6 Salmon Skin Handrolls. 2 orders of Salmon Belly. 1 order of Salmon. 1 Yellowtail Collar.
GiGi D.

Randomly ordered sushi from Tadashi (I'm not from around here) and was pleasantly surprised with what I got. I fully expected TINY portions and to be hungry after my meal but I wound up pleasantly full and happy with the quality... Minus the fact that the salmon skin handrolls are TINY AS EVER. The hamachi Kama was delicious, perfectly cooked and they gave me extra rib meat, which was an unexpected surprise! The salmon belly sashimi (fatty salmon) was a real treat (it's my favorite) and I didn't realize I ordered 2 orders, but I'm thrilled that I did. The salmon (not fatty) was also delicious. The salmon skin hand rolls were also good but SOOOOOO small. Basically almost no salmon skin at all. Tadashi DID however listen to my request for no rice or vegetables or sauce, so that's nice! Over all, I definitely rate my meal a 4/5. A 4 purely because the salmon skin handrolls were just SOOOO small and because this meal of mine was OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive.

Stopped in for a lite lunch prior to massages. Service was friendly enough. We ordered water and green tea, both had a soap taste to them to the point we didn't drink with our meal. Sushi was okay but not something I'll return to.

Went to dinner last night with my wife at Tadashi. It was another great experience. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. It was quite busy but the service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and not too loud at all! We enjoyed spicy edamame, miso soup, soft shell crab salad and the Hawaiian Roll. All of it was so good!

I went with my family and we really loved it! (Even the little ones) And the food was so nice, I had the ramen and it was SPECTACULAR! The waitress was also very nice.

Have to end it with green tea ice cream I love it so much I got 2!

my favorite place to go every time we celebrate something! I love sushi and this is the best place I can eat all I want without thinking about the price thank you!

Great food, fast service and perfect date night spot. The food is pricey but worth the extra dollar. Ordered Sake and a good amount of appetizers. The best and most memorable appetizer was the soft shell carb! The spicy edamame was addicting and not to spicy, and I don't eat spicy stuff often. The seafood pops was very yummy tempura of calamari, scallops, and shrimp with a spicy mix on top. California roll even tasted different than ones I've had... Overall, the quality food and experience at Tadashi is one I'd go back for again and again!

Anytime we need a good sushi fix, Tadashi does not disappoint. My absolute favorite on the menu is the Hawaiian sunset roll which includes just about everything - a good mix of flavor and texture. Service is generally pretty attentive.

Came here for dinner with my lovely girlfriend as a special date night for our Austin trip from Houston TX. Had high hopes since we have had plenty of great sushi from other japenese restaurants back at home. Overall, Japanese food was good, non Japanese food was okay. Make sure you stick to sushi when you eat here. The entrees were a bit on the heavy side.

Great sushi at Tadashi. Please come to try our special roll and fresh sushi and sashimi plate.

Belly trio - look at that toro. What is that?

Possibly some of the worst sushi I have ever had. We got the belly sashimi and the toro came and it was gray. Everything tasted grossly fishy. Not sure how this place survives.

My husband found this spot for lunch. So we thought we would give it a shot. Was greeted and seated waiter gave us some time to decide on what we wanted. Got a miso soup and husband ordered a bento box which comes with miso soup. Our toddler wasn't hungry so we shared our food with her. It was nice to see the menu did have a children options. I ordered the Hawaiian roll . The prices were ridiculously high from what I am used to especially for Japanese food. a bento box was over $25 seemed very steep and portions were typical for a bento box and food was fair. Service was good but food was honestly a bit overpriced . So get ready to spend for 2 easily $40 something and up just for lunch. Must be because of the nice shops they have there that they feel they can charge what they do.

Don't bother dining in right now. 33 minutes after ordering and we still don't have food. What a waste of time.

It's one of those restaurants you keep going back to because it's consistently good and feels welcoming. One thing I really appreciate is that if there's ever a question or concern about your food, the staff encourages you to speak with a manager -- they're attentive and genuinely want to make things right. That says a lot about how they care about their customers. On my most recent visit, I ordered the hot sake, which was excellent -- smooth and very enjoyable. I also had the egg drop soup, which I thought was really cool because Sakura's offers a Chinese menu as well. It's nice to have those options, and the soup was comforting and well done. The tempura is one of my favorites here. It's made to perfection -- light, crisp, and not greasy. I love the variety: shrimp, potato, sweet potato, broccoli, and many other vegetables I enjoy. You can really tell care goes into the preparation. Overall, Sakura's is a place I highly recommend. Great food, variety, and a staff that truly values its customers. I'll definitely keep coming back.

Another traditional Christmas lunch at our favorite and nearby hibachi restaurant this past…read moreChristmas Day! The menu seemed to have changed a bit from last year, but looked substantially the same. We were able to call that day to check for availability and were able to walk in and get a seat for 3 at the hibachi table and didn't have to wait too long to get our orders in and eat. We enjoyed the entertainment the chef provided! We sometimes weren't clear who our server was so it took us a bit to flag the right person down to take a drink order. We ordered chicken, shrimp, steak, and salmon dish options. I had a hot sake too. I liked the onion type soup with mushrooms they offered this year as I'm not generally a fan of traditional miso soup. The place was nicely decorated and we enjoyed the annual experience of eating Japanese hibachi on Christmas Day! I'm sure we will be back again next year!

When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess said that she didn't have the reso on her end; rather than apologizing or making a single effort to fix the issue, she just stared at us. We had to prompt her for clarification and next steps, and had to continue to prompt her through the process of getting us sat. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. But honestly I'm a little impressed at how little the entire staff cared about their guests.

My girlfriend was back in Austin briefly before leaving on a trip to Vermont with her friend who…read morelives in Dripping Springs, so I went to work browsing nearby spots on Yelp to make a decision. Thanks to reviews from fellow Yelpers like Steve W. and Samuel C., I felt confident suggesting Ling Wu to my friends and my girlfriend. I made a reservation for that Wednesday night at 7:00 pm, and by the time we arrived, the place was absolutely packed. There was a line of people waiting to be seated. I don't know if they were walk-ins or also had reservations, but thanks to ours, we were sat immediately with ease. I definitely recommend making a reservation. The interior of the building is beautiful, as is the patio with string lights and shrubbery. We sat inside, and the lowly lit atmosphere was excellent. All of the decor really makes the space feel cozy. Water is served in little mugs, and a paper mat is placed on the table because they know Austinites are messy. We all ordered drinks. Two people got a Kirin Light, one got a cocktail, and I ordered their mocktail Spritz. We also shared an appetizer of the Szechuan Spicy Cucumber, which arrived as an incredible tower of cucumber that was both fantastic and delicious. I lowkey ate half of the tower. My girlfriend ordered their soup dumplings, which were pretty good. Soup dumplings are not really my personal style, but everyone else at the table loved them. I was most excited for my entrée. I ordered the Orange Peel Akashi Beef with a side of brown rice, and honestly, it is some of the best Asian cuisine I've ever had. I've seen reviews complaining about the price point, but you can't compare a wagyu steak to Texas Roadhouse, and you can't compare a sit-down Asian restaurant to a Chinese buffet. This is clearly a step above. You don't have to fully dress the part, but this is practically fine dining. Top tier service, top tier atmosphere, and top tier food. This isn't a casual noodle shop, buddy. Overall, it's an excellent experience and definitely worth the steeper price tag. I recommend Ling Wu if you understand that sometimes you have to pay more for a higher quality meal. If you're not that type of person, grow up, because you're missing out on some of the best Asian food Austin has to offer. RIYL: A great meal with a great atmosphere
