Diabetes Margarita

This was a really disappointing experience from start to finish. The margarita was the worst I've ever had--it tasted like straight sugar cane with no balance at all. I let the waitress know I was unhappy with it, and she could clearly see that I barely touched it, yet I was still charged for it. The food was just as bad--greasy, heavy, and honestly disgusting. I felt sick to my stomach shortly after eating, which is never a good sign. Between the poor drink quality, unappetizing food, and lack of customer care, I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this place to others.

I am very disappointed with this place. The chips definitely did not taste like they were made there at the restaurant. Tasted like they came out of a bag. The salsa tasted canned. I assume they used canned tomato sauce or paste something and then just added fresh onions and cilantro The guac was good had Jalapenos and cilantro in it. The fish tacos were tilapia. They were good but tasted very fishy. Lastly I don't think it's their fault but when I walked in I could smell a terrible odor that I realized was from the nail shop next door. Definitely not was I was looking for

Let's get something straight: I don't typically roam East Washington Street, at least on foot. When necessity dictates, you might find me driving through, in search of a hole-in-the-wall eatery serving some of Indy's best-kept secrets. When I passed Tacos A La Diabla, I was as nearly as tempted as I was with my first girlfriend. Tacos A La Diabla is a small, family-owned Mexican eatery. It has a "mom and pop" feel to it; it's the kind of place where the staff members know each other well, and there's a 14-year-old kid behind the register. There's plenty of room for dine-in customers, but ordering takeaway is as easy as picking up the telephone. The service is average - so are the quesidillas. What aren't average are the restaurant's tacos. While they have a solid menu of other Mexican favorites, I only dine here when I want their namesake item. Tacos A La Diabla has many tacos on their menu, but I enjoy the ones from the "La Diabla" menu, as they are quite spicy. If you have a sissified tongue, ask for the sauce on the side - or just stick to the regular menu. I like pork in my tacos, and the three best are the carnitas, the chorizo, and tacos de pastor. The latter option is the best: it's savory and filling. Quite sinful. I'm a hearty eater, and three pork tacos is a perfect meal, especially when paired with some tortilla chips and queso. If you're looking for a lighter option, the fish or shrimp tacos are a great choice. Be sure to try the homemade salsa. Tacos A La Diabla is on fire!

Steak Asada Taco

The steak tacos were nasty. The quality of the meat was low. It was full of fatty/ligament pieces. They are very stingy with the salsa verde also. They have less than half of an ounce of green sauce for an order of four tacos. I would avoid this place at all costs. The tacos are very over-priced for the quality.

This is the second time I ordered food From this place and it will be my last. I made my order through door dash which I do not believe should mean that the quality standard of their food should be lower. I ordered the rice with shrimp and they did not clean the shrimp right. This was a dish that was for my kids you could literally still see the shit on the shrimp!!!! Disgusting if you ask me. I never tend to do this. To give give a bad review but I do not mess with my food, especially my kids food! Very disappointed!!!! I wish I could've given them ZERO stars!

I gave them two because they had one large table but they still could've done better. There were three of us. Two of our meals came out together the last one took another fifteen minutes to come. The servers were pretty much only focused on one table and didn't even recognize that we were missing a meal until we told them. The burrito I ordered had many pieces of over cooked steak mixed in with okay steak. I don't think any of us left this restaurant pleased I really hope this was just an off night.

Talk about Taco Tuesday! I stumbled upon this place after a long day of work and a severe case of hangriness. It's your average Mexican spot when you walk in. I was greeted with a smile and a bowl of chips and salsa. The salsa was really good and had a nice chipotle flavor. I went through two bowls of that in no time! The specials for the day were 3 tacos for $5.99. I had my choice of chicken, steak, pork, and marinated pork. I went with the steak tacos with the traditional toppings of cilantro and onion and asked for avocado slices in the side. The only part I didn't like about this deal was that you aren't allowed to mix and match. But I got over that the moment I bit into one of my tacos. The steak was perfectly seasoned and so tender. I was amazed by how great they tasted. I'm excited to add this spot to my list of taco favorites! I look forward to trying the other menu items as well. Until next Taco Tuesday...

Since COVID-19 I came to the conclusion that I would have to put my love for tacos on hold . Thankfully that didn't happen , because I found this place ! With a quick call, I was able to order 4 steak tacos with extra green sauce ofc ! 10 mins later, I rolled in and a sweet lady brought us the delicious tacos . Gosh they were good. They came with onion , cilantro, lime , and deliciousness . What more could you want ???? Sauces were also present coming in green and red. The green is spicy with a jalapeño kick so BE CAREFUL! Red is for the milder palate , anyway go try em out!

We were seated in their outdoor area where the heaters were not turned on and the day had been rainy and cold so most of the table was cold throughout our meal. The service was a bit slow but it being cinco de mayo, we understood that things may move a little slower than any other day. They had some specials for the day but I got my old faithful, Maria's Enchiladas with steak. It comes with rice and beans and it's just so so soooo good!!! I also got the Arroyo Margarita which was good but def could tell they were adding a bit more sour mix to the drink. Overall, it was a good experience but I will try to come back again on a day that is not as busy.

Even with the rush, I was able to snag a seat quite quickly. I was so impressed by how efficiently the staff cleared and prepared my table; it's those little touches of attentiveness that really make a difference. I decided to keep things classic and ordered the Asada Tacos. The service was remarkably swift my order arrived in under ten minutes, which is exactly the kind of efficiency I adore. While the initial presentation was a bit more understated than I anticipated, the flavor was a total 8/10 triumph! The staff was also incredibly accommodating when it came to my preferences; they brought over a lovely selection of chips and sauces, but were perfectly gracious when I mentioned I prefer to avoid the heat. These are truly some of the best tacos I've had the pleasure of trying lately. I will most certainly be a regular here!

You have to buy a basket of chips, but it's very inexpensive and so worth it for the salsa bar! Lastly, the Al pastor is the bomb. The restaurant is sleek and has a cool vibe, but we immediately realized it was not going to be what we thought of when we saw "street tacos" mentioned during Google search. It's more of a metropolitan American Soul fusion place, with a heavy emphasis on loaded, uniquely flavored tacos instead of traditional Mexicana. The server was wonderful in explaining their menu and gave multiple recommendations, which I went with all of her great suggestions once I told her what I was craving. My husband didn't enjoy his appetizer, saying it tasted too sweet instead of savory for him, but the server was great at being aware of our plates and took the appetizer off our bill when she noticed he wasn't eating it without us even mentioning it. I got three different tacos, and the only one I didn't enjoy was due to the Mac n cheese that was stuffed in it. It just didn't taste or feel right having a taco with macaroni that was pushed in so densely that it became a sponge. The other two were great! My husband gave his burrito a 3/5, as he felt it was too much one note. Overall, don't come here if you're looking for upscale Mexicana, but instead want to enjoy interesting fusion flavors and fun cocktails. Great place for a group outing or celebration!

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10.
