My favourite taco spot in Toronto! I came here with some friends and we got nachos and a platter of 20 tacos to share. The tacos are always juicy and tasty. My favourite tacos here are the sirloin and al pastor, but all of them are delicious. The horchata is also nice and refreshing. It's always crowded when I come on weeknights but I've never had to wait too long for a table. Parking is a bit tricky but there's some side streets nearby for street parking.

It was busy on a Friday night during dinner time, but we were sat right away. The atmosphere is pretty loud, and they also have live music. I had high expectations coming here, but was sadly a bit disappointed. This is probably because the best tacos I've had in Mexico and Vegas are hard to beat. To be fair, for Toronto standards I would say that these are pretty good. For me, the tacos were lacking a bit of flavour - I think a bit more cilantro, onions, and salt would have fixed this. The al pastor tacos were much better than the sirloin (the meat was dry), but both were just underwhelming to me. The corn tortillas were also a bit oily and lacking in taste. On a more positive note, the tacos do come with a lot of meat. The service felt very slow. The table beside us sat down a while after us, but they got their food first (it was the same dish we ordered). The server also waited 20 mins after ordering to tell us that what we wanted (carne asada tacos) was sold out. Overall I wouldn't be dying to come back here but it's a decent option if you want some good simple tacos.

Great value for terrific food and live music in North York! On a Saturday night at 6:15, it was already packed, and we had to wait about 15-20 minutes. It seemed like the majority of the customers were Latino, so that should already tell you something about how good this is! There was a singer who started performing at 8:00, but he was so nondescript that many people didn't even notice him-- no spotlight, no introduction; just a guy in a ball cap, plaid shirt, and jeans crooning away underneath the onscreen recap of a boxing match. His voice was so smooth, and just the perfect volume. In terms of food, the standouts were the nachos al pastor (it came with meat, pineapple, and guacamole) and the strawberry daiquiri (a decently-priced, generous portion). The saltiness of the nachos were perfect with the sweetness of the daiquiri. Tip: Do not try to park next door, in front of the pizza place. The poor servers have to walk around with a picture of the car to look for the customer who parked there. There's plenty of free parking in the neighbourhood around the restaurant!

I can on a Saturday afternoon with friends. They don't take reservations, and my friend said it gets very busy very fast, so we got there about 10 minutes after it opened. When we arrived, it was already maybe a quarter full. We were seated right away. We ordered 3 types of tacos (suadero, Al pastor, and one of the specials), as well as a place of nachos with added beef. The portion of the nachos were HUGE and they were very cheesy and loaded with goodness. The tacos themselves were also well-loaded with varying degrees of flavour. My favourite was the special (which I don't recall the name unfortunately)) followed by the suadero. We also had a bunch of nachos left over to take home. There was a long line-up by the time we left, so definitely arrive early if you want a seat!

Honestly food was very good!! The place looks like it's always crowded so be prepared to wait for a little while. Drinks are also good!

Dropped in on Friday around 6 and the restaurant was almost full. I'd recommend coming early! Got the chips and guacamole & queso (mozzarella) to start. The queso was not melted and very difficult to eat... wouldn't recommend. Also got the 4 piece al pastor tacos which came generously with meat. My friend got the sirloin and it was very tender.

The tacos here are as authentic to Mexico as you can find in Toronto. They have tortas here is well. Complimentary totopos are brought to the table. There are 4 salsas to try. One is sweet and one it hot. The others are tame. There is a good selection of meats to choose from. Portions are generous. Drink and cocktails are available too. Parking sucks. You may have to look around the neighborhood to find a space.

Delicious tacos. We were surprised there was a special that day (Wed) it was buy one get one al pastor tacos. I tried the al pastor, steak and shredded beef. I liked the steak one the most but al pastor was pretty good too. Service was good. Every table got a free bowl of chips as well. Would recommend and come back again

Amazing taco spot! Food is so good and the staff are super friendly. Special shout out to Mauricio who made our experience amazing! This place regularly has lines from how popular it is, especially around weekends and warmer months. The vibes are so fun inside with mariachi bands playing and football on the TVs. Every taco is absolutely delicious, my favourite being al pastor with the sweetness of the pineapple. They offer a variety of sauces to pair with your taco, in addition to complementary fresh made tortilla chips. Definitely recommend stopping by if you can, the wait is worth it!

best taco in TOWN!!!! true authentic mexican tacos found in this north york spot. Parking is very limited and can get super busy so a wait for a table could take some time but food is worth the wait. Our favourites are the al pastor, sirloin, carna asada and chorizo tacos!! sooo flavourful and not stingy on the meat. They also give fresh chips and salsa at the start of your meal and their homemade pineapple salsa is out of the world!!! Always look forward to coming back!

This is my go to place for tacos. Their sirloin tacos are absolutely amazing. If I had to pick one meal for the rest of my life it would be this lol!

If you're driving on Sheppard this establishment might not catch your eye. However now that I know it exists I NEED to go back. We went there an hour before it closed and there was still a line up to get in. Not only that there was live music - it was such a fun experience. The food, AMAZING! Reminded me of tacos I got when I was in LA not even a week before. I cannot wait to go back and try more food items. It says a lot when my picky of an eater husband even plans to come back. I got the Al Pastor tacos and everything was so flavourful!!!

Such a great spot in Toronto for Mexican food/drinks. Everything I've eaten here so far has been amazing. First things first, when you get here it's limited parking in the back so you'll maybe have to find a spot somewhere else . There's been someone at the front to greet you and as you enter the restaurant there's pretty great energy. You can sit there for a min and know that all the staff work together like a well oiled machine. As soon as you sit down, shortly after you're welcomed with chips and salsa. Now for the food. All the meats have good flavour and they have multiple meats on spits for rotation in the kitchen. They have plenty of options to choose from and to be honest it really reminded me of tacos you'd get in the states...which if you know you know type of vibe- amazing. Drinks are also various and depending on what you want, they've probably got your classics and more. Would totally recommend this spot to someone and it has been added to a Toronto fav.

When I went to the basement washroom, I swear I saw what looked like the end of a mouse's tail sticking out from under the door. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him honestly that it was terrible. I had only taken two bites, and there was really no response. The place is a bit small so it can be a bit tight so I would highly recommend having reservations if you have a large group. Tacos: The soft and the crispy tacos were both delicious. My wife and I just recently completed our 4th visit to this Michelin-starred masterpiece. We did make the mistake this time of sitting at the Chef's Counter in the middle of summer with the fire grills going, but it's such an amazing experience to watch them all be pros at what they do that it makes you forget about the sweat. Sitting at the bar is also equally fun with the engaging bartenders. The service and the ambiance of the long, corridor-like place is just incredible. The darker lit atmosphere gives it a really intimate but welcoming feel. And every server or bartender or chef we've talked to there has been equally friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. We also absolutely love the fact that virtually everything is naturally gluten free (perfect for those with celiac!). This time around, we got the mushroom and shishito peppers (I don't even like mushrooms with the firm texture but these ones were insanely tender I would happily eat them whenever), tuna tiradito, empanada, and bone marrow and shrimp (not sure we've ever had bone marrow before or that we'd get it again, but it was definitely an interesting flavor and not a disappointment in the least). We also had a solo regular sit next to us who happily gave us a piece of his tlayuda which was maybe the best of what we got the entire night. Dessert was the coconut nicuatole, which was the perfect cherry (or pineapple) on top of another perfect dinner. In the past, we've also heavily enjoyed the scallop ceviche and coal roasted sweet potato and our friend also raved about the whole seabream. Their cocktails are also on point and the tasting menu with drink pairing is also hugely fun but come ready to leave stuffed because it's a LOT. Best restaurant ever and I can't wait to go back again!

The bluefin tuna was pristine, buttery, and incredibly fresh, while the char-grilled octopus was perfectly tender with a beautiful smoky depth of flavor. The standout for me was the hanger steak, cooked beautifully and paired with a rich peppercorn sauce that elevated every bite. Beyond the outstanding food, the service was impeccable--attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced without ever feeling intrusive. Quetzal is a Michelin star experience that lives up to the acclaim, delivering bold flavors, refined execution, and genuine hospitality. An unforgettable meal and a restaurant I would gladly return to.
