The reason this is a 3 star review is because my buddy really likes this place. Quality/Quantity - Regular Pastor Burrito - My buddy's favorite burrito. This is his new go-to place for burritos after a ski trip. He raves about the flavor and the slight kick. Unfortunately for me, the pieces of meat he gave me were all fat. I don't mind a little fat with my pork for the flavor, but not a whole big chunk. I guess I am just unlucky. Thai Chicken Burrito - My other buddy got this, I felt this was the best of the 3 burritos. I might get this next time. Steak Ranchero Burrito - I wanted to also try a "gourmet" burrito, but this was not to my liking. Maybe it is just me, but I felt the lettuce did not blend well with the other ingredients. The rice proportion did not seem correct. There was quite a few pieces of beef that were not edible. Lastly, it was not mixed well; I like to get a bite of everything with each mouthful. Next time I will try a "regular" steak burrito. Chips - Was also not to my liking. I can not describe it, but it left an aftertaste. I did not get seconds. All burritos were HUGE in size, not one of us was able to finish. I guess we will have dinner tonight. The door advertised deal looked really good - $8.99 for a Modelo and two street tacos. The cashier did not seem to be in a friendly mood, so I tipped her generously hoping to make her day better. I believe the owner is the chef. He was bringing out food and talking to his other guests, but never saying hi to our group... Price - $15 + generous tip. 55¢ credit card charge - You should let the customer know prior to adding this to the bill. More and more businesses are charging this which is fine by me, just let the customer know. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success. My friend is a loyal customer, so I will be back. We have a new favorite place to stop between the Bay Area and Reno area! Burritos Jalisco in the Raleys strip mall complex near Ikedas. Plenty of people frequenting this unassuming restaurant. We ordered a chili rellano burrito, a couple steak ranchero burritos, and a plain bean/cheese with quacamole. All burritos were to die for...and huge! There's a chip/salsa station with 3 types of fresh salsa; chipotle, hot, and a milder green. The red ones were very spicy! I could not tell how mild the green salsa was because I was enjoying the endorphins from the first two! My horchata drink was cinamonn-y and refreshing. The kids were trying to steal it away. I was really looking forward to trying this place based on the positive reviews but it did not impress. It could've been an off day for them but nothing that we ordered was very good. After the meal, I felt pretty sick so, because of that experience especially I will not be returning. Fish taco: 4/10 The fish was incredibly mushy and very fishy tasting which was unappetizing. The tortilla was very soggy to the point of it all falling apart after one bite of the taco and I found a hair in the taco. I did like the sauce that they put in the taco though! Chicken flautas: 4/10 The tortillas were, again, really soggy. The flautas were under seasoned and the chicken was over cooked. Thai Chicken Burrito: 3/10 The veggies were cooked nicely but the rice was over cooked. They slathered Thai chili sauce over everything and it was incredibly sweet. He was not lying about it. He even told us the place was family owned over 20 years and it was a pleasure to come by and check it out. Normally I do small review but this place is to die for I like how comfy inside was and they have a small salsa cart station, play some good music, parking is great next to a few other food place it's located in raleys shopping center. I only got a Carnitas super burrito here but If the rest of their food is the same then this place is a winner! Usually when I get anything with Carnitas they come one of two ways: 1) right out of the pot. 2) crispened up on the flat top . I prefer the ones that are crispy and have that caramelized crunch. Burritos Jalisco does it the right way by putting it on the flat top until it's got a nice crisp! Lots of places just salt their pork and cook it. This place adds great spices that really make it taste delicious! I'm sold, the only regret is they are not closer to where I live :-( The staff is nice and friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Highly reccomend! read more

Have a huge parking lot. I think that was the main attraction for half the crowd. Half the crowd came in work trucks and trailers. They can't pull into a single spot. The place is no. Nonsense. They have 3 outside tables, what was a deal breaker for us. We brought our dog and it was lunch time for everyone. I got the street taco and I'm not usually a fan that raves, but I'm a fan. It was delicious. My honey got the carnitas burrito. It was huge and it lasted through the trip. I'd say most if not all were locals. This is a must visit place on your way to Truckee/Tahoe. This young lady locked the door on my husband at 8:05pm when he had already had the door open. He was just waiting on me to finish a call. Sad thing is all we wanted was one taco. Fantastic Taqueria. I'm from SoCal- we are Mexican food snobs. We know what real beans/rice/salsa should taste like. This place is as good as it gets in the area. Between this place and Maddie's cafe in Colfax you can have all your authentic mexican cravings satiesfied. Phil is the owner and he's a good dude. My friends and I are vegetarian, he'll even do special things off the menu like a mushroom/zucchini filling for tacos etc... Everyone knows you judge a taqueria place by the chips and salsa and this place does not disappoint. It's conveniently located right off the freeway and their portions are huge, prices are reasonable. We've tried the fajitas, burritos (dry and wet) and tacos. Guac and salsa is amazing. In my opinion they have the best rice and beans in the area.
