For claiming to be the best fish taco place in LA, the restaurant is setting expectations high and fails to deliver. It's not bad but I wouldn't say it is the best. I think for the price point this feels more like the restaurant is just resting on its laurels. Chains like Baja Cali or Tacos Ensenada could be comparable for fish tacos. I like that it is close by to the Whittier Narrows Recreation area, so a good stop for lunch. Also they have beer... which leads to Micheladas, perfect drink for a hot day. The patio is large and airy, but the loud and high speed dance music was distracting. Interesting drive-through set up, but cheapens the look of the restaurant associating it too fast food like a Long John Silver.

I have been passing by here the last few weeks and there's always a line to drive-thru so I made a mental note to try next time I wanted tacos. I came by on a weekday night, where the lines were not that busy. If you're coming for lunch, I would definitely budget some time because it seems to be super busy at lunch. I went through the drive thru, but I would definitely go inside if you can. The drive thru takes forever and sometimes people will not order at the call box and order at the window, making it take forever. The tacos were packed pretty well making it easy to take it back home. I ordered the 8 taco combo and ordered the fish, shrimp, carne asada and chicken to try. It also seems like they give one type of salsa, which is like a medium chipotle salsa, which I really liked. My favorite surprisingly was the chicken, it was juicy and tender. The shrimp was also pretty good. My least favorite also surprisingly was the fish, which they are famous for. I thought the fish was kind of bland and under seasoned. I thought this was a pretty good experience overall for a quick bite. I will say though that aside from the seafood, the tacos were a little pricey. I can get chicken and carne asada for a cheaper price somewhere else. I will definitely come back next time I'm craving a fish (maybe it will be better next time) or shrimp taco, but will go elsewhere for a steak or chicken.

Is it the best fish taco in the world? I'm not sure. Is it the best fish taco I've ever had? No. While the fish taco was good our experience was as soured by one of the staff members reaction when we told her one of the fish was still raw. we showed her and she asked us why we didn't mention earlier as if we can know the fish is raw without eating it. Then she went away and talked to someone and came back to say that we should've told her earlier and that she told the cook for the future. We weren't expecting them to replace it but at least say sorry the food is not cooked fully. If we wanted raw fish we would've went to a sushi restaurant not a restaurant that claims to be number one fish taco in the world.

Earlier this week I tried Taco Nazo in El Monte, CA and I chowed down on some of Taco Nazo's famous fish tacos (3 was the perfect amount). They were delicious and satisfying. I actually really enjoyed them. This is not my opinion but according to a friend this location of Taco Nazo is the best in LA! They also have a drive thru, which we used. Thank you for the amazing lunch.

Always the best place for fish tacos. My sister and I spot to hang out and grab food. Never had I had a fish burrito till I tried my sister's. Next time one. This time I ordered two fish tacos and one shrimp combo. It was so filling, lots of flavor, and price wise just right. Food was fresh and still fast at receiving it.

My 1st time eating here. It was absolutely amazing! I used DoorDash and it was delivered within 30 minutes. I ordered the 3 Tacos Dorados Combo. 1 of each; potato, beans and requeson (cheese). It came with a side of refried beans, rice and chips and salsa and a drink, and I got Horchata. I also ordered the fish taco because all the reviews said how amazing it was and that's what they were known for. That was the only thing I wasn't too keen on because the fish was super tough and I couldn't chew through it. But everything was absolutely amazing. Why have I not known about this place before? Portion sizes were perfect a lot honestly but perfect.

Perfect late lunch for this hot Sunday afternoon. My favorites, fish taco and shrimp cocktail! First time we're here and it is crazy busy, all the tables are full and the staff is working extra hard to make sure everyone has what they need to enjoy their lunch!

Every day is Taco Day at Taco Nazo, no need for Taco Tuesday deals when the food's this good every day! It was our first visit, and we decided to share a few items. The seafood tacos definitely stood out more than the meat ones. We especially loved the ceviche, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and surprisingly, the potato taco! The asada was just okay, but probably only because the seafood options were so much better. At around $4.50 per taco, it's easy to sample a bit of everything. Plus, the outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying your meal, especially when we have our dog with us.

Love this place. I ordered 3 items. 1- Michelada- definitely get it if you are into it. 2- shrimp ceviche- fire. Would reorder in a heard bit. Get some limes, a tostada and a little bit of spicy souse. Can't go wrong. 3- a taco plate. Awesome 8 taco mix and match plate to share with friends. This place is a fish taco specialty, but I couldn't pass a shrimp taco. I would recommend to try a shrimp taco, but if you want to go for a no brainer, go for the fish taco. It is thick, juicy and just great. They have their souse, a little spicy but just right for the tacos.

My family has been coming here for many years. All times it's been take out We live in the next city so the foods still hot/not cold when it gets home My dad & sister are the ones who go but once I drove my dad, he went inside & I stayed in the car. Parking lots Tiny & spaces are compact Don't know prices really as I never pay Now, the fish tacos are PERFECT Crispy, not greasy, flavorful, succulent fluffy fish, cabbage is insanely finely shredded. Red Salsa is bomb diggity Yellow grilled Chile on the side PERFECTLY salted & not duper spicy ALSO their carne asada tacos are yummy Not mind blowing but jummy I'll forever recommend & return

If you're craving fish tacos, this is the spot. The crunch was absolutely perfect, and the flavor was fresh, vibrant, and seriously addictive. Every bite had that ideal balance of crispy texture and seasoned goodness that makes you immediately start planning your next visit. And a huge thank you to Flor for being so welcoming and genuinely kind. You can truly tell she cares about her customers and takes pride in creating a great experience. That level of warmth and hospitality makes all the difference. We left happy, full, and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend!

Do they have taco Tuesdays?

They have tacos every day.

Hi, anyone know approximately how many people the Family 20 taco pack is supposed to feed? About 4-5?

Hi there! Our family pack sides are meant to feed 5-8 people depending on how much each person serves. The sides are 32 ounces of rice, 32 ounces of beans, large chips, salsa, and chiles! The 20 tacos depend on how many tacos each person serves.… Read more

I wish I knew his name, but there's a guy there (shorter height and clean haircut) who gives some of the best customer service I've experienced. Super friendly, accommodating, and genuinely wants to make sure you get exactly what you're craving. One thing to note--there's a menu, but no pictures or brochures, so you kind of have to know what you want or ask. Luckily, he's more than happy to walk you through options. Nachos - Exactly how I remember nachos should be. The chips are those pre-made round ones (like Tostitos Rounds), but still crunchy and satisfying. The meats taste freshly cooked, with a nice sprinkle of veggies. And the best part--they use that classic nacho cheese and sour cream combo. The kind of cheese you'd get at 7-Eleven or a Dodgers game. Not the healthiest, but sometimes I want what I want. Tacos - Simple and classic. You really can't go wrong here. I've tried different meats and they've all been solid. Wet Burritos - Great balance of rice, beans, meat, and veggies. I've had the chicken, carne asada, and al pastor--all delicious. It also comes with a side of lettuce and sliced avocado, which is a nice touch. Side Bar - Fresh radishes, pickled jalapeños, lime, and lemon. Everything tastes fresh and adds a lot to the meal. What really stands out is how flexible they are with orders. I asked for nacho cheese on the side so my chips wouldn't get soggy--no problem. Extra salsa? As much as you want. Not sure if you want red or green salsa on your wet burrito? Get both on the side. They make it easy to customize exactly how you like it. Overall, great food, but even better service. This is the kind of spot that I don't want to review so I can keep it for myself.

Not sure if it's just me, but the taco truck is a little better than the restaurant. Their carne asada burrito and tacos have hit the spot each time!!! The carne asada has a slight crisp to it and it's LOADED every time. It is a little oily but I don't mind it. The beans and rice in the burrito is delicious and doesn't overwhelm the overall texture and flavor. Tacos are just *chefs kiss* they don't put everything in the taco, however you can put all the toppings you want from their cart. I loooove their sauces!!! Both the green (the non-creamy) and red sauce is great in flavor and in spice. Green has a more jalapeño / cilantro taste and the red has a tamarind taste to it? Either way, such a great complementary flavor to the burrito and tacos! The service is usually good, every time we've been, everyone has been nice. If you pay in card from the taco truck, you would have to go inside to the restaurant. The restaurant is a little small, so it's not great for large parties, maybe up to 4-5 ppl comfortably in some spaces. When we ate their last, the server provided us chips and red salsa. It's so addicting even though it burns so good. We have tried other things like the brirria and consome, the huarache, and the mulitas. they were decently good, but I prefer their burrito and tacos more. Had to add the photo of the tacos!!

Solid 4.5 stars You know how you always see so many taco trucks or stands on a main street? Do you ever stop by all of them and check them out? No need, I am the one who eats. My goal is to try all the taco stands in Los Angeles. Located in front of an El Monte Numero Uno market and CVS, this is one of my new finds and definitely one that I would eat at every week. Their style is like a blend of Tj and traditional taco stands. This is their setup: charcoal grill only for asada, pastor spit, stewing pot, vast condiments stand (incl. guacamole), and auga frescas. Asada is grilled nicely and retains so much flavors despite I didn't get a freshly grilled batch. If it retains grilled flavors and stays juicy after sitting in the steam bath containers, it must be seasoned well and the right cut of beef was chosen. Pastor is nicely seasoned and not that greasy. They sometimes will give you pineapples but it is still good without it. I wished it was sweeter and a bit more meat juicy but I can't fault their pastor because it's beautifully cut and roasted. Goes really well with grilled onions. Cabeza is tender and already seasoned; good amount of meat and fat (albeit more fat, makes it juicier) makes it perfect for two tortillas. Tripas is good; it may not have the best flavors but it is nicely stewed, grilled right, and tastes clean. They use store-bought tortillas but don't fret, all the flavors are there. They use the stewing meat pot's (cabeza, buche, tripas) oil to season their tortillas for grilling. Their dark red salsa is seriously perfect :D nicely roasted chiles smoke flavor combined with a thick savory consistency makes it perfect for any meats. Not too spicy to be unenjoyable but enough to make you want more. The workers told me it's a blend of arbol chiles. This is one of the best salsa I've had at taco stands. Guacamole salsa has a decent amount of avocado with the right acidity, saltiness, and creamy texture. Again, goes well on any meat. The fact that they let you scoop this yourself makes the $2 a bargain. Salsa verde is good; high acidity (I like) and a good tomatillo flavor makes this a good choice for those who enjoy a mild salsa (it's on the upper end of mild). The orange salsa (taquera) is spicy! Good smoky flavors and only a few drops are needed for a nice burning kick. I need to come back and try rest of their meats (I always get their asada and pastor every time) because I keep getting what tastes good even though I should try the rest :) Their quesadillas and alambre portions are HUGE especially if you order multiples. Give this place a try and tell me if I'm wrong. I eat tacos every week and typically drive to South LA for my likings, but this place is winning my emotions. This is the upper echelon of $2 tacos in SGV.

Came across Mike L's review for Tacos Xaam and decided to check it out myself. Seeing the open…read morecondiments table and the unlimited sauces were pretty much what drew me in. Not sure if there are set hours that they are set up, but we stopped by on a Thursday night last week to grab some tacos for dinner. They're located on Garvey Avenue (near the back of the parking lot), in front of the Numero Uno Market - there's also a small churro stand adjacent to Tacos Xaam as well as a hot dog stand in the plaza across the street. So when we walked up to the stand, we saw one of the workers managing the meat. They have pastor roasting on a spit while some meats are inside of a pot and other meats that have already been premade. We originally only wanted asada tacos, but the worker convinced me to try the pastor. And I ended up adding a cabeza and tripa as well. I'm not a taco connoisseur, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the tacos from this stand. For one thing, they give a ton of meat! Tacos are a little pricier than the place that we usually visit ($2 a piece), but I think the quality is there - and the quantity is definitely there! Out of all the ones that I tried, I actually enjoyed the tripas taco the most. This was on the crispy side and retained its crunch as I bit into the taco. The tortillas are on the oily side with the combination of the oil and the meat, but everything tasted really good together. And of course, you have to try the asada if you're getting a taco. We ordered five or six of these - my sister agreed that it was packed with meat and really tasty. The steak was cooked well and wasn't chewy or dry. I also ordered cabeza on a whim and thought it was pretty good, but probably not my favorite. This reminded me of the beef stew meat that my mom makes at home. It had good flavor and was actually really filling, but I'd prefer asada over the cabeza. The worker asked why I didn't want to try the pastor, so of course I gave in and ordered one. I really liked the fact that this came with some grilled pineapples - reminded me of the Brazilian steakhouses! This was a little on the salty side, but with the addition of the sauces and condiments - I'd say that the taste was really good. If you order your tacos to eat there, they serve it on a plate, making it easy to load up your tacos with the condiments. If you plan to eat them at home, they offer bags for the condiments as well as sauce containers to scoop out the sauces. There was a container for lemons, onions, cilantro (love that this was by itself and finely chopped), and a spicy jalapeno pepper/onion mix that looked way more innocent than it tasted. Unfortuately there weren't any limes that night - as for the sauces, there's the guacamole, salsa verde, and two kinds of red sauces that looked super intimidating. We enjoyed the salsa verde the most - not spicy and had a nice zest to it. The people operating this booth were friendly - everything was super fast and we got our tacos within minutes. tl;dr - Tacos Xaam is definitely a taco stand you want to consider for those late night cravings! It's a little further out there than the regular SGV places, but it's worth it. They also have quesadillas, burritos, tortas, etc. I will return to get more tacos!
