Tacos don't remember which one

Tacos Frances was closed (Sunday) so we hit up this recommended spot from a fellow trusted traveler and was not disappointed one bit!

Taco de pollo and caramelo de asada. They hit the spot and so much nostalgia of my vacations in Hermosillo. My new spot in playas!

The food are authentic Sonora tacos. It took me back! It's a quaint restaurant and highly recommend anyone visiting playas.

All due respect to Tacos El Franc and Taconanzo, these are the TRUE best tacos in Tijuana in my opinion! I go here strictly for the rib tacos (tacos de costilla) and ribeye tacos, which are to die for. Love the tacos adobada and tacos asada that most frequent the other taco joints in TJ for but the rib tacos here are just too tasty - you'll be blown away if you've never had them before. The ribs here are also served a la carte, as a half or full rack at a bit of a cheaper price than you'd expect in the States. One negative here is this spot does specialize in rib/ribeye tacos, so the tacos are going to be a bit more expensive (roughly $3.25/taco) than tacos in the more well-known taco joints in TJ, though still a solid price. Also this spot is out by the beach (Playas de Tijuana) away from the center of the city, though Uber/Didi rides out to Playas are generally cheap. They do accept credit cards I believe. Small divey spot but the rib tacos I believe are the best TJ has to offer - many locals would agree. Highly recommend checking out and seeing what you think!!!

These tacos hit the spot! When I went to Tijuana, all I really wanted to do was eat all of the tacos, and Tacos Casa Sonora delivered. They have a large menu with ribs, tacos (hardshell, flour, and corn!) quesadillas, loaded potatoes, cheese broth, and more. They have a sauce bar with unlimited guacamole and all of the dressings, and they even have vegan options They get their horchata and agua frescos delivered by someone who specially makes them, and they were even able to make us half salt / half bbq ribs to try which was fantastic. The owner was friendly and hospitable, and the tacos with flour tortilla were mouth watering. My favorite was the rib eye and the piranha for tacos, but I didn't get to try the rib since I got an actual rib! The loaded potatoes surprised me - think Mexican style baked potato topped with cheese, corn, onions, meat, salsas, and more. I was glad the brunch place was closed for the day next door and that we discovered this spot instead!!

This place is our fave when we come to TJ which is at least three times a year. The service is excellent. We've try something new every time and pleasantly surprised with how amazing it is. It's definitely Sonora authentic with a twist of awesomeness. We had the Portabella Tacos, Chile Relleno Taco, a BBQ Rib with both salt and bbq sauce and the Queso Dorado. Make sure you call and inquire when you can come when there is not a lot of people because I hear it can get packed. We usually come at noon and it's perfect!

THE BEST TABLE SIDE SALSA IVE EVER HAD! AMAZING DRINKS AND FOOD AS WELL!…read more Customer service: 5/5 The customer service was seriously great! My boyfriend and I wanted a nice dinner, and I looked up on Yelp and found this place! (YAS MEXICO YELP- COME THRU!) as soon as we got there, we were instantly greeted with a warm welcome. Our servers, were absolutely amazing. They knew some English, although my boyfriend is fluent, I appreciate they tried hard for me! lol :) Food: 5/5 My boyfriends and I ordered drinks, which included a mango margarita, a whiskey, and a lemonade. The drinks were seriously phenomenal! Perfect amount of sweet and alcohol! Then we ordered the food. They're a steak house, so I had to go with the steak tacos. It was amazing! The steak was so tender and seasoned to perfection. However, Our table side chili was the star of the show. My boyfriend even ordered 2 rounds, and we ate it the next day! I should've bought that stuff by the pint lol All around experience/pricing: 5/5 Zero cons, my experience here was nothing short of amazing, and we cannot wait to come back for more! The cost was also reasonable for what we received. $1,125 pesos, and $59 USD. Some may think it's a bit high for Mexico, but in LA it would've easily cost 100.

Unfortunate the only good thing here are the flour tortillas!! As far as the food terrible, and…read moreexpensive!

Checked this spot out this past Mexican Independence Day due to the good reviews. It's located in…read morethe Zona Rio area, which is an area packed with very well-regarded, highly-rated restaurants in TJ. The restaurant is located directly behind the TGI Friday's on General Rodolfo Sánchez Taboada Boulevard. Got there around 1:30 pm, not too long after they opened. Not many people in there, though that wasn't surprising given that it was a Monday and a federal holiday. One thing I love about Mexican fine dining restaurants is they tend to be very lax on dress code; I was dressed casually but that wasn't a problem. I don't think they technically have a dress code, though a comparable fine dining steak restaurant in the U.S. might not have let me in given that I was casually (although neatly) dressed. Was nearly empty so was seated immediately. Waiter was an older male who spoke pretty good English. Was brought out Acqua Panna spring water while I looked over the menu. I first ordered a frozen strawberry margarita (209 pesos or roughly $11). The margarita was solid and tasty. For my meal I decided to go with the petit ribeye (300g ribeye), which came with a complimentary side (chose mashed potatoes) and the soup of the day (potatoes and cream). The petit ribeye was 1389 pesos (~$73 USD). While waiting for the main meal, they brought out bread and then the soup (which came with crackers). Really liked the soup. The bread was perfectly fine, though nothing special. They provided standard crackers but there were also some very large, circular crackers they provided that I didn't really like. After finishing the soup and bread they brought out the ribeye and potatoes. Both were very good, the ribeye in particular was well-cooked and tasty. Not the best ribeye I've had in my life or anything like that, but it was solid. I also liked the spicy sauce and pico condiments that came with the meal. The ribeye and margarita came to 1598 pesos total; after tip the total bill came out to around $100 USD. While I enjoyed the meal, I don't think I'd return to El Grill at that price point. I've had better steak/ribeye meals for less even in the U.S. and had better meals for much less in TJ. But the meal here was good and I'd still recommend for anyone who's never been, just as a place to check out. The waiter and customer service overall was great and very attentive.

The duck was also cooked perfectly with a crispy seasoned skin that was spot on. We ordered the crispy mushrooms. Not what we expected but so good we ordered another dish with our dinner. We had the Basque Cheesecake and the Crème Brûlée. Both were outstanding. The restaurant itself has a rich mahogany feel and comfortable booths. We try to stay as close to Moe's as we can when we visit because they're in the perfect spot at the edge of Mission and the start of Pacific Beach where all the fun is. The food and cocktails are as good as the service. It's easy to chat up a new friend at the bar because their San Diego happiness is contagious. There were a number of new recipes on the cocktail menu this trip. They had me at "Party With Elvis." Although I was drawn to the fun name, the walnut-infused bourbon was too enticing to pass up, especially because they paired it with Montenegro (Amaro) and sweet vermouth. So it's a fancy Manhattan variation. It was delish!!!!!! Make sure when you go to the amazing beaches next time in SD, check out Moe's. You'll love the food and cocktails as much as the vibe.
