Went last night before a concert at Barclays. This restaurant is super close to it, so that worked well. It was busy when we walked in so we ordered some drinks while we waited. The margs were great. Just enough salt. Not too sweet. We were seated in the outdoor area under heat lamps that made it perfectly comfortable. Our main waiter was Robby, and he was fantastic, though he wasn't the only one who checked on us and tended our table. It's evident that the employees work as a team. Now, for the food: Wow. Every dish was so delicious. Stand-outs include the street corn, the tuna tostada, the chorizo. The guac. So, so good. All of it. Can't wait to go back soon. read more

Place is nice and comfortable with a very "Mexican mercadito" decoration style, service is good and prompt but the non-alcoholic home made drinks are pretty bad made from concentrate chemicals and over diluted, tasteless and of course over-priced; so better get a Mexican beer o Mexican cane-sugar "Lupita" drink... Tacos are decent in terms of tender juicy meat probably not for my taste... something is missing... "too gringo style", chorizo con papas tacos are not bad neither... but not outstanding! conclusion; "mediocre overpriced tacos" in a a neighborhood that is still struggling with poverty!!! read more

Wish I could give it 3.5 stars because the tacos themselves were pretty good. The crispy fish was not too fishy and had a good crisp to it. The carnitas had a decent flavor and came with a nice tomatillo salsa. What was disappointing was the guac, which did not seem fresh and was more of a sauce than a fresh guac. The Staff, Service and Food was 100%. During Covid I have been to many outdoor restaurants and instead of reviewing bad restaurants I'm only giving shootouts to the best. The Mexican corn is served off the Cobb in a cup, so convenient, and the tacos were perfect. Vegetarians and meat lovers will not be disappointed. I also visited the location in the Financial District and the service and food was great also, all of the workers were so pleasant, who ever does the hiring must be so proud. FOOD: I ordered the beef burrita this time -- the flavor was good, but the amount of meat was too little, the rice plentiful, and the beans I think absent. I've had the al pastor before and that one was VERY delicious. VALUE: The burrita is still a bit on the smaller side for its price point . SERVICE: The staff is friendly enough each time I've done pickup. OVERALL: It's better for lunch or a nice pre-meal. I debated giving a 3 or 4, but decided to round up. read more

I used to love getting delivery from the, but I can no longer do that since they won't allow for special instructions and I can't eat raw onion. I tried picking them off my tacos for a while but it never worked. Too bad--this was a fairly regular part of my rotation. I'm of two minds of this place. + As a place to hang out with friends, kick back with a couple of brews on the patio, I think it is great. The decor is kitschy cool and relaxed. The drinks are expensive but what you'd expect of a trendy place. The service was terrific and quick. The location is also great right at the nexus of Boerum, Ft Greene and Park Slope. - The food is just okay, and small for the price. While I haven't found any better tacos on the area yet the price makes these hard to swallow. In case you go though, I thought the chorizo y papas was the best that I had. (disclaimer: I lived in SF for the past few years and was spoiled by good Mexican food out there so take it all with a grain of salt.) TLDR; Hang out and drink here, skip the tacos. My friend and I were seated immediately on the patio. The patio is barebones--folding chairs, plastic plates. No greenery, no decor, just a dark navy awning, fully fenced in--feels more like a prison cafeteria. Did I mention the casual decor? Well the prices don't match that. $6.95 for ONE street taco. $14 for ONE margarita. You could eat here 4 times for $50 a pop, OR you could book roundtrip flights down to Mexico City for real street tacos at the SAME PRICE. I was excited to try this place and was sorely disappointed. Our server was very kind and attentive, that was the only highlight. We found shell of the avocado in our guacamole. You can find SO much excellent Mexican food in Brooklyn for a fraction of the price. Tacombi is just trendy--that's it. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

First time here...we started with guac and chips and for me the chips are way too heavy. Nothing special about the guac. My fish taco was fine, but the quesadilla was excellent. Service was fine...overall would go again, but not out of my way to stop here. read more

UPDATE: we decided to give tacombi another go, and the person threw in some free food and drink to make up for the experience below. So I have updated to 4 stars. Past experience still not good, but being compensated a little is good service PREVIOUS REVIEW Very bad delivery experience. Ordered a full meal for my wife and kids on Tacombi's website. 40 mins after ordering, and 10 mins before food was supposed to arrive, I got a call from Tacombi saying they had a "maintenance issue" (whatever that means). So they never made the food, it wasn't on the way, and they waited all that time to tell me. This was a birthday dinner and ruined dinner plan with kids. To make matters worse, they said they would process a refund and I'd get a notification immediately. Nothing 20 mins later and had to call back. And for all the trouble, I was told they "would make it up to me next time". I asked "how?" I was told, "Just ask for me, [insert name]". So now, I have to hope that she is there (if and when I ever order again) and cuts me a fair resolution one day in the future. Sure... given this experience, I have doubts. I've eaten here before, and the tacos are good, but overpriced. So I won't give 1 star, but it's barely 2 in my books. read more

tacombi is my absolute favourite spot to get mexican food! it was my first time dining in at the restaurant so I decided to try something new in addition to my usual favourites (avocado tostada and bean y queso burrito) so I got the black bean and sweet potato taco as well. the manager, gio, checked in after the meal to ask how we enjoyed everything and I had to admit that the black bean and sweet potato taco was pretty disappointing compared to everything else. it's not bad but it just has one single texture and flavour, whereas the other dishes are so layered and complex. overall great experience--service and food--but I hope they get better veggie taco option on the menu :) read more

As a Mexican native I have certain standards when it comes to tacos, but I've accepted that I'm not gonna find the same quality in Brooklyn that I do in Mexico. However, nothing prepared me for the subpar quality of Tacombi, which, surprisingly enough, is owned and run by Mexicans. So they should know better. Maybe instead of opening more Tacombi joints they should first improve the quality of their food to a decent standard. I should say that the decor and service were nice enough. But the tacos Al Pastor where so dry and tasteless and the tortilla was hard, clearly old, AND cold! No onion or cilantro to go with it either or even offered. Jamaica water was insipid to say the least. The shrimp taco was a mayonnaise filled mess, but tasty at least, but again the tortilla it came with was hard, and yes, cold. Add to that Brooklyn prices and it makes Tacombi one of the most disappointing food experiences I've had in years. All the glowing reviews are puzzling to me, but they clearly prove millennials in this neighborhood don't know the first thing about good Mexican food. Or food in general. Do yourself a favor and go to basically ANY other Mexican restaurant in the area and you'll have a much better meal. read more

Quick takeout service! Good menu selection and yummy food. Tried the watermelons agua fresca for the first time and it did not disappoint! The chips or Totopos are one of our favorites. The only downside to takeout is the tacos can get a little cold or the tortilla can become soggy but other than that very good food. read more

This place is amazing. The fish tacos are so good in this place which I was surprise because I'm not a fan of fish tacos. Everything in the fish jtacos Complementing each other. We also had the pastor which was really good too. I never had the corn esquitas but it was good for my first experience. The carnitas & barbacoa was good too. What a treat! I was in the neighborhood for Jimmy Kimmel's Live which was a an amazing venue! afterwards, I came out pretty hungry and what did I see across the street?!... Yes!! Tacombi!!! I am big Mexican Cuisine Fan so it was very convenient. The host sat us down pretty quickly so awesome for that!!! Luckily we came in just in time because the place got filled pretty quickly. The menu was also a form, which you fill out and add the number of items you want for any particular item. We started with Guacomole and Holy Moly!!! it was delicious, they made it semi chunky and had great texture. We moved on to the tacos and they were all delicious we great flavor. The only qualm I have was the "Carne Asada" taco was a bit runny. Other than that, they were all great. See my pics for reference. Our server was great, between making sure we were well taken care of and cleaning the table of the dishes. Had a lovely dinner with three friends. All of our food was good albeit a little pricey. I absolutely LOVED the Huevos con pastor; the mouthfeel was warm, rich and sublime and the taste out of this world. The pescadore was also a must re-order. The guacamole was spendy ... but delicious. I enjoyed the dulce con leche (?) - can't find it online? But the absolute STAR of our dinner was the waiter Rafael. Truly kind, warm, patient and lovely. I had started out 9 a.m. this morning just taking in the sights of the meaning of changes downtown Brooklyn Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Flatbush. I decided to go to Whole Foods to pick up a few items but my attention was drawn by the growling of my stomach and I wanted to satisfy the hunger first. When I looked across the street I noticed that there was a Mexican restaurant. I never saw this place here before so I said let me try it. It was nice to be seated immediately. I was handed a menu that allowed me to check off the items I wanted. Never eaten here before I was a little skeptical because I like my tortillas and taco shells made a flower. So I ordered two tacos rice and beans and of course guacamole and chips. As you see from the pictures everything looks delicious. It was nice that they gave me an option of different spicy hot sauces. My favorite was the Morita. The guacamole was a little Bland no hint of lime so I had to order limes. Both fish tacos were great except. The only thing that could have made them super fantastic was if they used flour instead of the Corn taco. My waiter was very helpful and very attentive. My bill came out to $31 which I think is a little pricey had it been something like 25 it would be a 5-star rating I give. The guacamole itself was $11 plus change. Nonetheless I gave a very decent tip I belched and that's how I can tell I enjoyed the meal. LOL I was in a hurry so I really didn't have a chance to go inside the restaurant and check out everything. read more

The food is watery the avocado had a chunk in it and it was a brown. Flew in from Georgia and daughter took me here first time at Tacombi as I was starving and LOVE tacos. We ate good but pricey tacos and enjoyed the scenery of warm NYC afternoon. It's ALWAYS Super yummy and the quickest take out, ever! If you pick it up yourself, it's like lightening. If you find yourself waiting for delivery, it's the "delivery" part that's takes forever.
