One of the best tacos that I've had in a long time. For the price, it is good quality and quantity. One is exactly what you need for a quick snack or two is a light meal. They are generous with their meat and toppings so you feel like each dish substantial. We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was a continuous flow of patrons in a note. We got the Barbacoa taco and the Carnita quesadilla and both were excellent. Definitely worth checking out for some great Mexican food. read more

Great taco spot and affordable. $5 for tacos. Enjoyed the chicken and Birria the most and their hot sauce is spicy! The fish was smaller than you expect and filled with a lot of lettuce. I am a big fan of Gus Tacos, especially the one on Bloor and the other location on Dupont. I have to say that although the quality is high, this is my least favourite location for the taste. Service was fast, and menu items were consistent and reasonably priced. The portion size I got was huge, but my three tacos were very bland. The ingredients were fresh as always but lacked seasoning. There is seating inside. Washrooms are down a narrow staircase. There is no automatic door opener. Large fan in the restaurant for a hot day. read more

Ordered takeout off of DoorDash and it was worth every penny! Great value and really good flavour. I didn't enjoy the horchata but it was also my very first one so I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like. The chips and guacamole was amazing and the burrito was perfect. Yikes, we ordered from this place because of the raving reviews online via uber eats and our experience was so disappointing. We ordered a chicken taco and bowl. The bowl was incredibly small and iceberg lettuce basically held up the bowl. There was also no flavour because they did not pack us any salsa. So the bowl just felt like mouthfuls of iceberg lettuce with no flavour. The chicken taco was a good size for the price to be honest. But it also did not come with salsa! Reading the reviews here on yelp, raving about the sauces really made me even more disappointed. The overall experience was bland and boring. I am very hesitate to order again. I was walking down queen and I saw this little spot!!! I was so excited to see a taco spot like this open in the neighborhood. It's a short but straightforward menu. Fewer selections are offered so something I would want like shrimp were missing but that's okay. We had the fish, carnitas and chicken tacos as well as the mushroom and fish quesadilla. We food hopped on queen west and stopped by Gus tacos because if you see Gus tacos, it'd be foolish not to eat here. We've eaten at Gus tacos in Kensington but never at queen west. So, the overall experience is pretty consistent. The ambiance is pretty simple but the food is packed with flavors especially their sauces which you can't settle for just one! We had the pollo (chicken) taco and my only minor complaint is seasoning. The chicken is not adequately seasoned. I hope they can fix it. The service is always quick. Somehow I hadn't heard of Gus Tacos when an invite was made a few days ago, but it turns out the place has been around for a while and even has a few locations around the city. Who knew? Anyway, we arrived at around lunch on a recent Sunday and were able to snag one of the scant tables outside. And although the place has "taco" right in its name, I decided to order a burrito - even though previous attempts at ordering a burrito from taco joints have backfired miserably. I went with the Carnitas Burrito ("Served in 12'' flour tortilla with beans, cheese, guacamole, lettuce, chipotle mayo and your choice of protein"), and the large concoction was ready just a little while later. My worries about the quality of Gus Tacos' burrito couldn't possibly have been more unfounded, as it's one of the best burritos I've eaten in quite some time. All the components work really well together, and the meat was flavorful and tender. The included hot sauce, which is impressively spicy, just takes the whole thing over the top. So good. I'll definitely be returning to try some of their actual tacos, though it's going to be difficult to resist that burrito. read more

Loved it! Drove past a million times but first time at Gus Tacos. Place was pretty busy but moved the line well. Staff were excellent and helpful with menu. After having driven past Gus Tacos for a while, I finally decided to try it out. It's on the pricier side with $5/taco (even though the tacos are on the larger side). I tried the Beef, Barbacoa, Carnitas and Chicken. The tacos were fresh and the tortilla was light and thin. The meat servings were generous and you can tell the focus wasn't to add a lot to it. Basic garnishments and sauces only. They give sauces on the side and the hot sauce is amazing!! My favourites were the Barbacoa and Carnita! I wouldn't order the steak or chicken again. Bland. My husband and I ordered 4 different tacos. the grilled pork was just that--dryish cooked pork. The pork taco was better when combined w pineapple (I think that was called a pastor). We found all of the tacos to be bland. We'd never eaten at a taco place before (we make them at home) and aren't familiar with what they "should" be when bought in a resto, but these were just meat, cilantro and chopped onions on a small tortilla for $5 with a tasty salsa. By the time I got to my third taco, the tortilla was getting soggy. I have bought tortillas at an authentic Mexican tienda, and at grocery stores; none went soggy and chewy simultaneously after sitting for awhile. The employees were efficient and friendly. The place was very busy at 5 pm on a Saturday. Can't imagine lining up for these bland tacos. Is Gus making the meat in large batches at a central location...and not keeping up standards?? This place was great! Really good food and service. The place was a little small but it still had a lot of seating. I went for a work lunch and still managed to fit all 14 of us. I got 3 tacos and for $5 a taco I'd say worth it. I got the Beef, pork and chicken nachos with mild salsa. The chips and guacamole was so good too. I posted a 5 star review after trying their chicken burrito, but I've since tried their taco and quesadilla.... no Bueno. The tacos just have shredded chicken in some sauce with cilantro on top (onions optional). No salsa, guacamole, sour cream OR cheese! Their quesadillas are exactly the same but $2 more. The blaring radio is also an annoyance. When I initially called for pick up, the music in background was so loud he couldn't hear me..... so he hung up. They seem like lovely but very young people and as much as I want them to succeed, they've got a lot of learning to do. read more
