    Cochinita de Pibil-so tender

I have been patiently waiting for this place to open. I remember walking into VerdeGo Mart looking around for the tacos when they first opened. Today is that day I try them. When you walk in, head to the back. You can see the different meats they have. I went with two tacos. Both on the weekend special menu (cochinita de pibil and barbacoa de res). You can add rice, beans, pico, sour cream, cheese, etc to your taco. I'm pretty plain. Meat with cilantro and onions please. They hand you a paper bag with your tacos inside and a receipt to take to the front to pay. I walked over to the salsa bar. Oh my! They had nopales (cactus)! What?! Score! I got a cup of it along with three salsas to try. All salsas were good and spicy. Score again! There are high tops you can sit at near the back where the tacos are. I wanted to devour these at home. The tacos were so good. Kudos to them for trying to drain the oil before putting the meat on the taco. Also, they are not shy about the meat. Yyyeeesss! So good. They were gone so quick I wanted more!!! Tips: you may want to put the tacos in a plastic bag if you take it home. My tacos dropped from the bottom of the paper bag. Oopsy. I'm so glad I came in here to try these tacos today. They are so good...Yummy! I can't wait to see these tacos again.

Chorizo and egg breakfast taco. Oooh yessss!

This place is DELICIOUS! Who'd have guessed a little stand in a gas station could satisfy all the expectations of a da*n good breakfast taco? Service was excellent. Food was fantastic. And salsas... SO MANY SALSAS! Each one was fantastic. My sisters and I visited this place, as it was a spot on our Taco Crawl. It got 5 stars from each of them. Too bad they live out of state. Seeing as it's just down the street, I'll be sure to eat two additional portions in their honor. Mmmmmm!

A good taco stand in the back of a neighborhood gas station? Yes, please. I asked for their two best tacos, cook's pick. I received the cochinita and the campechano. The cochinita comes as a simple taco packed with delicious flavor, and a ton of it. I dressed the it with onion, cilantro, lime, nopales, and a few drops of the habanero salsa. A great taco. The campechano is 50 cents more and worth it. It's a significantly larger taco packed with beef, pork, beans, and rice. I topped it with basically the same as the other but did the molcajete salsa instead. The flavor wasn't as full as the cochinita as this meat isn't marrinated like the other. I'm very happy with both tacos. One extremely flavorful. One very filling and delicious. Everything is nice and clean, including the salsa bar, which was speight robust with options. Another great food option to have in Round Rock East!

This is called the lunch plate, they have a regular one and a Deluxe one. It has an assortment of food on it! Just straight up Delicious!!!

Taco N Mama has never stopped amazing me, everything that they add to their menu tastes great. If you can try the Torta Cubana, it'll beat any expectation you have of it! The staff is super friendly and will always help you in any way they can. Even if you want breakfast tacos during lunch or afterwards they will make them fresh for you right in front of you. Honestly can say way better than any other taco place in Texas!!!!

These tacos are probably not the most extravagant but they are the most flavorful and genuine that I have had.

So got a steak taco, barbacoa taco and a chicken quesadilla. The staff was extremely nice. I explained I couldn't have any cross contamination with pork she made sure the kitchen knew, which was greatly appreciated. So the barbacoa was ok, steak was very good and the chicken in the quesadilla was probably my least favorite only because I'm not sure if it's meant to be grilled, fried or simmered. But the chicken seemed like it was boiled then put in the quesadilla and fried on the flat top which would have been fine but the chicken seemed quite dry. Maybe I came in at a bad time not sure because when I had it at the truck I was dreaming about it for weeks so maybe it was just not my day but over all it wasn't bad and the 3 star is more because my expectations were set based on the other location. I am definitely going to be back to chase that first time flavor again but this time it just missed the mark unfortunately.

Stumbled on this place while headed to Hoody's and it was packed so we popped in. Seat yourself - nothing fancy. The vibe here is local Mexican restaurant. The server was nice but became more engaged when I spoke Spanish to her. She greeted us with chips and two warm bowls of charro beans, which were absolutely delicious. My husband had a Cuban-style torta which was huge and he inhaled. It's not a Cubano - it's a traditional torta with ham and cheese added. He had fajita steak in his and said it was phenomenal. Honestly we could have split this and both been full. I have the taquitos plate. I went with chicken breast and al pastor (2 of each). Came with optional cilantro and onions (don't skip) and grilled onions/pepper plus a side. I couldn't finish it. The chicken was soooo good - very flavorful and not dry, some of the best chicken breast I've had in a while. The Al pastor was good too, but the chicken was exceptional, which I never thought I'd prefer! Under $30 with drinks and tip, this was very very good. The chicken soup others were enjoying also looked stellar - nobody was looking up from their bowl. Great little find. Will definitely be back!

It was good but, I think the other location uses more pepitas and maybe a touch of sugar and salt? The place is super clean and the chips are definitely made in house, not sure what the other reviewers were taking about. Maybe they came when there was an off day? I think the complaints other reviewers have left is due to not understanding the cultural difference. The kind folks that work here, some don't speak English so maybe it was a communication break down. There's a lot of flavor! This is definitely NOT Tex-Mex! Thank God for that! It's more of an outdoor, picnic-style setup that honestly feels like you're at a family barbecue, which made the experience even better. The food was excellent. The birria and barbacoa were rich, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell the meat is cooked the traditional way. They also offer traditional cuts like cabeza and lengua. I tried them even though they're not really my personal preference, but I appreciated that they offer those authentic options. What really stood out was the hospitality. The gentleman working there was awesome. He showed us the barbecue pit and even gave me a taste of fresh lamb barbacoa straight from the pit, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. At the end they were already cleaning up and closing, but I asked for a jamaica and he still brought it over and didn't even charge me for it. Great food, authentic cooking, and genuinely friendly people. It felt more like a family cookout than a restaurant, and I'd definitely come back.
