get me wrong. The food was alright, despite not being hot. We ordered the ceviche with chips to start, which was super fresh and flavorful. The sizzling queso was a must try. cheesy and delicious. For mains, we had the steak fajitas and birria tacos. The fajitas were tender and perfectly seasoned, and the birria tacos with the consommé were next level delicious. The drinks were great too. a non-alcoholic mojito and pina colada, both super refreshing. We ended with the dessert platter (churros, fried ice cream, and tres leches), and wow--it was the perfect sweet finish. Great food and 19/10 awesome service. We're Definitely coming back. This place is tucked away in a plaza, and is much bigger than it looks from the outside. They have live music here which I will always support, although I was here for a business Lunch and didn't witness it. Just the fact that it's there is good enough! The menu had a lot of taco options, and other Mexican fare like chimichangas, fajitas and the like. I had the crispy avocado tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. You get three, but enough tortillas to make 6 little guys so it is filling. The service was great, no complaints there. I would definitely come back to try some other menu items since they all seemed enticing. The one complaint I might make is that it's rather expensive.. $25 for 3 tacos is a lot. I don't mind paying for good tasting food and a great experience though, so it's not preventing me from coming back. read more

The restaurant is quite busy, having very loud and highly social ambience. Their menu offers interestingly different items which is generally not found in most Mexican restaurants. We had Seafood Molcajete (shrimps, mussels, calamari and octopus in a hot lava rock bowl in cheese and salsa gravy) and Shredded Beef Enchiladas. This place is ridiculous. I took my neice out for her 25th bday and we were kicked out after 1.5 hours. I was shocked and so embarrassed. Went over to Tim's for coffee as we were not able to have coffee there and there were 2 other groups who were kicked out as well. Definitely a first for me. Shane as I had a big 60th bday party I was going to book for 3 weeks from now. I'll go somewhere else as it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and it wasn't just the fake fish. Your management needs to not treat its customers like they are going to a drive through. Shame on you all. read more

My family and I came here on Family day, right when they opened at noon. I believe we were the first group there but the place quickly began to fill up over the course of the next hour. Service from the start was already great, as we got asked what type of seating we wanted (i.e. a booth by the window or a table more to the back /inside of the restaurant). Being a beautiful sunny day, our group decided for the booth - it was spacious, comfortable, and I liked that we got to enjoy the sun without it blinding our eyes. We were quickly offered menus and inquired if we wanted drinks. We just got water all around but I did look at the drink menu as well. Variety is quite vast, with lots of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Overall, it seemed like their beverages were on the pricier side but peeking at other tables later, I did notice that their drink presentation was phenomenal - bright, colorful, and lots of fun glasses and cups. Definitely Instagram-worthy. Speaking of such, I loved the decor, where they had some murals and little knick knacks on the shelves. Our group quickly came to the decision of ordering two sets of BIRRIA TACOS and I, myself, got the QUESABIRRIA. I highly recommend the Quesabirria! Not your average quesadilla, even in terms of presentation! This "Quesabirria" was thick, not flattened, and is stuffed and loaded with shredded beef, Pico de Gallo, lettuce, and cheese. It is also topped with guacamole, aioli, and a grilled jalapeno. The meat was juicy and tender, and the overall dish was very flavorful. It comes with a side salad - nothing too exciting about it but it was nice to have a side of veggies. 10/10 would recommend and get again! The birria tacos were also well made. The tacos themselves were crisp, with juicy and tender meat, and a healthy helping of cheese (enough for a cheese pull!) The consomme was also delicious and paired well. This dish came with a side of beans and mexican rice. All in all, portions were great! Again, service was amazing. We were rounded on about three times during our stay, to see if things were good and/or if we needed anything. We also got a refill on our waters once. This restaurant was a little bit of a let down. We shared some nachos, with guacamole. It was a little salty, both the chips and the guacamole. For my drink I had a virgin mango slush, and it was loaded with lime and sugar, I wasn't able to drink it, but also wasn't able to send it back because it took for ever for us to flag waitstaff. My meal was a burrito, I got the veggie one, which essentially means large flour tortilla with lots of rice and a sprinkle of beans and cheese, and I think 3-4 thin slices of bell pepper. We wanted dessert, but the entire time we had to text each other because the music playing that night, which was live, with some guy sitting at the front of the restaurant with a blaring speaker on, was so loud I couldn't t hear my own voice or my party who was little sitting in front and next to me. Not sure that I would want to go back for mediocre food at best, and some guy sitting at the front of the restaurant drowning the rest of the conversations with his incredibly loud music. I am always on the lookout to try something new, and was delighted that to find a unique item on their menu. They serve Volcanic bowl molcajetes, filled to overflowing with your choice of mixed grill, veggie or seafood. Being a seafood lover, I naturally went for the seafood option. I was very impressed by two large octopus tentacles, multiple shrimps, generous calamari and mussels all in a tomato sauce. We had just spent several hours at Canada's Wonderland, where we were dismayed at the lack of interesting, larger-than-life food items (Pizza Pizza? Really??), so we made our way away from the park and decided to hit 3 Mariachis. We got a nice table inside and began perusing their extensive menu. I had settled on a burrito when my dining companion pointed me to the Mariachi Platter ("Chicken Enchilada, Chorizo taco, and Shredded beef Burrito, Mexican rice, and refried black beans. Topped with cabbage and Pico de Gallo.") It sounded like the perfect way to indulge on a day off work. It arrived about 20 minutes later and was sure intimidating. I did like, however, how everything has been split into two, which made sharing a snap. I started with the Chorizo taco and thought it was...fine. The components were all decent enough, but it lack in any interesting, bold flavors and the whole thing ate excessively dry. I added one of the included sauces and that improved it considerably. Likewise, the Chicken Enchilada was well made but far from memorable. That Shredded Beef Burrito, on the other hand, was magnificent. It was so tasty and loaded with an impressive amount of some of the most delicious and tender shredded beef I've eaten in a good long while. Next time I'll certainly order just a burrito, if that one was any indication. And while the meal wasn't cheap, it probably cost us less than it would've to eat a boring, overpriced hamburger and fries at Wonderland. read more

I did prefer sitting on our own table as I don't generally like to eat by the bar, but the bartender was wonderful and kept asking us if we needed anything and was helpful in any way he could be despite being super busy. Before we walked into 3 Mariachis, one of my boys pointed to the sign outside the restaurant that read "it's worth the wait". I suppose we were pre-warned about the potential wait for our food? Was it worth wait??? I guess it depends on the purpose of your visit. I know that other reviews have mentioned about the pleasant service that they had received. While the service was polite, I found it rather non-descript and lacking flare. For a fancier Mexican restaurant, I expected better. I mentioned about the wait for the food. On a Friday afternoon, where the restaurant was not super busy, the wait for 2 kids menu cheese quesadilla and a mariscada was about 25 - 30 minutes. It wasn't a horrible wait (I'm sure my hungry kids have something to say about that), but it was definitely longer than expected. First came the mariscada and then a little while after came the 2 quesadillas. I personally enjoyed the mariscada. For $23, there was plenty of seafood (calamari, fish, squid and mussels). The dish was served in one of those fancy rim past/soup bowl. I like how most of the seafood and rice were piping hot. However, the 6 or so mussel sat on the rim portion for presentation purposes. The temperature of the mussels were at best lukewarm and I'd much prefer that they were hot like the other stuff in the bowl. I liked the tequila sauce where it's got a slight kick with a good mix of acidity and garlicky taste. The cilantro gave the rice a refreshing balance to the slightly creamy dish. The seafood used seem to be a mix of fresh seafood and the frozen variety. The seafood didn't blow me away from a freshness standpoint, but they were adequate. As for the kids' quesadilla. It was alright. The portion was good. As much as my kids and I like cheese, I think they overdid the cheese in the quesadilla and made the thing too heavy. As the clitche goes, "there's sometimes too much of a good thing". Also, the cheese seems to be the run of the mill Black Diamond block cheese variety. I'm hoping that they would something more authentic. The quesadilla came with sour cream and a zesty quesadilla sauce. You also get a choice of either corn chips or rice. My kids opted for the chips which were good, but the sauce was very similar to the quesadilla sauce minus the heat. If you are visiting 3 Mariachis on weekend evenings where there's a live band rocking or if you are not in a hurry and is hanging out with your amigos and having a few adult beverages, then perhaps it's worth the wait. If you are coming here purely for the food, while you won't be disappointed, perhaps it won't blow you away. read more

Only reason I gave 3 stars is because it tastes nowhere close to authentic Mexican food, the red enchilada sauce tasted like an Italian rose sauce and the green enchilada sauce was better but more of an avocado crema. Beef inside was good and was good otherwise! Ordered the queso with chorizo and I liked it but it's just melted cheese so super heavy and not what I expected. It's also pretty expensive. For a place with glowing reviews, I expected so much more, but it seems like the bar of my fellow reviewers is set at Taco Bell. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and chorizo tacos. The enchiladas are different than what I'm used to but were still tasty. The chorizo tacos on the other hand were terrible - it really just tasted like low quality ground pork with no pepper flavour whatsoever. I stopped here for dinner while on my way to Canada's wonderland as it was close by. For the appetizer I order the nachos which were pretty good and the portion size was big. For the main, my friend and I shared the Mariachi Platter. The platter came with chicken enchiladas, tacos, a burrito, Mexican rice, and refried black beans. The platter was huge and delicious. We went here for my birthday last Sunday and had a blast. They have great drink selections and great food - I posted pictures. As for the one star review also posted, please don't let these "Social Media Influencers" extort local businesses - they come in looking for discounts or extras and when they don't get them they go off. Good food costs money and if you don't like the prices go eat dog food at Taco Bell. They are barely two weeks old and there are still a few rough edges - don't destroy someone's dream because you are having a bad day. Yes the menus are on paper because they aren't ready yet. Yes they are a little more expensive than the hipster food truck you usually fill your face from - it's a brick and mortar bar and grill so yes the food is more expensive but there is more selection, atmosphere and they have like 50 kinds of tequila. If you want to give a 1 star review because you prefer the fish sticks from McDonald's over hand made food with love then that's on you. The owner came to our table to see how we are doing and when he found out it was my birthday he said "You can't leave without churro! You need something sweet for your birthday!" Then he came out with the waitresses with comp churros with a candle, and made me wear a sombrero while they sang happy birthday. I'm sorry you don't think you got enough rice and beans.
