We went to see a show at Barclays and this spot had solid reviews. They did not disappoint. The place is completely packed. One server, one busboy, one bartender, two cooks and a dishwasher. Six people. They cranked out perfect drink after drink and dish after dish for the 90 minutes we were there. Oh and the world cup is on the tv too. Perfect corner bar vibe too. This place is loud and fun. Enchiladas were spot on and couldn't be more authentic. I had a salmon tostada app that was a meal in itself. Tacos were spot on perfect too. We finished up with some churros and they were really good and contagious too. The table next to ours saw it and ordered some too. No bullshit, this place blew me away and was a wonderful experience. decided to try this place on cinco de mayo without realizing the date, so it was super busy inside. they seemed a bit understaffed, but given how packed it was that day, it was understandable. when i was able to get service, everyone was very nice. i tried the tortilla soup and absolutely loved it. for the portion size and price, it was a great deal. this was honestly a really great option. it was cheesy without being too greasy or overdone, and it was a really good size. i had it as my whole meal and it was plenty filling. it was a little hard to get extra waters or ask questions just because of how many people were there, but i still had a good time. the restaurant was pretty loud and had an outdoor-style seating area, i ended up sitting in the back with two of my friends. read more

I was so hoping for a good experience here but it completely fell short. Our waitress sent the busboy to get our order & he was clueless. We (my sis & I) put our order in & then another different waitress came & asked us what was our order again. I ordered fish,shrimp,& chicken tacos w/ just cheese & avocado only & rice & refried beans. My order came out wrong & I sent it back. I felt like they just put the same fish & shrimps on different tortillas. There was some weird sauce & I pointed it out. The waitress told me it was just melted cheese but it clearly wasn't. On top of that,it wasn't even my full order. The chicken taco never came out & instead of the waitress apologizing she said I never ordered that (when I clearly did not once but 2 times once w/ the busboy & then her). The chicken taco told a long time to come out & so did my rice & refried beans. It looked like she completely forgot about it. I was waiting for her to say I also didn't order the rice & refried beans.When the chicken taco finally came out it was actually made correctly & tasted pretty good. The rice was ok & refried beans tasted like they came str8 out of a can. On top of that, we weren't given utensils & I kept refilling my cup of water w/ a bottled water I always carry w/ me. Despite everything we still decided to try dessert. We ordered all 3 options:tres leche cake,flan,& churros w/ Nutella to dip. The tres leches cake tasted nutty (it literally had some type of nuts on the icing)& had a strange taste. The flan tasted like it was sitting in the fridge next to onions or something. The churros were the only decent dessert but even those were mediocre. Inside had cool decor & there was Spanish music blasting through the speakers which was a popping vibe(the only thing good about my experience besides the chicken taco). Overall, this was a frustrating,sad,& disappointing experience. There will not be a next time, it's def a hard pass. I will not be returning. read more

Came here with my sister before an event at the Barclays Center to kill time. Service was pretty slow, no water refills and it took a while for plates to be cleared. Also no chips and salsa, which most spots usually offer. Tried a few tacos: the chicken was the best, and the chorizo had a nice kick. Bistec was just okay. The pastor was disappointing, no real pineapple pieces, could have used a kick. Got the Diablo drink, it was decent but I expected more of a ginger flavor with ginger beer being an ingredient . Desserts were a letdown. Tres leches was too soggy and grainy, flan tasted like fridge, and the churros were the best of the three but still greasy and oddly split. Overall it was just okay, nothing too terrible, but I probably would try a different spot next time. read more

I am SO picky with my margaritas and Bandido makes the best ones in the neighborhood hands down (and this is coming from someone who has been to almost every Mexican restaurant in the city lols) Service is friendly, tacos are still $5 in a city where people are charging $18 for two (I'm looking at you miti miti hahaha) and there is plenty of seating. Very quiet, small, unassuming place with a nice bar. My gf and I were looking for something with good food and a nice calm ambience and stumbled onto this place and we weren't disappointed. Excellent service! Our waitress was very nice, attentive, and accommodating. I had a very good margarita. Now onto the best part: the food! It was so good it caught me off guard. The quesadilla features a homemade corn tortilla that was BOMB! It really made the meal. It literally could've been an empty folded tortilla and I would've enjoyed it. Must try! We also shared the torta which was very good too! The chicken was perfectly thin and crispy and the bread had a sweet taste -- which paired perfectly with the rest of the savory sandwich. We found it to be very affordable. Platos fuertes were about $15. I think tacos were like $5-6. What a solid and review-worthy experience. The tacos (pastor and battered fish) were done RIGHT. The salsa that came with...chef's kiss. Mezcal margarita on happy hour...WIN! I do want to add this part most of all. There were 3 hard-working, fast moving women running the front of house tonight and they were SO impressive. I actually asked if any of the 3 were part owners. The HUSTLE and obvious care they put into this beautiful corner spot needs to be recognized. It was like experiencing a perfectly choreographed dance. The food was alright, but the sangria was lackluster. Unfortunately, the service took away from the experience. The waitress did a poor job of being accommodating and came across as unwelcoming. I remember when Besito was here before this place, and there were more menu options and a much more welcoming atmosphere. Because of that, I don't really understand all of the five-star reviews. On the night I went, there were only two other small groups in the restaurant--a party of two and a party of three--and the waitress had the same unwelcoming demeanor with all of us.
