It's always good to be back here for a meal and of course, HH with their tacos. When we arrived there were only two other tables being utilized on the patio. We could hear the tables across asking the waiter why it was pretty mellow as HH is so worth it. And yes, it is worth it. It was still early so maybe that was a factor. Anyway, it's a staples here in Belmont Shores. They have a nice patio along the main strip which is perfect for people watching. Inside seating available but with it being so nice, you have to be utilizing the patio. It's pet friendly so the pup can enjoy the afternoon with you. We came for HH which mainly consist of a few items. Drinks specials of course, and tacos. You have the classic for 2.99, fish for 3.99 and a couple side items. We tend to stick with the tacos sometimes the stomach wants more...lol... And let me say, there's something about their chips and salas that's so nostalgics. I don't know if it's secret recipes but I sure do remember it way back in the days. Just bring back fun times at the other location. Anyway, their street tacos are quite nice. An easy eat but with a decent amount of protein. A selection was ordered with grilled chicken, grilled beef, al pastor and their fish tacos. Perfect size for street tacos. Also their side items, the nachos with cheese which we added beef to for an additional fee and the cheese fries. They're basically like kids menu items but quite nice. The service has alway been great. Staff are alway so friendly and welcoming. Our food has alway been great which is why we come back. Their salsas and chip is excellent. Came for taco Tuesday. I usually get either the potato taco lunch plate (served all day!) or HH tacos for 2.99 so I wanted to see what taco Tuesday had to offer. They have a different selection of tacos for taco Tuesday. Tacos are 3.50 and a pretty good size. I got a chicken taco with sautéed mushrooms and a delicious chipotle and sauce. I really enjoyed the sauce combined with the mushrooms. I ended up getting a second one. Of course we had to add a HH marg to that. Service is always super friendly and fast. read more

Today March 28 was the "day of Camarones"as my wife had never tried. She is from New Orleans and is VERY "picky"about shrimp. The Taco Shore Shrimp were fresh and delish". We came back for Taco Tuesday! All day on Tuesdays they offer their Taco Tuesday menu. All tacos, soft and hard shell, are $3.25 each. We tried fish, carnitas, shredded beef, and potato. Really two each is plenty and we had three, food coma! They were all good but we liked the carnitas the best. I ordered a Cantarita, similar to a Margarita but more citrus forward including Grapefriut Juice. It was so good, I ordered a second,.which I never do! My husband ordered the Michelada, again, but this time with Modello Negra. Large and tasty! Service was great. Sofy was our server and she was very friendly and attentive! Wanted some Tex-Mex and tried Taco Shore for the first time. Took the 121 bus from right outside our Condo in DTLB to right outside Taco Shore. No parking/driving necessary! The staff is super friendly! The prices are very reasonable. Just drinks and apps this trip. Cadillac Margarita in a schooner and a Grey Goose martini for drinks. The Guacamole dip was my favorite. The cheese dip with chorizo is good. The ceviche tostada is ok. All the aperitivos are large portions. Next visit will be for Fajitas and Quesadillas. I'm including the menus as of 2026. We came here on a Sunday afternoon (before Labor day) and the street was lively. There was already a few people eating before us so that was a good sign. They have a pretty big menu, I got the chille relleno and birria taco. The chile was good, big size, really cheesy. But the birria taco was pretty dry and it didn't come with consome which I thought it did :( there was also no onions or cilantro for it either My friends got a burrito, pozole, tacos, and enchiladas which were pretty standard/good. Wow, right on Second Ave! We were looking for a new place to eat and came across this place. Let's skip the parking situation for Second Street on a Friday night. It is bad, we all know it. Nothing we can do about it. If it bothers you, done come to this part of town. We came across this place and it had outdoor seating. Thought we would give it a try. We ordered a margarita sampler and some chips/salsa. For a busy Friday, they came out within a reasonable timeframe. The waitress was busy but kept up with e eryone sitting outside. Chips were good but salsa didn't have much flavor. I cannot recommend the margaritas. Any place that makes margaritas south of Fourth Street does something weird with them. Is there some seltzer water or something with carbonation in them? We tried a second sampler with 4 different flavors. I cannot recommend those either. I have to admit that margaritas are more than a sum of their parts. This experience proved it. I ordered the 3 tacos plate with el pastor and chicken. My husband ordered the taco salad. Neither bad quality but it was difficult to say they had flavor. I found myself using a lot of salt to finish my meal. The meal was reasonable (about $40/person with cocktails). I know this place is called Taco Shore but I decided to order a burrito because I'm a contrarian. First the positive. The service provided was exceptional. Our server was a super friendly and attentive server and she had great support from other employees. Great team effort! My burrito was pretty good, it was HUGE! I wasn't going home after, so I forced myself to eat it since I couldn't store it properly. I was full for 24 hours! 18 bucks to not eat for a day is a good deal in my book. I really loved eating outside on their patio, on a nice summer day, it's great for people watching on 2nd. Now the 2 parts I don't like. 1. They serve their salsa in these tiny little dishes that are probably made for soy sauce at a sushi spot. I get not wanting to have too much waste but 4 or 5 chips will empty the salsa dish. 2. I left my favorite sun hat at our table. I called about 30 minutes to an hour after I left to ask if they had found it and they said they didn't. I was devastated because I love that hat. My buddy went back the next day to see if it was found and he saw it displayed on the wall with some sombreros. I'm super glad they still had it but the situation makes me feel a little weird towards the restaurant. read more

Poor attention to detail, communication and execution. Had a Duffy rented on Friday evening and one member of our group was tasked with picking up online order from Taco Shore. When she picked up order she the bags were tied off on top, so, instead of checking she asked multiple times if the entire order was there. She was assured that it was there. We arrive at dock to load Duffy and low and behold part of the order was not there. She had to drive the 10-15mins back to the restaurant and pick up the order. No apology given or offer for a discount. We were 10 minutes late boarding our Duffy and in turn shortened our trip by 10 minutes. Money lost on rental cost if you prescribe to the time is money cliche. Although requested, silver ware and napkins were not added to order. The dressing for one of the groups salad was missing. My pregnant wife and I were hungry and looking for food in the area. And although the area is packed with restaurants, there are very few for Mexican food. Their carne asada is TOP TIER. What Happened!?? I ordered the $19 Seafood Bowl with no beans. I got maybe a half scoop of rice in a separate container (never received it like that before). The to-go container with the shrimp and fish was on its own ..not full at all. I didnt get extra rice in leue of the NO beans. This wasn't even a full meal. The service was fine and the outdoor seating is great but what i ordered was just ok. BIG portion for a chicken bowl. I could not even finish it. The chicken was not really seasoned at all. Just looked like white meat chicken so it was all just sort of bland. The baja sauce was bland too and didn't really help. Also i love cheese but thing was drenchhhhed in cheese (see pic). I won't hold my tongue or eat my words, but I will eat my tongue. Read my lips, Taco Shore is the most authentic Mexican restaurant on 2nd Street. How can I say that? It's in the tongue. When I saw the "Lengua" option on the taco menu, it's the real deal. And when I bit my tongue, not only wasn't it painful, but it sent me to gustatory heaven. It's tender and flavorful, and you can't just get this experience at any restaurant outside of a food truck. The fish tacos were just as memorable. The fish was fresh and fried to a crispy delight. Topped with fragrant guacamole, how can anyone not fall in love? The horchata was not quite as "rico" as I had experienced elsewhere, but it didn't take away any pleasure from the meal. Went to Taco Shore over the weekend, used to go here when it was Taco Surf and never had any issues with the food. I ordered 3 tacos with chips and salsa. Either the oil from the chips or tacos was old or of poor quality or the mahi mahi wasn't fresh because I immediately felt nauseous after eating the tacos. I only lasted through a few bites. Felt sick for about 6-8 hours after consuming the food and I felt fine before. After an at home detox, fasting, and nutritious food the next day did I feel back to normal. read more

Had a great time at Taco Shore yesterday for 3 of my cousins' bdays! We went around 11am on a Saturday for brunch. They have bottomless mimosas for $11 with the purchase of food, great deal! When we arrived it wasn't very busy and we were able to seat ourselves. We had a big group of 14 so they did help us arrange the tables outside to fit our group. Our waitress was nice, funny, and always made sure we had champagne in our glasses! They give you glasses of champagne and then they have 3 different juices you can choose from to make a mimosa, they gave us cranberry, orange, and pineapple juice. The food impressed me as well! It was good and huge! Most of us had trouble finishing our food because it was a lot. Plus they give you chips and salsa so we also had that before our meals. I ordered the 3 taco plate with a fish taco, Al pastor, and a asada taco that had beans and melted cheese in it - all 3 were good! The asada was my favorite and the fish was actually my least favorite. I got to try their flautas which were really tasty, and you get to choose from different meat options, we did 2 shredded chicken, a shredded beef, and potato. I really like the potato one! The ceviche cup was good as well and their beans that I tried from someone who ordered enchiladas. Other people ordered the chilaquiles and various burritos, the burritos were huge!
