The tacos had absolutely no flavor I ordered 2 different sets & kinds of tacos & both had 0 flavoring. The birria sauce 0 flavor I tried to add salt & omg still no flavor I DONOT recommend this place. I payed 50$ for 6 tacos with absolutely no flavor. & my taste buds are very sensitive I do not like a lot of foods but I was so excited to try these. Wow! Ordered the 3 taco plate with onion and cillantro garnish - 2 beef and 1 carnitas. Husband ordered 3 carnitas. The corn tortillas are fantastic and the meat was out of this world. Perfectly crispy carnitas and lean, delicious beef steak. Tacos came with a side of grilled onions, sliced radish and limes. We opted for green and red sauce. Red it hot but flavorful. The wait was reasonable as we could tell the meat was cooked from scratch. OMG those damn tortillas! Take your time, Azteca. Well worth it. So disappointing... For 2 years I've seen people in the neighborhood line up for this truck. A few nights ago, we decided to try and make guacamole. Ordered tacos and cebollines, let me start with the tacos tortillas were hard as if they were old and just reheated steak was not that great either over all tacos just tasted reheated. They even clean the grill for me and use a clean spatula so theres no cross-contamination of animal. And their tacos come with the lime, chilli pepper, radishes, and salsa and guacamole-sauce. I like their chicken tacos. They're not super fancy but they taste pretty good. Their burritos are very filling as well. I wouldn't go out of my way to order from them online but if I'm hungry and passing by since they're close to the uptown 1 train station and several bus stops I'll grab something to go. read more

Very good Mexican food! I've been here a few times and have not been disappointed. It's my go-to truck in that area. The food is very fresh and authentic. Tip: call in your order before you go to the truck to pick it up, as it is very popular. Was a longtime customer that always ordered delivery. Went today in person to the truck to order and had a HORRIBLE experience. I was disrespected by the employees, called out of my name with a curse word, and while I waited for my food (because I had already paid) they kept pushing me with snarky remarks. I'm Latina and so are they so they wasn't any miscommunication as we were speaking. They never apologized although they could CLEARLY see I was uncomfortable and pissed. Great food, probably the best Mexican option I've had in the neighborhood. The fact that they have an actual vegetarian option rather than just "without meat" is impressive for a food truck. Burritos are the best option, and tortas are also really good. I'm sure other stuff is great but I can never bring myself to order anything else. The red salsa is killer. After reading the other reviews, I do need to note that I was not given a folded white napkin and the wine list is limited. At this point I have ordered from here several times. I have had everything from tortas, to all different kinds of tacos, to tostadas, to burritos, to agua fresca. Everything has been delicious. My girlfriend lived in Mexico for a few years and she is very particular about her Mexican food. She has extremely high standard and is a bit of a Mexican food snob. She loves everything from here and it is her favorite Mexican food in the city and I think that says a lot for Tacos Azteca. read more

This place is THE BOMB! I'm a big fan of their chicken burritos that has, literally, all the food groups. It's huge and delicious and you are just full for hours. The food is always fresh and they make everything from scratch. The guys who run it are the best, too. Always nice and friendly. I don't understand why some people are bitching about their attitude. They're busy and swamped. Get over yourself. I order from them at least 3 times a week. I even have friends who visit me from upstate and always get these guys' food. This is my go-to taco place, when I have cash on me (actually not sure if they don't accept cards still but at one point they didn't so I assume that's still true). Okay I honestly don't understand the bad reviews because my husband and I order from here at least once a week and it is consistently amazing. I usually get the carnitas burrito and he's gotten the enchiladas and tacos and they are all awesome. We tend to call in our order when we get off the D train at 145th St. and it's ready just a few minutes after we get to the truck. I've had two separate friends tell me this place has the best burritos they've ever had. The guys are really nice to us even though we don't speak Spanish. I ordered delivery from this travesty of Mexican cuisine. The nachos arrived on time but were very cold and soggy. I called the restaurant and was told that's how the nachos were supposed to be... This restaurant isn't even a half mile from my building, there is no excuse for cold and soggy food. Also, these so-called "nachos" consisted of one layer of chips, covered by a thick layer of lettuce and hardly any cheese. This place gave me food poisoning. I ordered the tacos pollos and the Mexican guy who took my order was quite rude and only spoke Spanish to another Mexican family who had a large order, and was quite dismissive of American customers. I saw a small line for this place, which was the only taco truck available at 10pm at night, so I figured it might be at least halfway decent. Nope. Even when I pointed out which menu item I wanted which was supposed to have avocado sauce on it, the best part, he neglected to add it to my take-out order. The tortillas as well as the cubes of chicken were tough (and likely undercooked because I developed a low-grade fever and stomachache). Just tried this place for the first time and so happy I took a chance on it. I ordered the bistec burrito and it was one of the best that I've had in New York. Grilled steak, guac, sour cream, rice, black beans and cheese all combined in a grilled tortilla. I'm from San Francisco and thus I like to think of myself as a burrito expert. Good burritos are difficult to find but this truck is amazing and will soon become one of my staples. Only downside is that $9 is a little expensive for a food truck burrito, but every once in a while I'll pay the extra change in order to taste such delicious food! This is the closest thing California/Riviera Maya Mexican food I could find in New York. Great food truck! Try the chicken and beef tacos with onions, cilantro and green salsa. The Picaditas and guacamole are phenomenal as well. They even deliver till midnight which is great for when it's cold out. Hope they expand in the future! This place is a must try! read more
