The building is rather old and the restaurant is located on the second floor with no elevators or escalators; so no accessibility options are provided to seniors or disabled. The restaurant is nicely decorated with traditional ornaments and decorations. The service is rather slow, especially if you come in as a group. The food is just okay; kebabs are not flavorful, but cooked well. Lamb shank, too.

Ordered the lamb shank which was perfectly cooked with fall off the bone tenderness. Comes with a slight curry sauce and herbed rice. Also got the eggplant which was smoky, some garlic and came with huge amounts of basmati rice. They give a lot of rice. Decor is beautiful and window overlooks the trees. Service was fast. We recommend the place.

We came from NYC to attend a school reunion and my review is really for the Kebab Torsh! I have had kebabs in NYC and LA. This Kebab Torsh was amazing! It was a mix of both worlds, Kebab and Fesenjan! The sauce on this Kebab tasted like Fesenjan! This is a Northern dish and now I will have to come back to Toronto for this! This was a catered event and the staff was very attentive and provided great service! Beautiful restaurant next to the Pan Pacific hotel.

The service here was great, very attentive and fast. The food was delicious and I am blown away that this place doesnt have higher ratings!?! Portion size is huge for the price. Five of us ate off of two meals and a side order of the yogurt dip which was AMAZING. We were there on a Monday evening and it was empty, so if you're looking for a slower, quiet evening, go on a Monday. Last time we were there on a different day of the week, it was full.

I ate here with a group of 8. The place is a bit hard to find - the parking lot is private for a hotel and looks like it charges, but they let you out for free. The entrance is awesome, full of Persian artwork and sculptures that remind me of the British Museum. The food is excellent and includes a variety of classic Persian cuisine (Ghormeh Sabzi), along with some fairly hard to find dishes such as Alo Mosama. I also tried pomegranate ice cream for the first time! Everything was very tasty, the tahdigg was great and the service was very good. Highly recommended; my host said it is the best Persian in Toronto and I believe it.

The food and ambience was amazing! I always look forward to going there with my family. We were so excited about the food that we forgot to take any pictures lol

I have been wanting to try Persian food for months and I don't know why it took forever to get here. The food was amazing, meat was tender and juicy, the bread was fresh, the rice and sides were full of flavour. The service was exceptional! There are so many other dishes I'd like to try so we'll definitely be coming back here very shortly

Stepping into the restaurant, you automatically get this really traditional decor that feels like you've been transported into a Persian stone house restaurant! I LOVE me some Persian food, so I had my standards set pretty high. We started the night off with some appetizers that came with in-house made bread. However, my favourite part of the night was the main entrees. //APPETIZERS// Although, there was an open part of the kitchen where you saw a lady making the bread to order, it unfortunately tasted very dry & bland. The bread was also very thin & crackly. We did order some great dip appetizers though so that helped salvaged the bread. Maast Mouseir (3/5) - shallot in yogurt, was just OK. Kashke Bademjan (5/5) - My go-to order at every Persian restaurant since it's such a savoury medley of eggplant and fried onion goodness. I love the touch of mint they added. //ENTREES// Baghali polo & mahicheh (5/5)- Lamb shank stew with broth and dill rice. I chose to have half shirazi salad (tomato, cucumber & onion) and half rice. Even with that request, they still gave a TON of rice so the portions were very filling to say the least! To kick up the already AMAZINGLY unique dill rice, try 1) pouring some of the broth soup onto the rice and eating it, 2) adding butter into the warm rice, OR 3) sprinkle the sumac powder generously. Alright, now that I've raved enough about the dill rice.. the lamb. It was juicy and FALL OF THE BONE perfection and seasoned wonderfully with no 'gamey' taste! The soup had the same seasoning and lamb flavour but it was really salty so I couldn't finish it. Gheimeh Gademjan (5/5) - another hearty and flavour packed stew! The cubed lamb pieces were very tender and moist, while the vegetable component of the eggplant & split peas soaked up the savoury stew and blended the flavours wonderfully. //OVERALL// I absolutely loved the decor and food here. The only thing I was disappointed in was the 'fresh' in-house made bread. I would be thrilled to come back here for another special occasion dinner.

It was an open buffet, and the staff checked on us a few times throughout our visit, making sure everything was okay and that we had what we needed. The ambiance was really nice, and I honestly loved the vibe of the place. There was a belly dancer, and she was really nice and added a fun, lively touch to the overall experience. The food was good overall. It wasn't too bad at all, and I enjoyed what I tried, though I do wish there had been a bit more variety to choose from. Even so, everything was still tasty and satisfying. Dessert was also good and a nice way to end the meal. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with good service, a nice atmosphere, and enjoyable food, and I would definitely consider going back.

The take-out counter was open, so we opted for that instead. Most of the foods on display were ready-to-go and vegetarian / vegan. You can also order manakeesh (Lebanese flatbread topped with toppings such as cheese, spinach, and za'atar - akin to thin-crust pizza) to be made on site. We opted for the vegetarian mix-and-match plates, which came with either rice or salad, 5 small sides, and 3 falafels. Most of the items were pretty good, my favourites being the arnabeet (cauliflower), eggplant with chickpeas and tomato-based sauce, bamya (okra), and white cannellini beans salad. The warak enab (also called dolma or stuffed grape vine leaves) was flavourless and had too much ratio-to-grape vine leaves ratio (more rice inside that I'd like). The tabbouleh was way too salty. The other dishes were good though. Although the manakeesh was made fresh to order, it came out pretty fast. It was also extremely salty. There were a few small tables by the take-out counter, for those who wish to eat the take-out items on the spot. They packaged all the items very well to avoid leakage.

Well-lit, slightly modern looking decor, comfy atmosphere that's pretty casual. Lots of different people helped us out, took our order, brought food etc. but it felt like the service while good, was just slightly below great. We got the veggie clay pot and the mixed grill to share between two people, and my son got a fattoush salad and the kebbeh. The mixed grill was great, all the meats were flavourful, and tender/juicy. It came with a lamb/beef kebab, some beef tenderloin, and some chicken. I think there were roast potatoes too, but my memory is a bit fuzzy on that part. The veggie stew was poured onto a plate of bulgur and was really really good. Lots of flavour, all the veggies (carrots, cauliflower, onions, etc.) were tender. the juices ran through the bulgur which made for a great side dish to go with the meat. The kebbeh was tasty but still a bit disappointing -- there were only three, and didn't feel like quite enough to make a meal. Luckily the fattoush salad was huge otherwise my son would have left the restaurant hungry. Compared to some of the dishes we saw on other tables, this dish seems to be an outlier in terms of quantity of food, and it's certainly not worth the $28 price; I wouldn't recommend it. Despite the disappointment with the one meal, all the food was delicious and I still felt like the meal on the whole was good value, and I wouldn't mind going back to try some of their other dishes.

Darbar had absolutely hands down the most delicious kabob koobideh and polo (rice) I have ever tasted. I'm also picky about my koobideh and this was the absolute BEST. I wish we lived in Toronto so we didn't have to wait until another trip to go back! PROS: The kabob had the perfect amount of flavor and was not too dry and not too greasy. The rice also was made to perfection, again fluffy and buttery tasting without being greasy or heavy. Both were mouth-wateringly delicious! In addition to the main entree, everything else, including the side vegetables were all incredibly fresh and tasty. The portion size was huge. At first I thought this place is expensive but then I realized that the size of each "seekh" (skewer) was almost double other places. My kids loved that it came with bread (surprisingly other Persian restaurants seem to skimp on that or charge extra). I loved the "sabzi khordan" (greens) that came with the bread. Even the cheese and walnuts were tastier that what I have at home! The service was excellent. A lovely young women named Pegah served us and couldn't have been any nicer. She wasn't fake nice but actually genuinely nice. I loved the outdoor seating. It was a little loud but they had nice Persian music playing which added to the atmosphere. The tea was delicious and served nicely. I'm surprised other Persian places have the nerve to offer not fresh tea or tea bag tea. This was definitely the real deal. Most people who eat Persian food drink their tea after but I actually love it with my meal. I did not like the spice they added to the tea but the nice server replaced it with regular Persian tea without the spices. CONS: If you're super sensitive to spices you may not enjoy eating inside as the aroma is strong. Most people may not notice or even care (I don't think the other members of my family even noticed) but I had to sit outside. If we go back to Toronto in the winter when outside seating is not an option, I may just do take-out. The same spice that made the inside smell so strong was also what they put in the tea. I wish I knew what it was...perhaps cinnamon or something similar? Overall, I will be dreaming about this place until our next trip back. Lucky you folks from Toronto who don't have to wait!
