This review is being posted so that management and patrons are aware that vagrants loiter very close to the restaurant and the staff is poorly trained and not friendly. Tacos Ensenada located at 1142 W. Valley, Alhambra is not safe. There is a liquor store and bar next door where I witnessed vagrants loitering and urinating against the wall in full view. They are loud and make cat calls to the female patrons. They seem to live in that parking lot/alley way, I have seen them there numerous times. My experience wasn't made any better by the restaurant when I brought this to the attention of the female attendant, she replied " oh, they are there because of the liquor store next door" and did not show concern at all. In addition, when I asked the male attendant for 4 containers of red sauce he said he could only give me 1 red sauce and would have to charge me 25 cents for each additional tiny red sauce container. Also, when I expressed my concerns to the male attendant about not feeling safe due to the vagrants and because he was me charging me extra for the red sauce, he answered "That's OK" and he walked away. I left the restaurant with a lasting impression that staff does not care about your safety and are not friendly to their patrons. Again, this restaurant is not safe and staff is not friendly. The food is not worth it. I will never return here. I have advised my family to never come here. read more

Although it's not as close and convenient as Baja Cali, this place has pretty good fish tacos and I definitely plan on returning. PARKING: Street parking and I believe there was a small lot. We ordered a good amount of food and the total was only about $14. A lot of the items are around $5-6. Also take note that they have $0.99 fish tacos on Tuesdays and meat tacos on Thursdays -- like Baja Cali. FOOD: We got a couple of their FISH TACOS, a SHRIMP BURRITO, and a SHRIMP CEVICHE TOSTADA. Definitely think their fish tacos are the star of this place. It was freshly fried, a good ratio of batter and a meaty fish. The shrimp burrito was a little soggy, so I wasn't that big of a fan of this. Their tostada was good -- not too acidic and the shrimp tasted fresh! My friend and I went recently for our first time and it was definitely worth it. We both got the two shrimp taco combo. It comes with rice and beans and a drink. The shrimp tacos were so good! They have different chili's to put on top and I used the green one which really good. They also have those lemoned chili peppers which were good to take with every bite of your food. The red salsa that comes with the food was also flavorless. The meat in the tacos were all dry. My quesadilla was loaded with grease. The only flavorful item here is the grilled chili peppers they have on the side. The worst part of all is that within 10 or 15 minutes of eating, I had the worse case of diarrhea. I was excited to see they had opened up a Mexican restaurant within driving distance if my job. I decided to make the drive during my 30 min. Lunch break today and to my disappointment there debit card machine was not working. The food smelled good but just a friendly heads up, bring cash. I guess I will have to settle for Taco Bell today. While smaller, you have to set your expectations on wait time based in that kitchen size and it can be a long wait time when busy.
