In preparation for a long day of shopping, we stopped by this place to fuel up. Part of the visit was to see what all the rave reviews were about, and part was to offer my buddy a chance to try something unique before heading back home. I have to admit, I absolutely love this spot and wish it was closer to my home in North York. I was genuinely surprised by the quality and quantity they deliver while still keeping things budget-friendly. Although the server warned us that the Mix Shawarma Meal might be too large for the three of us (one being an elder), I was skeptical thanks to today's shrinkflation and went for it anyway. The result? We only managed to finish 2/3 of it. We paired it with a Fatoush salad and opted for Tahini, Garlic, and Spicy Garlic sauces. The flavors were incredible. The meats were perfectly marinated and juicy, with the sauces adding just the right amount of kick and depth. I still can't fully figure out the secret behind those sauces, but they were amazing nonetheless. And let me talk about the rice. The fragrance and subtle use of spices were enough to make me drool the whole way through. While it is more subtle and balanced compared to my ultimate favorite, Adel's in NYC, this place delivers incredible balance and flavor in every bite. I can't believe it took me this long to try this place, but I'm so glad I finally did. I'm already looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu, but first, let me finish the leftovers tonight. :P
We were in the area last week, so we decided to get take out from Shawarnado. It was on our way, and I've been wanting to try this place after reading all the good reviews in Yelp. We arrived at around noon and there were a couple people in line waiting to order a few waiting for their order. We were greeted by a friendly enough guy who took our order and explained some of the options to us (I guess he is the owner or manager). We ordered the following: 2 X Mix Shawarma plates (chicken and beef), meal size, with rice and tabbouleh as our choice of options. 1 X Mix Grill (Shish Tawouk, Shish Kebab, and Kofta) plate, also meal size but with Fattoush as the salad option. We were told that there would be a wait of 25 minutes for the mix grill to be prepared. We decided to go ahead and proceed with that and wait, as 25 minutes isn't too bad. So, that 25 minute wait became 35 minutes, which became 45 minutes, then 55 minutes, and finally after an hour our order was ready. They seemed to have had some issues with getting the chicken and beef cooked completely and kept checking and putting them back on the grill. We did leave for about 20 minutes after we ordered, so we don't know if they put the meat on the grill as soon as we ordered or if they waited and put them on at some point much later. Either way, it should not have taken an hour for our meal to be ready. While we were waiting for the grilled meats to be ready, the shawarma plates were just setting there, already prepared, and getting cold. As far as the food, the Shawarma plates were both excellent, although a bit cold. Both the chicken and the been had a lot of flavour and wasn't overly dry. The sauces (we asked for all three sauces and medium hot sauce), were very good and went very well with the rice and shawarma. The garlic potatoes were a way too oily, but tasty. Then there was the mix grill. The rice, potatoes, and sauces were the same as the shawarma plates, so those were good as well as the Fattoush which was better than the tabbouleh. The shish tawouk (grilled chicken) and the shish kebab (grilled beef) were both very dry, very hard, and way over cooked. The hour we spent waiting for those to be cooked was a waste of time as they were probably cooked after 15 or 20 minutes. After an hour on the grill, they became dried out cubes of meat. On top of that, the kofta was cold in the center. I believe they pre-cook the Kofta and then reheat them on the grill. Our kofta was not left on long enough, and the chicken and beef were left on way too long. So, I'm not sure how to rate this restaurant. Based on the shawarma plates this place would be a solid 4 or even 5 starts, but the mix grill plate is 2 stars. I can't ignore the fact that the mix grill was a mess of over cooked and under cooked meats and that it took an hour for our food to be prepared, so I have to rate this place with 3 stars.
My go to shawarma place in the city always the same quality hasn't gone down over time. Good portions and the sauce and meats taste amazing.
Got the newest viral food trend. The meat was really juicy. I brought my own chips and they added all the tops and meat. I would get this again. Tasted really good. Service was very quick and ambiance was good
Found this place as we were craving some Mediterranean food. Tried this place for the first time, the portions were huge! The food tasted amazing. Love that you get to choose what sauces you want on top of the meat. You also get to choose between different salad options or you can get rice. Overall one of my favorite spots for cheap eats near Toronto.
Randomly came across this place, so I didnt have any expectations. After trying the food, I can't wait to come back again. The food is beyond AMAZING!!! We got the kofta plate and the beef shawarma meal. The shawarma meal was tasty, especially the potatoes it comes with, which were perfectly cooked. The kofta plate was definitely the best tho. The meat was so juicy and tender and perfectly seasoned, it was addicting and left me wanting more. I liked how you can customize your order with sauces and hot sauce. The portions here are also huge! Paid less than $35 for both and had plenty of leftovers. Best shawarma place I have ever tried, I would recommend to anyone, esecially recommend the kofta meat and potatoes.
I visited on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00 p.m. there was a bit of a rush when I got there I ordered and then they offered to bring it out to my car once it was ready I ordered the mixed shawarma plate it came with chicken and beef I asked for half rice half salad but I think there was some miscommunication because I only got salad however I'm glad I got salad because if I had gotten rice I don't think I would have been able to finish my food. You have the choice of choosing their pre-made salads or you can choose from all the toppings that they have and I said put everything except for turnips and beets and it was delicious there were so many different things in the salad it was fresh it was colorful there was cabbage there was pickles there was banana peppers and it added a different flavor to what my shawarma normally taste like. I found that the beef had more flavor but it was a little bit chewy so I think I like the chicken more I'm not sure both were good but if I had to choose I think I would go with the chicken
This may be some of the best shawarma I've ever tried! Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Sauces were great. I absolutely loved the variety of salads/sides they let me pile on my chicken shawarma plate. The fries were also delightfully crispy and well-seasoned! Extremely generous portion sizes and great value. Will definitely be back!
Never had to wait to order. Yes, prices are on the higher side, but 100% worth it due to portions. You have the options of your protein, I chose chicken and falafel for our meals. A quarter of the takeout container has potatoes. The other quarter has a salad. The remaining half of the takeout container has a rice (or fries) as a base with your protein then drizzled with your choice of sauces. Let me state that you will be waiting 10 minutes for your order, even if you're the only order. Why? This place hand crafts a 15 ingredient salad with precision. Ok, it may not be exactly 15 ingredients, but I stopped counting after 10 ingredients. The garnishing on the potatoes are a nice touch. Your mouth will feel overwhelmed with joy due to the plethora of different flavours that complement this dish so well. The chicken was warm and moist, as opposed to being tossed on the flat top to be hot and crispy. They may toss it on the flat top if you ask, if that's you're preference. Potatoes are tossed in a dressing. I couldn't figure out what the dressing was. Would 100% return and recommend.
This place was AMAZING! On my quest to find the best shawarma in Toronto, this rates very high on the list thus far (3/10/23, 3/24/23) I typically look to see if people from the home country of the cuisine dine at the eatablishment, and this place did not disappoint. Considering how busy they are, service was friendly and interactive. When I came back here after a couple of weeks of being away, the manager remembered me! The first time I came, I got the mixed shawarma plate, since I always need to try both chicken and beef. Also got a side of calamari and falafel. BEST FALAFEL I HAVE EVER HAD. Slightly crisp on the outside, not greasy, perfect cooked inside, extra hot (temperature) so that when you take it to 0 def outside, it cools to the perfect temperature. Shawarma was ON POINT, and I honestly get disappointed when I get shawarma anywhere else, lol. Was not a fan of the calamari, though I'm very particular about my calamari (was not expecting huge fried rings, wanted the cute tiny squid). 11/10 will always stop by when in Toronto! Ambiance is warm and lively, and the smells are lovely. You will have a normal wait time, since they are making everything right then and there.
Ordered the Shawarnado Mix family platter, there was too much rice and fries and not enough protein. Flavours were okay though.
Food: - Huuuge ass portions. You'll be so full after eating, a nap is guaranteed.... Or I guess you could eat a reasonable portion of it and just save the rest for later - Taste is on point! Love all their sauces: garlic, hot sauce, tahini. Always great on shawarma. - Potatoes and falafels are fried fresh! - Unfortunately, the beef and chicken shawarma is not cut fresh from the spit - they sit covered in a hot table :( Ambiance: - Your typical takeout with seating options kind of place
This restaurant is a little tucked away, but if you look past it, you're missing out on some good food! Packed majority of the time for a good reason. The place is quite clean, with employees constantly cleaning everytime. It's a nice sight to see from restaurants. The employees seem to all be very friendly. The food is amazing! This is one of the best place I've had for this assortment of foods. It surpasses Lazeez and Osmows by a ton! Their garlic potatoes are to die for, and their sauces are quite tasty while not being heavy on the stomach, which is a surprise! Their prices are a tad bit expensive, but once you watch them pack your food, you will understand why. It is practically touching the top of the take out lid at times. My only concern, which isn't against the restaurant, is that their Falafel has Fava beans (foul in Egyptian, Bagilla in Iraqi) which was a concern for me since I am allergic and it is quite common from middle Eastern places. This was sad since they looked great! My girlfriend tried them and told me they tasted okay, since they were packed heavily. The day after we bought some, I recommended we go again for more. Hope you get to try it and enjoy it!
This place was highly recommended by a friend that claimed this to be the "best shawarma in Mississauga". It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking but the night we were here the parking was full and I had to make multiple rounds to find parking. It's a casual spot with a few tables if you want to dine in. You place your order at the counter then wait for it to be made. I got a chicken shawarma regular plate which came with option of rice, fries, or both. My friend got the dinner which came with garlic potatoes - which honestly looked so good I was tempted to get a side order. Their star are the topics and sauces. They have multiple to choose from. I got the spicy garlic, hummus and hot sauce (mild). You can tell from the photos the food looks bomb. The pricing was fair, the regular was around $12. The serving size is huge, which we love. There can be a wait as this place can get very busy. 10/10 will be back! read more

These guys put passion on every plate/wrap they make for you! We had the beef shawarma plate with a salad and garlic potatoes. We are avid shawarma fans but find it really hard to find a great place as we love AMIR from Quebec. This place definitely is a strong contender. Glad to have found this place. We also got the beef/chicken shawarma wrap which was great with the spicy garlic sauce. I come around here once a month and will definitely come by every month. Keep it up guys! read more
The best shawarma in Mississauga? I think so! Tucked away, off the main road in one of the inner sides of the plaza, Shawarnado is a hidden gem. The portions are HUGE! There's no doubt you get your money's worth here and the food is incredible. Their garlic potatoes are some of the best I've had and their chicken is delicious and has never been dry. I always get the meals; Chicken Shawarma meal with tabouleh and garlic potatoes is my go-to. The sides themselves are already plentiful; On top of that they still load up the containers with rice and meat! The restaurant is very clean. It's nice to see the restaurant staff take such pride in appearances; the staff is constantly cleaning and even cleaning around the containers themselves so the food is always presentable. My only reservations come from their covid19 prevention practices. Most of the time, I grab takeout without issues but the one time I did dine-in, their checking for proof-of-vaccination for customers dining in seems to be hit or miss. They are a very busy establishment at any given time, so I'm inclined to believe it is a one-off. I felt it was only right to give them 5-stars anyhow. Still highly recommend this place! read more
Wraps are very delicious, filling! Meat is so flavourful, lots of topping options here like olives, corn, red cabbage. Like the fact that they don't just fill your wraps with only iceberg lettuce. Plates are bit overpriced in my opinion, however the regular isn't terrible on portion size. read more
Tried the chicken fatta plate for the first time and that's going in favorite list, it's totally worth the $11.99 since the taste and portion is just perfect. It's basically rice, yogurt marinated chicken and fried pita inside. Something different and tasty. The shawarma chicken meal served with marinated potato and salad is equally good and price is just fine $15.99 What I did not enjoy was the rice pudding which had a certain artificial flavor and I was expecting more natural taste- that's off the list. Overall will try the other items on the menu. Highly recommended! read more

I live in Richmond Hill and I look forward to every time I need to make a trip to Sauga cause that means I get to stop by to eat here or grab some for take out and bring back home! I highly highly recommend! HUGE portion size, packed with so much flavour. [Chicken Shawarma Meal] $16.99 - Comes with the chicken on rice with a side of salad and garlic potatoes. For the salad you get an option between like 4 different salad choices, we usually just pick the house salad which I believe comes with a little bit of everything. You also get to pick your choice of sauce and we always get the Spicy Garlic & Tahini sauce. The portion is HUGE, they are very generous with portion size definitely bang for your buck. My husband & I would share this meal between the two of us and get a wrap or fries on the side. [Chicken Wrap] - Kinda like a subway but better, you get to pick your filling and sauces before they wrap it up for you! Which I love because I am such a picky eater! [Fries] - Thier fries are coated in this spice and its delicious!! Nice and crispy and packed with flavour. The service is always amazing and super friendly as well. I'd say shawarnado lives up to its name as Each bite delivered a tornado of amazing flavours whirling through my taste buds! My chicken shawarma was great with an original fresh taste. When I saw spicy garlic sauce on the toppings list I knew it was going to be a hit. It's hard to stand out as a shawarma place in Mississauga and let me tell you shawarnado spins through the town with greatness. Not many places can still deliver and affordable shawarma of this quality! If you want to try a great original shawarma don't waste time get over there! read more

So finally we decided to try their famous shawarma..So mixed meat shawarma combo was today's plan ! Their fries were crispy and fresh and not soggy! The meat in the shawarma is an absolute heaven and very perfectly cooked ! I had chosen all the veggies and sauces.. hot sauce was really hot ! And I think there should have been some more sauce in the sandwich as I felt the shawarma to be a little dry again. Perfectly wrapped with no drop of sauce oozing from the sandwich ! Tip: Much easier to access if you're headed north on Tomken OR west on Eglinton. Impressed! Much better than run-of-the-mill shawarma places that are all over the city. Meat isn't doused in sauce or salt! As per my photo, there was actual care about presentation for dine-in. Side salad wasn't from a bag and had more authentic veg/pickles. Potatoes reminded me of patatas bravas. It was $13.99 for Chicken Shawarma Meal (with salad, rice, & potatoes) and 2ppl were able to share it. Staff were friendly! Please don't change portion sizes or recipe. read more

Outstanding service by Ibrahim and the best chicken shawarma I tried so far. Rather than telling him what to put and what to skip I left it to him. He took his time and presented me the best shawarma dinner plate I tried before. You guyz rock. Will be back Back again and this time the younger brother Yusuf made it. 6 stars for awesome food every time and the hospitality and friendliness they show. Great hosts! read more

I was really looking forward to coming to this place to try out some food, after two failed attempts to visit here on a Sunday, I was able to finally come here and enjoy the food...or so I had hoped. This location is pretty small, but luckily has entrances on both the east and the west side of this building. This location is pretty clean, but feels very dark on the inside. I placed my order and to my surprise my whole meal came out to under 20 bucks. Two chicken shwarma wraps with two waters...under 20 bucks! I was able to get this wrap loaded with toppings, once I got the food, I wasn't very happy with it, somehow the chicken had the same consistency as flaked tuna does from a can, im not sure how that worked but I left feeling disappointed, all the waiting and it didn't match the hype I had in my heart. I tried one of my friends french fry platter and the fries were pretty decent. Lots of parking to choose from at this location. And Monday to Saturday this place has good hours, Sunday not so much i'll be in the area but im not sure if I will be back. read more

5 stars all the way.... If I could rate it higher I totally would. I stop in here weekely from Niagara Falls.. The quailty of the food and toppings are amazing. I've simply never had a bad experience there. Shawarma is one of my favorite foods, but not all are created equal ... And this place is one of the few I've been to that get it right. Do yourself a favor and stop in....prices are crazy good too!!! read more
