From the moment I walked in, Taco Viva brought back memories of Tacos El Gordo. If you've been to Las Vegas or San Diego, you'll know what I mean. From the color scheme to the prep area, the two businesses seem quite similar. Thankfully, the line at Taco Viva moves much faster. The employees work quickly and there's plenty of seating available. When the weather's nice, step onto their patio. The food was amazing! While the Carne Asada was slightly dry, everything else made up for it. The Al Pastor is a "must try", so please don't pass up on it! With good food comes a price. I checked the menu (posted in pics here) before heading over, but the prices have increased. Still, it's well worth it. Bottom line: Run, don't walk. The food here is Muy Delicioso! read more

5/5 hands down best tacos in Phx. Staff are always great! My only issue is with their POS system. I don't know if it's toast or square but the suggesting gratuity values are FAR TOO LOW. For the value and quality of the food, suggested gratuity amounts should be bumped up to start at 18%/20%/22% instead of the measly 5%/10%/15% it's at now. The staff work hard and deserve more love than that read more

Wow, oh wow! The parking lot was jam-packed and we were worried that there'd be no room inside, but the place is massive and plenty of seating was available. The menu is painted on the wall - order up and then wait for your food to be delivered at the counter. And yes... it was delicious. Spicy and flavorful all around. We loved the carne asada fries with the queso and red sauce, along with the carne tacos, the al pastor, and the frijoles and chips. You can't go wrong here - it's all wonderful. read more

Did these tacos nearly change my life - yes, they almost did! They were flavorful, delicious and in the world where the economy is what it is, they were cheap! We came as a group of 5 for lunch on a Wednesday and the service was fast and friendly. Everyone loved their food and we swore up and down we'd do another work lunch here. I had the chicken taco, the small mushroom quesadilla, and chips and guac and everything was perfect! Make sure you ask for "con todo" when making your tacos! Highly recommend! read more

Mind blown again! It is crazy how good this place is. Always a long line but well worth the wait. The tacos are ridiculously good and the place is pretty cool inside. Been here 3 times now, tried many different things, all were good, but the tacos are where it's at. They are jam packed with meat. Unreal how good they are. I am craving more just writing this! Totally forgot to take a pic before we started chowing down. Everything we got was so good! We made a pit stop here before driving back home to LA. The asada fries are the best I've had so far! It comes with hot sauce already drizzled on, and I wish we got 2 more of this. We also got Al pastor, asada, and chicken tacos. Their take on chicken quesadilla is a little weird, and def not easy for the kids to eat. Other than that, everything was amazing. read more

Taco Viva In the heart of Arcadia District, 28th Street and Indian School Road is a Taco Shop serving up Street Tacos Quesidillas, and appetizers. Carna Asada Taco, I choose the Carna Asada Street Tacos, the flour tortilla is in house made, a generous amount t of meat, onions, cilantro and guacamole, pretty good stuff. Cheese Quesidilla was a street taco size quesidilla which was good but smaller than expected. Queso and Chips was good, I would order again and was a nice compliment to the tacos. Super friendly staff as the greet you as you come in, you feel like you at "Cheers" NORM!!!! Rosa read more

Best pastor I've had since Mexico City. Always a must when I come back home, their asada fries always hits as well.

Food is pretty good; I'm going about a 3.8 overall on this and have been here 3 times now. The food is good but it does fluctuate a bit on consistency- sometimes vampiro is dead in hot delicious and awesome and then other times... a little messy, maybe a little chewy on meat, and maybe a little overdone on cheese/ shell... still pretty good though. Asada fries .... Are ok at best, would t have them again - not bad, just not a repeat. Tacos are pretty solid and consistent and al pastor is ok to above average - asada is also on to above average (still plenty of chewy pieces of meat). Service is kind of slow.... Like always - that part is consistent. The service is friendly and they are patient with people ordering (this might be why it's slow). Ambiance... think like loud food hall and you pretty much nailed it. It's not bad and looks like it has some thought into the decor near the register - overall a place worth having again. read more

Just left, 10/10. Do yourself a favor and get the tostada and vampiro. And the salsa bar is amazing too

I love this place so much and so does my family. The place is very clean and the service is fast. Once you order you wait to the left to be called by one of employees and hand your ticket to them. They make your tacos in front of you. I highly recommend the al pastor tacos. They are delicious. Huge bonus is they have employees making fresh tortillas as well. We have tried most of the menu and everything is delicious. read more

I came here for lunch today with my fiancé and I was excited to try a new taco spot. What I experienced was disappointment. We each ordered 3 tacos. My order was correct. His order was incorrect. When he told the staff that his order was incorrect, they were defensive. They did not apologize and they did not offer to correct his order. They blamed him for their mistake. He walked away upset and the 3 male employees just looked at themselves and shrugged their shoulders. Food: good, not great. Salsa from the salsa bar was very good. Customer service: 1/5. The cashier was nice. I will probably not be back. I am big on customer service and cannot deal with crappy, dismissive service that puts profit before the customer. Especially when you're paying and the mistake was theirs. I ate my tacos but was too upset to enjoy them. read more

Tacos Viva is one of my favorite taco spots in Phoenix. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made perfectly every time. The carne asada is juicy and well seasoned, and the tortillas taste authentic and fresh off the grill. The service is fast and friendly, and the vibe is casual and welcoming. It's the kind of place you can go for a quick bite or sit and actually enjoy your meal. If you're craving real, no-frills tacos packed with flavor, this spot definitely hits. read more

GREAT SIMPLE TACOS!! I stopped in for an early dinner on a weekday, and the place was surprisingly quiet. The staff, including the cashier, were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. I sampled a bit of everything--Asada, Pastor, Pollo Asado, and Hongos tacos, plus the Tostada Pastor, Especiales Gabacho, Chips & Guacamole, and Carlota de Limón. Each taco was generously filled with meat, which was packed with flavor from the marinade and the smoky char of the grill. Even the veggie taco was a standout, with beautifully caramelized mushrooms. It's hard to pick a favorite, but as a big fan of pastor, that one was my top choice. The Especiales Gabacho was a bit too heavy on the cheese for my taste, but for cheese lovers, it would probably be a dream come true. The Tostada Pastor, however, was so good that I might even prefer it over the tacos. The guacamole had a bit too much garlic powder for my liking, but the Carlota de Limón was a real treat--like a cross between key lime pie and banana pudding. Overall, I'd recommend this spot, but considering the price, there are nearby taco places that offer better value. read more

This place is very nice inside and out. We stopped by on Sunday for a late lunch and it was pretty busy. The cashier was very friendly and cheerful as she took our orders. We ordered: Three mulas (two al pastors, one carne asada) One carne asada tostada Two chicken tacos One carne asada taco Two fountain drinks After we paid, we waited a few minutes for our turn to hand over our ticket to one of the taco men. Once our turn, we picked our toppings. We went with the "con todo" which is guac, salsa, onion, and cilantro. We picked one of the few empty tables that was towards the back and had to wipe it down. I saw other people also having to wipe down their own tables as well as they had crumbs and waste from previous customers. The food was good, but I would've loved for it to be hotter. By the time I sat down, my tacos were lukewarm. Our favorite meats were the al pastor and chicken. The mulas are delicious! The cheese that they are using is doing its thang - SOO good. We tried both tortillas - corn and flour and our favorite were the flour ones! Mmmm. There is a salsa bar by the soda fountain if you are wanting some more. The bathrooms were clean. We did see that they are going to eventually have the drive thru open! read more

This place is soooooooooooo good!!! I am a taco snob because honestly I can make them bomb at home but this place has me craving tacos all day! I tried the Carne Asada mula and my gf tried the Al pastor mula which is basically a quesadilla with meat I also tried the Al pastor tacos and they really load it up with meat!!!! They also give you all the toppings and the guacamole and chips also bomb!! Everything we had was so delicious. The meat was juicy not dry and salty. I highly recommend this place 10/10 for sure!! Also the guacamole that put on top of the tacos is real guacamole not the fake one IYKYK lol Also the mural is so funny to me!! Love this place!! read more

Probably the best tacos I've had in Phoenix. Quality is great, staff is friendly, and it is always a 10/10 every time I go.

I keep passing by this place and was curious to try it. It is a simple but quick and tasty place for good tacos. It reminded me of Five Guys but for tacos! The interior is filled with booths and tables. The decor is red and white. The menu is on the wall - they serve the basics but they do them well. You go up to order and then bring your food to your table. We ordered some tacos (one of each kind) and chips and salsa. The tacos were all excellent. The salsa with the chips was on the spicier side - beware! The price is very reasonable and the service is super friendly (the people behind the counter said hello and waved when I walked in). I saw lots of families come in when I was there too, so this seems like a family friendly place. read more

We were excited to have a new offering in our neighborhood. We went a couple days ago to check it out and ordered the following: Vampiro Al Pastor - this was the best of the bunch. The corn tortilla is fried with a layer of cheese until the cheese is crispy and brown. Unfortunately this muted all the cheese flavor and results more of a burnt oil flavor. The Al Pastor meat was well seasoned and flavorful. Quesadilla w/Carne Asada - first of all not a quesadilla in the traditional sense. It is two corn tortillas with carne asada and fried cheese inside. Really not good. Tortillas were very bland. Carne Asada flavoring was off. Al Pastor w/fries - pastor was good however, miscommunication on spiciness of sauce rendered this inedible for our taste. We love spicy. But this was smothered in a "burn a hole in your gut" sauce. The cashier who took the order assured us it wasn't that spicy. We tried to confirm that with the cook we handed our order to, but he spoke no English. So this one ended up in the trash quickly. Unfortunate...b/c we liked the Pastor on the taco that we ordered. Vampiro Carne Asada - Not much to add here. Did not like the flavor of the Carne Asado nor the crisp overly fried cheese on the tortilla. So not something we would ever order again. Service was nice and friendly and place was clean and inviting. read more

The man that made my tacos was wearing a name tag that said Erick. My ticket had 4 carne asada tacos and 1 chicken quesadilla. Erick asked if everything was con todo. Granted it was loud and hard to hear in there. It took me a few seconds to figure out what he had just said. Then I responded "only 2 of them." Meaning 2 of the carne asada tacos. He said to me "2 of what?" Before I could answer he looked back at the ticket and just started making the tacos. He was so rude. The service he gave is the reason why I will not go back. read more

forgot about my order after I had handed it to them and treated me poorly. I took some random tacos. I used to be their best customer.

Cool new place in the neighborhood, I smelled the tacos at the car wash next door and had to check it out. I've been twice now and the cashier even remembered me from last time which made me feel very welcome. The ordering process can be a bit confusing if it's your first time, you order and pay at the cashier, then you go to the counter and give your receipt to the guys back there and they prepare your food for you. I like everything that they put on the tacos and they have even more salsa options at their salsa bar. I've had the al pastor, pollo, and carne asada tacos and they are all good. read more

Pricing is pretty decent due to inflation. The music amazing. The portions are big. The food is tasty and the tortillas are fresh. As a Mexican my biggest compliment is their tortilla. The only thing that could make Taco Viva better would be a margarita! I had time to kill before going to the airport after vacation and was craving tacos. Yelp brought me to Taco Viva and I'm so thankful it did! I wasn't sure what to expect where first arriving. When you walk in, you order and pay first. They have a wide variety of tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, etc. to choose from. Once ordered, you move down to where you're greeted and the staff assemble your food in front of you, as well as add whatever toppings you'd like. I had carne asada and al pastor tacos...10/10 on both! Each taco was loaded up with meat and toppings, and I added some of their salsa options to each as well. The tortillas are next level, as they're made in front of you as you order. I also had the chips and queso which was delicious and definitely shareable! The staff were friendly and welcoming the whole time I was there. It felt like family was running the restaurant and they were inviting you in to join. The outdoor patio was covered and shaded to enjoy the beautiful weather. The street was kinda noisy but not enough to deter you! If you're looking for a fast and fresh lunch, definitely check it out here! read more
