This place is almost always my first stop when I come back home to visit. If you're looking for gourmet or authentic Mexican food, this is not it. But it is fresh, filling, simple food. I'm vegetarian, so I can't say anything about the tacos, but the super nachos are great (sans the beef). Try a bean burrito with extra sauce, it's delicious. And don't forget to get extra hot sauce packets on the side. The service is really fast (especially the drive thru). I tend to avoid it at lunchtime during the week as it gets pretty crowded with high school kids. I always end up eating way more that I should and spending way less than I expect. read more

I've heard people speak of Taco Tree before so I decided to try them out. I walked in and all the ladies were chatting as I was looking over the menu. I was at the counter then I hear one heavy set lady discuss how she's "itchy down there" and one lady tells her quickly to stop and that's not appropriate. She was behind a wall so I assume she didn't see me. I sat down waiting for my order and contemplated just leaving. I saw the lady that complained of a, "nusuiance down below" making some tacos and no gloves. She finished making them and called my number! I picked up my bag and left. I have eaten here many times before, mainly because the price is right and the drive in is convenient. I took a friend there for taco salads and when I asked for some extra salsa for my salad as there was no dressing offered, the Manager (not sure if she was the owner), piped up and said "we'll have to ring you up for that", there is already salsa in the salad!~ What they gave me as salsa was an oily substance with some onions and bits of tomatoes in it. I LOVE TACO TREE I can eat 3-4 of their regular tacos. The shell is kinda thin and they put tons of cheese. Tacos are the only thing I get here. Husband likes the nachos - they have nacho cheese :) The drive through line gets pretty backed up. Their location on Hwy 49 is a lot larger I will go back. read more

I've eaten at Taco Tree my whole life and will never go back... This is the second time in a row that we've had both terrible food and service! Tonight we went through the drive thru and got a soda that was not read back to us and was not ordered, we attempted to give it back and she rudely said we were already charged so we better just take it. I love Taco Tree, but not this location. Before going into my experience, I just want to say this is not authentic Mexican food and isn't supposed to be. It's decent, quick and simple. Key word, simple. I grew up in Auburn and have frequented Taco Tree for many years and I try not to write a negative review off of one bad experience. However, the beyond poor customer service has become a consistent happening that I feel the need to share. I had gone through the drive-thru one evening during finals week craving my usual 2 veggie burrito's with no olives and extra cheese. Drive all the way back home and open up my brown bag of goodness but what was inside was not my order. OK, no problem, people accidentally hand the wrong bag to customer's in the drive-thru every now and then. So, I drive back to get what I had originally ordered and when I explained what had happened to one of the employees inside, they acted like it was my fault some how. I literally had to open up the burritos and explain that what was inside was completely different than what I had ordered. The attitude that was given when I asked for my burrito's to be re-made was astounding. And it even showed when they gave me the redone order, IT WAS STILL WRONG! I didn't even want to ask them to re-make it again considering that they blatantly did not care about getting it right. I again, opened up the burrito's to show them again what was done versus what was on the receipt. I asked for my money back and there was no apology given or any sort of concern or recognition that they had made any mistakes. Perhaps it's my fault for going back to this location a second time...but I was there last night. Stood at the counter to wait to put in an order, one of the employees on the line yelled in the back for the cashier to come up 3 times but never said, "Hey thanks for coming in, some one will be right with you." Again, I ordered my usual and when my order was ready a female employee with blue hair literally tossed the bag on the counter and said, "Here's your order," as she walked away. No thanks for coming in, have a good night or eye contact. Completely uncalled for and I'm sorry, but I've worked in the service industry for a long time and no matter what you're going through outside of work, leave it at the door and put on a smile. I would be utterly ashamed if I knew the employees of a business I owned treated customers that way. Not to mention they were cleaning the floors as they made orders for the drive-thru. The only thing they got right was not having olives on my burrito....finally. I still love Taco Tree and their food but I recommend making the trip up to the location of of Hwy 49. They're extremely nice and get orders out quickly and the food isn't half-assedly made. read more

What can I say about The Bush..? So fricken good!! I'm on a Taco Plus kick right now and I can't stop. I'm going there right after I finish this review. Been eating there for 25 years.. it only gets old when you eat there more than 5 times a week. I'll never forget after high school bumping into one of my friends back from college and I asked if he was going to see his folks.. and he looked at me all disgusted and says.. I eat here all the time. The tacos are far better than anything Taco Bell offers. There is more meat and more cheese, and less lettuce than anything you get at Taco Bell. The staff is always friendly and the food is hot. It may not be authentic Mexican, but it's good food, priced right. All the kids at Placer High that eat here can't be wrong! read more

I used to live close to this one and go often. The food isnt bad and is inexpensive. The reason I no longer attend this establishment is the staff. They are soo rude! We got a taco salad to go, when our number was called the employee threw it on the counter then ran to the window to greet a friend. My bf asked for a bag the employee came back and threw the bag at him, snorted at him and rolled her eyes. I couldn't believe my eyes! I know they get a lot of business from the high school but that doesn't mean you can't have good customer service. I make a point to go to the one on dry creek the service is faster and professional. They also aren't stingy with their hot sauce. I recommend driving the extra miles. read more

This is the first time I've felt truly betrayed by a business's online ratings. This is by far the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. The only option for tacos was ground beef. That would have been my cue to leave if I hadn't been on a tight schedule. And the tacos are hard shell by default. Store-bought flavorless tortilla filled with 75% shredded brown lettuce, and the rest comprised of seemingly pre-shredded cheese, and store-bought "hot" sauce on the side--in plastic packets. Overall, in comparison to Taco Bell (which I detest), this place somehow manages to be slightly more expensive, slightly lower in quality, and offers a much smaller menu. read more

The main thing I have to say about this place is that it is dirt cheap. I was kind of in awe about how low the prices were. That being said I didn't know what to expect about the quality of the food. It is definitely not supposed to be an authentic Mexican food place so think Taco Bell. It was actually ok, not great but when you are paying that kind of money that could be expected. I got the super nachos and they do use nacho cheese sauce which was kinda of gross. I was hoing for some real shredded cheese. Also they barely sprinkled on ground beef so it was mostly refried beans and nacho cheese. Gf got the tacos which looked pretty standard, like taco bell. Would be nice if they had a salsa bar and that could actually bump it up a star. The overall look of the restuarant was actually pretty nice for what it is.
