Food is fresh, but the customer service can sometimes be lacking. All the veggies are crisp and colorful. The chips are made daily and are amazing. The portions are good for the price, and you can watch the food you ordered being made, an option that I like in a restaurant. Weekends seem the best time to go for good customer service. read more

Came here with a group of friends on our way back from Tahoe thinking we would find some authentic mexican tacos/burritos only to find a bad local version of taco bell mexican food. Growing up in Auburn I am not ashamed to admit I was one of those highschool kids everyone despises packing into this place at least a few times a month to get some delicious cheap Mexican-Americana. It's cheap, it's filling, and damn if it doesn't taste a whole lot better than any major fast food I have ever had the sad duty of eating. Though I spend most of my time out of town when I first moved out and came back I always had to make a stop at the Taco Tree for some good cheap grub. Check it out but be sure if you are going to this one by Placer High to avoid lunch hour while school is in session! The open campus floods here with good reason. There is also another one over by Hw 49 where it intersects Dry Creek Rd. just after the 76 station and the Arco, you can't miss it! read more

My daughter loves the small taco salad but it's 95% lettuce, so we decided to pay for an extra scoop of meat and have them put it directly in the 55¢ taco shell that we buy (since a small taco salad does not come with a shell, it just comes with the ingredients piled in a container). I'm told, "no problem" by the young man taking my order and then I hear the rude-ass workers talking about my order and what exactly did I order and blah blah..The dude was cool and explained what we were doing. I'm going to include a pic of the 55¢ shell and the 85¢ scoop of meat as soon as I figure out how to attach a photo. Taco Tree is beginning to be a joke. you guys are right on... it's not authentic mexican food for sure, but it's delicious none-the-less! i've always gotten great service, and their red sauce is delish. i get a bean burrito and a small nacho plus beans (sometimes with red sauce) and a large water EVERY TIME i go to auburn. and it's like, a whole three bucks for that almost-mexicany goodness. go splurge, it's for sure worth your three bucks. oh, and their large cups truly are LARGE, like some of the biggest cups i've ever seen. they're amazing. read more

Taco tree is a fantastic fast food option that isn't awful for you. They are always great to the community and the food is quick and easy.

This is the best taco stand-like place around. I mean what do you expect when your food arrives within a couple of minutes? The service is good, the food is tasty, and you can drive through or dine in. And, can you name a taco place that also has shakes? Bonus! I've heard people speak of Taco Tree before so I decided to try them out. I walked in and all the ladies were chatting as I was looking over the menu. I was at the counter then I hear one heavy set lady discuss how she's "itchy down there" and one lady tells her quickly to stop and that's not appropriate. She was behind a wall so I assume she didn't see me. I sat down waiting for my order and contemplated just leaving. I saw the lady that complained of a, "nusuiance down below" making some tacos and no gloves. She finished making them and called my number! I picked up my bag and left. I ate my tacos and with each bite felt sicker and more disgusted. I should have just thrown them in the trash. What was I thinking! read more

I like the Taco Tree. They have a simple menu and pretty much everything is under two bucks. The super taco tasted just like one you'd make at home - I like the fact that they use real cheese. When I lived in Auburn I went here all the time, and I truly miss it! It's sort of like Taco Bell..but different. It IS fast food, so it's not like "real" Mexican food, it's a different craving all together! What I REALLY like is that they have an item, the bun taco, that is just like the old Taco Bell Bellbeefer which was one of my fav items at TB years ago. I miss the Tree!! read more

Fast food that doesn't taste fast. Always served quick, fresh and warm. Great customer service. Anytime we've had an issue (which is rare) they've made it up to us. Great value for a family. Only complaint is parking and drive through. Small complaint for the value of food. read more
