I'm very rarely in this end of the city, but when I am and I'm hungry there isn't really too much selection in the surrounding area. Fortunately, for me, this little shawarma take out restaurant is only about 5 minutes away from where I usually stay. Today I got my chicken shawarma plate, delivered. Served with a large portion of rice, some potatoes, key word here is some as in usually one or too pieces ( y'all gotta up your potato game! ) and salad. 2 bros, unlike your typical shawarma place, doesn't just offer tahini and hummus as the sauces available for either your plate or sandwich; they put a delicious 'special sauce' which really makes the dish a whole lot better. I really have zero complaints about the food or the pricing. For only 10$ you can have yourself a meal enough for 2. The only bothersome fact is the portion of the potato and ultimately why this restaurant isn't getting 5 stars. If you're ever in the west end and are in the mood for some downtown quality shawarma, with terrific service, give this place a shot!

Ceasar salad; Lettuce, tomatoes & clumpy Parm fake cheese No croutons & the dressing is the same used on wraps. Disgusting & disappointing.

Ordered a ceasar salad and was extremely disappointed. It was lettuce with tomato, fake Parm clumped & their sauce that is a creamy garlic used for the wraps. No croutons or anything else to make it somewhat like a ceasar.

~ This place is a 4.5 star! all the way ~ This a small little hidden place in a corner plaza. There isn't any proper seating except a few high stools and thats where it lost half of the star. This location is good for take aways and busy during lunch with school kids. The server was very friendly and knew how to make a good shawarma. There menu is great and plenty of options to choose from, I went with large mixed shawarma wrap. The shawarma was definitely large as I could not finish it. The wrap was made with 2 pitas; the topping and meat was mixed and put in good quantity. They make their own garlic sauce and it does stink. Over all the shawarma wrap was one of the best I have had in Canada. For my Muslim Folks - they serve halal meat and it states on their door as well.

    Mixed plate & salad

Really great food, had the mixed plate both chicken and beef very tasty. The rice was delicious and the garlic sauce and hot sauce both homeade and perfect as well. Salad was great too. Only lost 1 star because they serve it in Styrofoam and plastic utensils. That's that shit I don't like. Can't blame em too much as they have a counter with 3 random shit stools to dine in. Place could use a renovation, throw a couple tables in the mix.(they have room)

Ordered over $75 worth of food, wasn't worth it. Poutine tasted weird, burgers were mostly bread and watery vegetables with a small patty. Wouldn't recommend.

Lots of rice. A little meat and lots of sauce that tastes like thousand island dressing. Yuck.

This continues the 2025 alphabet series, C is for Cafe Landwer. On Tuesday, 6/3/25, we went to St. Lawrence Market; see my B is for Buster Sea Cove. Seems like we happened to go alphabetical for lunch/brunch as the next day Wed., 6/4/25. This place had good reviews. So, we got on TTC to Osgoode station and was a very close walk. It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. Overall, this was a 5-star experience with great food, service, & atmosphere.

The four-course Sunday Family menu seemed like a great intro, especially after a lot of travel. We were celebrating my wife's birthday with another couple and added the Milos Special and extra Santorini Fava. Highlights: crisp, well-seasoned eggplant and zucchini from the Milos Special, and sublime grilled octopus -- charred outside, tender inside. The lamb chops were delicious, though juices from the steamed veg made the fries soggy. Service is where it fell apart. No one explained that the Santorini Fava was a puree, not whole beans -- tasty, but clearly meant as a dip we never got instructions for. I used it on my lamb instead. At the end of the meal, a passing server (not our actual waiter, who'd vanished) told us the set menu didn't include dessert. We believed them. Then servers brought out one slice of birthday cake with a candle, a great gesture but kind of odd for us all to sit around with this one slice. My wife asked for a few more forks so we could pretend we were eating at the trough, so befitting for this calibre of restaurant right? Our waiter reappeared with a table service à la carte dessert selection we weren't interested in. Only later, at home, did we learn the set menu actually included dessert -- karydopita or seasonal fruit. Another service disappointment that sours one's taste. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet our waiter disappeared repeatedly. What was with that? We looked, he wasn't serving others. No surprise there's no Michelin star or Bib Gourmand here. The food was mostly excellent, but the service was unacceptable for this tier. We won't return, and we'll warn friends off. Management should follow up with our waiter, Margelo, to see if this was a one-off.

Honestly, I'm impressed every time I visit. Aside from the speed, price also plays a role. I generally settle on the beef and chicken mixed plate, and considering the price I find this combo hard to beat elsewhere. As far as quality goes, the food is great but it is fast food, so don't expect a Michelin-star restaurant. Overall, the quality is comparable to other take out shawarma restaurants you'd find in Toronto.

It's perhaps unfair to judge, because though I enjoyed my steak wrap (and it didn't claim to be shawarma), I didn't enjoy it as much as getting a shawarma at many other places and also spent nearly twice the amount. It was probably about 15 minutes between the time I ordered and when I got the food, so this is clearly not the place to go if you're in a rush. But I'd say the food was worth the wait. That cheese crust is the obvious star of the show here, while the fresh, soft bread is also quite delicious. The other components are tasty too, but the patty itself is the weakest link. It didn't have any kind of crust and just seemed a little on the bland side. But that's a minor complaint for a rather decadent lunch that I quite enjoyed eating.

Overall the food was fine, but the price is a bit high for what you get. For $13-15, you get a skewer of meat (like chicken, veal, koobideh) which comes with rice and a roasted tomato. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to switch your carbs to a salad, thus forcing you to pay an additional $3, for a salad and yogurt. That works out to be almost $20 with a soda... a bit pricey given this is more of a take-out fast food joint. The food is alright. Pretty average, typical Persian food. The skewers are all quite fresh, tomatoes are BBQ'd fresh. Your rice and meat dishes come with a bit of butter for your to add to your meal too. Also... the amount of rice they give is HYYUUGGGEE.
