Guac was great, burrito was not very good. Overcooked rice and meat, dry, not very flavorful. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating though.

Tacombi serves tacos to the masses across the street from BAM. The flavors are good, hot sauces are so legit, and selection of agua fresca is the bomb. Ingredient quality is excellent. But portion sizes are small, as in, a taco is four inches across. And then prices are high ($50 for two people without alcohol) so I hate to say it, but it's three stars. read more

2 visits in. Not super impressed with the tacos. First off, the decor is lackluster. Maybe because i know what the original place before used to be like. Just feels cheesy. I did like that they had the heated patio during the winter months. I tried a variety of their tacos including the Acapulco shrimp, and carnitas. The shrimp was swimming in mayo sauce. It was Friday so as my mom and I walked in we were told it would be a 20 min wait. They took my cellphone number and sent me a text 10 mins later to inform that our table was ready. I thought we were off to a great start. You are given a paper menu which you use one per table order. Ambiance: aluminium tables and lacking actual decor. There is an outdoor seating area but again nothing gran about it. There is a cute sink where you could wash your hands before and after getting your grub on. Service: once my order was taken I didn't see my waitress again until I received the check. Drinks-Pineapple agua fresca and the watermelon agua fresca. By far the watermelon agua fresco was delightful and so refreshing. Food: Guac and chips which felt like two spoon fills and for $11.95 I expected a bowl or guac Shrimp tacos- we asked if it was spicy and our waitress informed that the sauce was spicy. We asked for the sauce to be excluded but it wasn't. Baja crispy fish taco-the taco was good but the actual fish lacked flavor. This portion was bigger than any of the other tacos we had Al pastor tacos- these were very spicy but flavorful. The tacos are small and for a total of $40 I think it was a bit much given the portions. It's a trendy hang out spot but I don't think it was worth it. read more

I've been to a Tacombi location in Manhattan before, and was super excited to see they have delivery available to where I live in Brooklyn. I got a pork taco platter, chips and guac, a cup of corn, and one each of their bottled drinks -- margarita and mezcal. All of the food was super tasty -- especially the pork and the corn. The only thing I will say is I wish there were more onions or spice to the guacamole, but the chips that came with it more than made up for that. The drinks were also really good, and fairly sized for the price. Delivery was also right on time which was great! I would definitely order from here again. read more

Definitely a spot to come back to. Upon arrival with my daughter, the waitress accommodated us immediately at outdoor seating. Menus were given. The waitress was aware of the dishes and made sure if that was what my daughter wanted since it was spicier than the other meals. The margarita was awesome!, given in a plastic small container, so you could take it to go. There was no rush and the server asked if the meal was great.... $28 is a gouge to spend on street food-style selections--2 small tacos and a shared order of guacamole with chips--but that is what my tab came out to on a recent visit to Tacombi. The space itself is beautiful--high ceilinged, spacious, and inviting, just across the street from BAM, but the food was mediocre and heavily salted. Another one of my Yelp friends has also commented on the extreme levels of salt trending in restaurant kitchens across America right now-- either people aren't tasting the food that they prepare, or we're all being primed for heart disease, but both of my taco selections, a chicken al pastor and a Yucatan shrimp, were seriously over-salted. The guac was good but the chips were a bit oily, heavy, and nondescript. All in all the experience was a miss for me, especially when there are so many other wonderful (and less pricey) taco experiences to be had in New York and the outer boroughs. read more

Woke up this morning craving a bagel so I decided to go try Black Seed which I haven't had in over 6 years. It was just as bad as I remember it being 6 years ago. Had to find something to wash it down with so we stopped into Tacombi. I've had Tacombi when they first opened in soho many gears ago but this experience in Ft Greene was beyond. Gio and the young lady on shift with him were so welcoming and nice. First thing that stood out was when he asked to clear some plates we weren't using and I helped him stack the plates, he said "I appreciate you." The vast majority of service staff these days act like they are doing you a favor by giving you time out of their day, Gio was so refreshing. Then I asked the young lady what makes their red hot sauce so smokey but aromatic, she replied "its a secret but I can give you some to take home". Who does that? We were so excited. We told them our black seed story and they were so amused. As we walked out the Gio's colleague hit us with a coupon for free guac on our next visit. Who are these angels? The restaurant is besutiful, location is great and the food was amazing but the service and genuine love was out of this world. Thanks for making our day. read more

No, just no. You can't charge $8 for a tiny, medicore taco. Just stop. I won't even go into everything that's wrong with this place, but it's a lot. Way over-priced, tiny, below average stuff. Delivery guys are really bad, too. They don't come up to the apartment, and just left food in the hall of the building unannounced, for anyone to get. I tried a few times and now it's shame on me, but I won't be fooled again. read more

Be careful with large orders. We placed a pick up order for a group event a few weeks ago. Normally, I love Tacombi but it seems as though this location is not equipped for large orders. We were missing several items (like the rice and beans) and our guests were left hungry. I would normally be more patient but the worst part of the experience is the terrible customer service we received. Now being fully pregnant, it takes forever to arrange for calls, especially with the long holds and doctor appointments and being generally exhausted. We called late to report the issues as a result. The original manager Crystal was incredibly understanding, but her hands were tied. The other manager Eddie blamed me for being slow to report the issue and said it was my word against his staff. He didn't offer any solutions and instead blamed me for the mistake. I've never been so mistreated by an establishment. I eventually convinced him to give us a partial refund but left with an incredibly bad experience. Food is fine, but I recommend taking large orders elsewhere. read more

I came here yesterday with a friend and we were very excited to try this place after seeing it a couple of times on Instagram. Very sad to say how disappointing this trip was. The table we were seated at was so dirty and sticky and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. We were ordering drinks and we realized how small the margarita options were (original, spicy and watermelon). We ordered 2 watermelon margaritas which were okay and my friend asked if we could get water. The waitress brought out 2 glasses and as my friend was drinking her water she looked down into her cup and there were things floating in it. I hadn't drunken mine yet but I looked in the cup and there was also something floating in it. We told our waitress, she apologized and brought back 2 new cups. When we looked in the cups we saw that these cups were dirty on the inside. After that we decided no more water. For our meal - I got 2 carne asada tacos and my friend got 1 carne asada and 1 fish taco. The carne asadas were just alright but my friend said the fish taco was good. Another down side to this is that I had to go to the bathroom and have been the bathroom multiple times after eating these tacos. Sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

terrible customer service! i went here on a saturday afternoon yo grab tacos with my 3 yr old and it was busy so there was a 15-20 minute wait. i totally understand the wait time, i was ok with that. i asked if i should five my name and the hostess said no, and that i should just wait outside. so, my son and i waited for about 5-10 minutes outside and then a white couple and their dog showed asked for a table and got immediate service. this infuriated me! and it's honestly so sad to see that Black people like myself and my son are not respected i. the service industry. the host and this establishment should be ashamed of themselves read more
