Everything is fresh, delicious, and arrives quickly. It's rare to find both quality and speed in a restaurant, but this place truly delivers on both fronts. I was in a rush before an appointment and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. The moment I arrived, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the service. Nathan & Lori embody what customer service should be -- truly the dream team. Even with their speed and efficiency, you still feel like a person here, not just another task. In my experience, that feeling came directly from them. I will without a doubt be returning... umm, tomorrow ;)! Food recommendation: absolutely get the Hot & Sour soup. If you're not opposed to bold flavors coming together into the perfect comfort food you can sip on... trust me, you won't regret it! Comfortable space from some beautiful dishes and all around delight. Hidden in a strip plaza, behind its shade of Jade double doors find LOTUS HUNAN... trust!

The food is epic good and that's what I keep returning like a boomerang. I have plenty of water and I enjoy the food is full of flavor and I just dive right in when they bring the food out especially the chicken wings I swear I eat so much chicken wings I think I'm growing feathers. Every piece on the menu uses ingredients from their farm, and they work with a fish sourcer that only sources fish sustainably. They really care about bringing omakase to the table using the most sustainable methods. This omakase is inside of a barn on their farm, and it's such an intimate experience. Everything from the plates to the table to the name plate has a story, so you should definitely ask them to tell it to you! I do think that there are better omakase spots in the city for the price, but this is a unique experience that I wouldn't personally want to skip out on. The menu is simple and delicious, and their take on each piece is really interesting as well. They do offer a $15 corkage fee for every bottle you bring, but I would be careful because I wish they had been a bit more generous and not charged us a corkage fee when barely any of the sake had been poured from our second bottle.

I tried two nigiri that I've never seen on an omakase menu (ruby fish and beardfish) and both were delicious. Every bite was given with detail on the origin of the fish as well as the unique garnishes straight from their farm. We didn't do a wine/sake pairing but I enjoyed a couple glasses of their orange wine while my husband drank Sapporo (the only beer on their menu - he wished they offered some local beers but this wasn't a negative for him). The bathroom is an outhouse with a low water-use toilet. Spencer and Becca offer handroll classes that we are interested in taking. They were both so kind and knowledgeable. Our reservations were for my birthday and at the end of the meal, Becca gave me 2 ounces of a special furikake blend made with locally sourced ingredients! I am such a fan that I even purchased one of their Barn Sushi hats. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Sunday evening wasn't too busy and we were able to have the entire seating facing the window to ourselves. You order off a small menu or choose the omakase. They also have specials for the day. We ordered one nigiri of most of the options and it was a mixed experience in taste and quality. The salmon, tuna, hamachi, and albacore had top notch smooth and buttery textures. The flavors were good, not fishy, but fresh and delicious. The amount of wasabi was perfect for me - very up front and tasted like real wasabi. The rice was nice and vinegared, held together well, and was a good amount for the piece of fish on top. Unfortunately the uni was awful. It tasted like it had soaked up the flavor of the box. It tasted stale and had a very unpleasant and lingering aftertaste. The Wagyu was very chewy and not as pleasant to eat as I would have expected from a Wagyu. Prices are a bit high to go back again for this level of quality and experience, but some of the sushi pieces were a very nice mouthful.

Our waiter highly recommended the Hama Chili, so we decided we had to try it. The edamame was great and pretty traditional, while the Hama Chili was super refreshing and had a citrusy flavor that I loved. The shishito peppers were also really good and came with a yummy orange sauce that added a little something extra. Our waiter was amazing, and the woman making sushi in front of us was super helpful too (we were sitting at the sushi bar). We obviously had to get the Shag roll, which is one of my favorite rolls of all time. It has the perfect combination of crunch and all the other textures, and it never disappoints. We also got the spicy crunchy tuna, which was great, and I especially loved the crunch around the outside of the roll. We also tried the Negi Toro and the P-38. I loved the sauce that came with the p38, it was a sweet sauce. Overall, everything we had was delicious, the service was great, and the whole dinner was such a good experience. Definitely 5 stars, and I can't wait to come back!

Mini Sushi Tacos (2pc) -- Very delicious twist on the traditional taco! It was the perfect ratio of rice, fish, and avocado, and the crispy sushi shell worked perfectly! I wish they were bigger though haha. The stars of the show were definitely the Wagyu Land & Sea Sushi Roll and their infamous Uni Pasta. The Wagyu was very tender (almost melted in the mouth) and it felt like eating a "Surf & Turf" but on a roll! As for the pasta, WOW! The poached egg made the pasta extra creamy and the sea urchin and truffle flavors complimented each other so well. I'm so glad they waited to serve us this dish at the very end -- couldn't have ended the experience in a better way! Although our table size was small for our party of 2, the waiters were diligently taking dishes off of our table as we finished them. The service was wonderful, and we'll definitely be back again!
