Ok... in n out two days in a row? Well of course! The best travel stop in my opinion. We haven't been to this location before but it was in a great location right off the freeway. Quality food, excellent customer service and a quick and swift drive thru line! The employees were kind and detailed with taking our order and reading back what we ordered. Thanks in n out!

    Well Fry, crunchy Fry's.

Normally not a lot of variation in food quality from one In & Out to the next location, but the Grass Valley highway spot is consistanly good. Close to hwy 80 this place is always busy. Ordered the frys "Well Fry"from the cheerful young lady running the order counter. One of the many Not on the menu order options. Nice & crunchy and it appears they give you a bigger quantity of Fry's. Double double combo order is still a bargain in today's expensive dining out era.

    Animal style burger

My go to is the animal style hamburger add a whole grilled onion, chopped chilies, and extra on the lettuce , tomatoes, and pickles. On the side, I always get well done fries. In my opinion, I think that the drive-through is faster rather than ordering in and waiting for your meal. One thing I love is at the prices for the quality and quantity you're getting is on par. You can get a burger for around five dollars. I don't think I've ever had one time where the quality was not good or it wasn't fresh. I always go to this location on my way back to Sacramento from taco since it's on the way and directly right off the highway. Our order took a little bit longer than normal to come out even though we came basically right when I opened at 1030.

Glad I finally made it back so I can write an update to my previous review. Quality/Quantity - Back to our go-to travel food. I like this brand when traveling because they give us car trays and mats. So I can stay productive when traveling. Eating and driving. Today we got 4 cheeseburgers, all with different styles of onions. And my daughter's DOUBLE DOUBLE protein burger. For someone eating healthy, not sure how the "double" part fits in, lol. And we ALL shared one order of fries. Again trying (but failing) to eat healthier. Decent quantity, thank you. All of which were good. On this visit, my bread was "normal." Not rock hard like on my last visit. Atmosphere - Two entrances, we chose to come in the back part of the lot today. Drive through available, but then how will I take my Yelp pictures? LOL. Long narrow parking lot, another reason to come in from the back to avoid poor drivers. Indoor and outdoor seating. Service - The cashier was so friendly and hard working. If she was not a leader, I can see her being a future leader. Coaching, leading, and telling her co-workers what to do. As for speed of service, slightly quicker than a "normal" In N Out. But we know and do not mind that we have to wait as food is made to order. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Price - $26, inexpensive and a great value. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1948 with your 387+ locations and still keeping it within the family!! Thanks for keeping it simple and good!

Very nice location, tons of seating, really nice shady patio seating. The service was extremely fast and very friendly, super efficient right in the middle of lunch rush. Food came out very quickly and exactly as ordered. One of my absolute favorite In-N-Out locations when on the road.

Super fast and friendly service, and really nice shaded seating area. Super clean bathrooms, super quick order even being totally busy. Love me some protein style double double for the GAINZ.

Animal fries build thunder thighs which save lives lol but seriously LOOK AT THOSE FRIES yum

I stopped by this In N Out last night, having had good experiences with this location in the past. I asked them for extra grilled onions on my animal fries, and they made me some of the most Instagrammable animal fries I've ever seen in my life. They made them extra everything, which was what I really wanted. The burger was perfect, and was exactly what I asked for: double double animal style, no lettuce extra tomato, both kinds of onion. The drive through line was not too bad. It was very busy, but the line moved relatively fast. The cashier, order taker, and expo were all friendly, and all three of them clarified my order to make sure they had it correct. It's always a great experience at this In N Out, and I'll continue to stop by when I'm hungry in the neighborhood.

Great fast food in Auburn! Went May 7th..see my receipt. I went here at 1030am (when they open) to get my friend a burger as neither one of us had been here in a while. They are located in Auburn (right off highway 80). The line inside and outside was already quickly forming! I understand why they are always slammed..good burgers and good fries! The prices are still the most competitive in town. My friend ordered the number 1....animal style on the burger (is that a secret?!...i guess not!). It comes with their fresh cut fries and a drink. I had a bite of the burger..huge and juicy! This chain knows what works..consistently good food AND keeping their prices affordable! They have indoor and outdoor dining plus a VERY busy drive thru! If you choose the drive thru bring your patience because they are always busy! Cheerful employees. Clean inside. Well staffed. Its a treat going there..somewhat nostalgic!

I used to love coming here! I'm pregnant and I crave this and every time I go they mess up my order. I've gone five times in the last two months and every single time there's been a mess up, which is unusual but sucks! Employees are always nice. I even go when it's not busy and there's still seems to always be more than one error on my burger!:( sad

    SO FIRE

In-N-Out never disappoints! The food was absolutely delicious--everything tasted super fresh, especially the bread, which was soft and clearly not stale like you sometimes get at other places. The animal fries? Always a hit. Messy in the best way. And the shake? Straight fire. Thick, creamy, and the perfect way to top off the meal. Can't wait to go back! Service definitely great per usual !!

We went here after our small wedding at the courthouse. the staff was amazing! They even made us Just married hats and whoever drew on those hats did in awesome job. Thanks Guys for making it such a welcoming place to eat.

Right next to I-80 at the CA 49 exit, this In-N-Out Burger stands as the king of its own hill.

I have eaten at In-N-Out less than 10 times in my life, with this Auburn location winning the prize for the most visits ... definitely 3, and possibly 4. You can't help but like its easy on-off from I-80, the way it sits up on its own hill, and the parking situation. I like In-N-Out Burger. I'm just not in love with it the way some people are. This last visit explained to me why. The cheeseburger was very good and I like In-N-Out's sauce. As I went along putting the order together with medium fries and a medium drink, it then dawned on me that it's one of the 3 easy order combinations. The young lady taking the order was way too nice and it was not in her demeanor to correct me or suggest 'the next time you can ...' That said, all of the employees here are very polite, but then Auburn and West Placer County seem to have kids with better manners than in many corners of nearby Sacramento County. The entire meal combination was actually good. I tried the low-sugar pink lemonade for the first time over a typical cola drink. It was tasty and refreshing for that warm day. However, I had a little bit of an issue with the fries. The fries were indeed good, but many of them were too short to pick up to dip into the little paper cups I pumped ketchup into. This was a little frustrating. The store interior is clean and, not only that, it's more enjoyable to eat inside, given the bright atmosphere and windows, instead of chowing down your tasty treats in your vehicle or taking the food to go. Eating outside at the circular tables is also a good option here. I will say I was expecting the restroom to be a little cleaner. You know that there will be a wait. One only needs to look at the line of cars outside and, with this load and attendant demand, it typically slows down the process for those in the dining room to get their orders. The only thing that could make this more palatable is seeing all the different types of vehicles coming and going, as well as trying to figure out who is a local and who hails from the Bay Area or is on a long-distance road trip. I'm good with In-N-Out about once or twice a year. The only one that doesn't need to twist my arm much is the Los Angeles Westchester LAX location close to the airport's north runways. There, I can eat and plane spot at the same time. Here, you can enjoy the natural surroundings of this little Gold Rush town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. So, without going down the trite road of whether you took a long bus or a short bus to school, they can work on more longer fries and fewer shorter ones.

    Grilled cheese animal style
    Kimberly N.

We have been to dozens of In-N-Out locations over the years. We have been to this one in particular many times - a regular stop during roadtrips. On our most recent visit, I had the best Grilled Cheese Animal Style, my usual order from their (not so) secret menu, out of any I have ever had before! Everything about it was surprisingly super fresh and delicious! We also had a couple orders of fries, one animal style. My daughter also had a refreshing root beer float. We ended up sitting at one of their outdoor tables to enjoy the nice day. Also, the service was great- as expected from this well-run fast food chain. See you on our next road trip!

There was a good amount of outdoor seating along with a few tables inside as well. The vibe there was pretty lively and fun, almost reminded me of old-time burger joints. After ordering my Spicy Johnny burger and onion rings, it only took about 15 minutes to receive it, which is understandable because the food is fresh and made to order! At first glance, it worried me that the burgers seemed slightly small and I was worried I would still be hungry afterwards. However, I was decently satisfied after eating (although I do still wish it was slightly bigger). The burger was packed with flavor and extremely juicy. The spice on it packed a decent punch that satisfied my tastebuds! And the onion rings were great! They weren't hot when I received them, but they were still crunchy. I was wondering if the burgers came with sides since they are in the pricier side, but it doesn't. But after eating my meal, I was pretty satisfied and everything tasted great, that the prices were justified. From photos, the burgers seemed small, but was happy to find out the burgers were a good size. I ordered the New Fashion and added cheese to it, plus family size onion rings. The burger was very filling and tasted really fresh and flavorful without being overpowering. But I do wish there was more lettuce than just one piece. The onion rings were made perfectly and wasn't overly greasy. After my meal, I went back to order a small ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. I love how they include this cute little plastic anti-drip cone holder! Overall, the entire experience was good and everything was delicious. I'd come back!
