First time coming here for Taco Tuesday and it was great! It is located on Valley, between Atlantic and the Office Depot. Fish tacos on Tuesday are $1 and they also offer meat tacos on Thursdays for $1 as well. Fish tacos are fresh from the kitchen upon order with the full dressing on top. I think I prefer coming here for my fish tacos rather than Baja Cali down the street. They also offer other sides, such as limes and onions outside. read more

I had passed by this spot a few times when I was in the area and finally decided to stop and give them a try. I ordered two fish tacos and one carne asada burrito. The fish tacos were ok. The fish was nice and crispy and there was a good amount of sauce and topping on them. Unfortunately the carne asada burrito was one of, if not the worst that I've ever had. The meat had a weird texture and the burrito overall lacked flavor. It's pretty hard to mess up carne asada but somehow they did. The service was fast and the cashier was friendly, which is why I gave two stars. read more

3.5 stars! I have frequented other Taco Ensenadas and find this location to be A-OK. I am glad this one opened up in my hometown but I still prefer their other locations. Why? I prefer the ambiance in East LA/ El Monte more- other locations have indoor seating, TVs, and music (though I do like the idea of Alhambra's location being dog friendly since there's an outdoor patio. Is there music? I'm not sure). Consider the setting similar to Pepe except there's no drive thru/ no car exhaust to inhale along with your meal. Tip-- -They're known for their 99c fish tacos on Tuesday's (otherwise it is usually $1.89), and meat tacos on Thursdays. -Bring cash unless you don't mind the extra 3% charge for swiping your debit/credit card. There is a Chase within walking distance on Atlantic/Valley (SouthEast corner) if you're looking for an ATM. I visited on a Tuesday night just before closing, service was super fast and my order was ready by the time I arrived (10-15 min). Their salsa bar (yellow peppers, onions, limes, and radish) was fully stocked which was well appreciated; the competition nearby (Baja Cali seems to miss this part of the customer experience on multiple accounts). Overall, will return again, but will probably prefer East LA/ El Monte's locations first just because I like their setting more. read more

Been here 3 times already and it's so good. I introduced this place to other family members and they're hooked. I didn't even have time to take pictures of our food since we all devour it so fast. I ordered the shrimp and octopus tostada they give u enough meat for three tostadas. Fish tacos are great they're made perfect not super oily like some places. Parking wise there is plenty of parking also on the side street. My advice for lunch time is order ahead because they get really busy during lunch it took us about 40 min to get our food even when we called to place our order. But it was worth it ! read more

Definitely the fish tacos. I have tried their carne asada taco, crab ceviche tostada, but their fish taco is yummy. If you would like condiments, they'll give it to you...but you have to ask for them. You get their pickled red onions, yellow chili pepper, lemons, and some red sauce. I would give this place a 5 star if I didn't feel like I was intruding whenever I asked for condiments or a straw. Also, they charge 3% of the purchase to use your debit or credit card. What?! I'm happy that the fish taco I had was lightly battered so I can enjoy a true fish taco with fish within. I wasn't expecting much as many places give you more batter than fish and that's normally why I get shrimp tacos more often than not. My friend told me about this new place and they had da bomb fish tacos. He did warn me that the tacos may be a little smaller than other places and it was $0.99 day so I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised and enjoyed our food. The place is pretty much an outdoor venue as it's taken over a sandwich stand. Most people order food to go but their are a couple of tables outside to sit with portable umbrellas to shield you from the sun. I've been to Taco Ensenada at their Sierra Madre location and fell in love with their fish tacos! + the fact that it's only .99$ on Tuesday's makes me love them 1000x more! So when I saw that they opened up a new location in Alhambra (a mile from the AMC theatre we were going to) I got super excited! Located in a little corner across of Popeyes on Valley Blvd, hides this amazing taco joint. This location only has a couple chairs outside in the parking lot but no indoor seating. You order from one window and pick up at the next. The menu is located outside and their condiments table is also located outside. We were there for the special and a quick dinner so we ordered 7 fish tacos. They came out super quick, probably 10 minutes and boy were they stuffed to the brim! Knowing that a taco join isn't stingy on their meats especially on a special deal day shows that they truly care about their customers. (pst- Tuesday's is .99$ fish tacos and Thursday's is .99$ other meat tacos). Although, customer interaction is brief, the lady was super sweet when ordering and picking up. She called me 'honey'. Hehehe . Anyways, the best fish tacos around in my opinion. Super quick, good prices (even on non-Tuesday and thursdays), kind workers, great food! Will definitely be back again and again! Me being a newbie on the cuisine asked the young lady on the difference between the two meats-carnitas and marinated pork. I learned something new. Carnitas is also pork. I have really thought it was beef reason I didn't bother to order it on all of taco places I have visited. I love the condiments especially the yellow pepper. The pork tacos tastes good. Fish tacos are good. Fish strips used is generous. I think they add some sort of chili sauce on the fish taco. So if you don't want a spicy taco, tell them upon ordering. The serving size of the french fries is about average. If I compare it to Belly Buster's, Belly Buster had a larger serving for french fries. Seating: Outside seating. The management did added additional tables and seats to accommodate additional dine-in customers. Restroom: Don't even bother. It's a very tiny place where Belly Buster used to be. Today i made a phone order at 11:45am for 1 shrimp burrito, given the time it usually takes them to make it i walked there about 20 min after I called from 3 blocks away. I get there and there is aline about 10 people deep (its lunch time) so I wait in this line. I reach the window at 12:30pm to pay. Food is not ready so I sit and wait. While I wait a guy 4 people behind me in line makes an order on the spot ( not a phone order) and gets in 5 min after placing it. I ask the employee that based on my prior experience there it seems like the phone orders don't get put through until you pay...whats the point of the phone order if you are still waiting for it? She just says that they are very busy, which I can see but that doesn't explain why that person got his order before me. I end up getting my order at 12:42pm....totally unacceptable ,almost an hour after placing the phone order. Won't be back here...ill just walk the other way to Baja Cali. read more

I was craving fish tacos last Tue and decided to give this place a try. In an effort to save time, I phoned in my order of 8 fish tacos and was told it would take 15 mins. Awesome! So I head down to the restaurant, all excited I was able to save some time by phoning in. Nope. When I arrived at the restaurant there were 3 people in line to order and about 5 others waiting for their food. There was not another line to pickup phone orders. Ok no prob, it's a small restaurant and window space is limited. I wait my turn in line to pay and pickup my order. She finds my receipt and I pay. Also I want to note it's been at least 25 mins since I called in my order by the time I pay. So long story short - I sat there for another 20 mins watching the people who actually walked in and ordered at the window while I waited in line get their orders before me. Born amd raised in Alhambra (Ca) I grew up on Pepe's. I will always have love for Pepe's. However, Tacos Ensenada brings a few more options. Pepe's will ALWAYS be a hometown favorite but you have to appreciate what Tacos Ensenada brings to the table. They bring reasonable prices, more than basic options and competition. I cannot say that Tacos Ensenada is better, but I will admit it is truly just as good as Pepe's. read more
