I saw the sign a few weeks ago and was excited for a quick, inexpensive place to have lunch. I was super happy to walk into a clean, cool (temperature), new place with nice black tables and chairs. I was greeted, seated, meun-ed, quickly. Staff was friendly and patient as I overheard one girl explaining caldo and mariscos to a big blue collar gringo. I ordered two pastor tacos with corn tortillas and a chicken tosada, a glass of water and a diet coke. The drinks came in glass glass and I was provided a glass of ice for my can of coke, too, with straws. Food was fast as i returned to my table with red sauce, chunky cucumbers, and limes my food was there! Yum. Pastor was flavorful and crispy, a bit dry but much better than sopping wet or greasy. The chicken tostada was layered with beans and hand pulled chicken and yummy crumbled cheese and sour cream. The meat was not overseasoned, nor too salty! I wanted to make a pig of myself and eat two more pastor taocos, but I did not have time for an afternoon nap. read more

Taco More - 2 Pastor Tacos, mild red sauce, chunky cucumber and lime, and chicken tostada. Yum. - Tacos Near Me - Austin, Texas

Shame on me for waiting so long to visit here. The signage is pretty big and inviting and im always in the area. Well, i went for lunch on the premise of getting tacos, but ended up getting a Torta and a Cabrito soup. Both were tasty and priced right. The decor is simple but festive and the wait staff was pleasant. Will go back for tacos soon. I think they only take cash, but it just may have been a computer issue. read more

The previous times I have been there I loved it. But tonight the service was horrible!! Total of four people went and only 1 persons plate was right. Ordered chicken sopes and they brought them with chicken lettuce and cheese not the way the menu describes it. Also ordered a carnitas taco which usually comes with cilantro and onions I asked for no onions my taco came loaded with onions and cilantro when I told our waitress she immediately blamed the kitchen she then brought me a plain carnitas taco which it was obvious they just scrapped the toppings off. I took a family member for the first time hoping he would love it. He ordered a sope de pastor without any cheese or sour cream hoping they would get this plate. We were wrong it came out loaded with queso fresco and cream we didn't want to be the table that complained so he ate. Next was my sisters plate she ordered a chicken sope with just lettuce and cheese and again it was messed up all with diced tomatoes and told us that's how the chicken came which is not true since my sopes had no tomato in the chicken. When we finally decided to pay and leave I told the manager that our whole order was messed up he looked at me and looked down then turned around to talk to his friend at the cash register. I think that was more disappointing. I would like to go back but not if the customer service is going to be so poor. read more

Great taco selection. Easy and fast in and out at lunch. The horchata was ok but I've made better at home.

It was like walking into Mexico. The food is very authentic as other people said. The menu is in mostly Spanish so we had to look up a lot of things. The food was very fresh though and pretty good. They also served us very quickly but overall the service wasn't up to par. Their prices were very cheap, which was nice. read more

I will be nice to this restaurant giving them 2 stars because the food is not bad but service horrible my friends like the charro beans, and they always bring a plastic spoon with it, and when we ask for a silver wear they always ¿say? Le me see if we have some clean that's ridiculous a don't recommend this place the servers don't look professional and look mad all the time. BAD SERVICE read more

No good service at all . Worst place I've ever came to . Everyone was rude .why have people who work if they don't want to work . And gives everyone ugly faces and walks away everytime I try asking for more water . Never coming back again! read more

Yum! Being from California I'm used to good Mexican food and haven't found anything great yet here in TX but this places was good, which you can tell because lots of Latinos frequent the place. The sopes are really good as well as the tacos, and they have a giant salsa bar with lots of salsas and pickled goodies. In terms of the size of what you get for the price it's a tad bit pricey. ($2.50 for a small taco and $4 for a sope). Having said that, I'll be back! read more

Bueno, Bonito y Barato!! You won't know 'til ya' go!!

The food is good and fast to server. The number here on the site is incorrect though. It should be 916-8888 if you want to call ahead an order for pick up. read more

This is my first yelp review for a reason...they really deserve an awesome review, and because I want them to stay open forever and always. Basically, this is as close to a first-class Mexican street taco you can get in this town. There are many good tacos in Austin, and even many good Mexico City/Leon-style street tacos around, but Taco More is my go-to when I get homesick for the real deal. All the tacos are good, but the real stand outs are the carnitas, cabrito, and any gringa (but especially chorizo). Plus it's super cheap and clean. If you're not in the mood for tacos, give the goat soup (consomme de cabrito) a try, or the shrimp cocktail (coctel de camaron)...you won't be disappointed. read more

The owner was arrogant and had poor customer service skills and very wishy washy with the prices when I tried to buy chips and salsa.

My FAVORITE taco place in Austin. They have a great cold items bar to pick your favorite salsas. The warm salsa served while you wait is also super delicious. Everything is affordable and really good. I prefer this location to the one off Rundberg because the atmosphere is a little nicer and brighter. read more

Overall the food is great..just recently moved to Texas and I experienced the worst customer service ever. I work in walking distance and had to take my order back 3 times.....the young lady needs to pay attention to customers instead of conversating with co-workers. read more

The food is very very good good, tasty tasty, no cheese (they don't put cheese everywhere!). I'm not a mexican guy, but I think I can say it's an authentic Mexican food at a very reasonable price. And the service is quick. read more

Came in for the first time recommended by my brother, the warm salsa and chips are a nice touch, tortilla chips have no salt on them which is pretty great. Salsa was good wasn't made with bs canned tomato paste. Service was quick, the waitress wasn't super attentive but it's pretty much a norm in these types of establishments which is not a big deal to me. Anyways order was all right. The agua Fresca is pretty good I had Jamiaca (Hibiscus) my sister had Tamarindo ,had a tang but was good as well. I had a carnitas, Cabeza, and a al pastor taco. The tacos were superrrrr greasy, but it's expected w/ these meats but I felt it was little excessive nonetheless I took a few napkins to em and dried it out a bit. The meats were tasty. They also have a salsa bar with a couple of toppings which is pretty nice. Price is decent as far as tacos go didn't explore much of the menu. A nice touch as well is that they do free refills on aguas frescas. Place is kept pretty clean. Over all I recommend. read more

This place is a lot cheaper than Torchy's and other fake American versions of Mexican food. This place is authentic and the service for take out is good. They have a huge salsa bar. The breakfast tacos are only $1.75 which is a good deal. read more

Great little find! Loved the chicken flautas. My son and husband had al pastor, carnitas and chorizo tacos and said they were awesome. Quick service and friendly staff! read more

I am very picky about my Mexican food and especially tacos. But this place rocked them! I tried their torta de milanesa and I did not regret it! It was awesome. They bring you chips with a warm salsa that is oh so delicious, and they also have a great salsa bar. The only problem is deciding what salsa to get. This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat at! read more

I come here all the time and I must say the food and service is outstanding! Great authentic Mexican food and drinks. I strongly recommend this place. read more

This place is BAD !!! We came 12-06-17 around 12:50 they took forEver to come to our table #2 !! A waitress sat the table next to us ! And she saw us because she gave us the menus she didn't even bother on getting our drinks !!!!! And In a restaurant people are supposed to work as a TEAM! Something I didn't see ! We kept waiting for 8 minutes so we left no one got our drinks ! Yes it was busy but not exaggerating busy for people to walk out like this !! Waitresses need to be on top of Costumers!! read more

Move over El Taquito, this is definitely my new genuine mexican taco go to place. It looks, feels and smells clean. The service is decent and fast, and the food is genuine. The chips and salsa will slap silly any other chips and salsa you've tried, chips aren't greasy or stale and the salsa is just badass, they serve it warm and it has just the right amount of hot...think Ariana Grande. Unlike a Torchy's (those are Austin tacos), the tacos here are more simple so less is more, its Taco More (yes I just said that). read more

I went there for lunch with 2 co-workers a couple of weeks ago. Chips & salsa at the table were great. We all had the cheese chilie relleno. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to going again. The staff were friendly and helpful. read more

Cheap tacos and close by. Not mind blowing but still good, I'll definitely come back.

Best place in Austin!!!! I love tacos and only one other place competes with Taco More

We decided to try something new, since we normally frequent the same restaurants. The food was fine, it did not Wow me at all. I guess it is considered authentic by most because there is one token English speaking person in the whole place. Which is fine with me as I am of Mexican descent and understand Spanish very well and I can communicate pretty effectively. But my adult children not so much, they spoke to the waitress in English and I think she was scared off. She sent the token English speaker who seemed miffed to have to come take our order. Then we never saw another waitress again. Our food was dropped off, my order was wrong, but at this point I just dealt with it, because my family was dying of thirst as they refused to bring us refills of water. I told my children to ration their drink. I even went up to the cashier with our cups to beg for more water and she ignored me as long as she possibly could. At this point my daughter in all her infinite wisdom said, "This is why we always go to the same places and don't try new restaurants." It was so weird that as a Hispanic women I have never felt discrimination in any situation, but here I felt that they looked at my family (obvious that we are of Mexican descent) and were mad that we didn't speak Spanish as our first language. Maybe someone who is Caucasian and has a good reason in their mind not to speak Spanish might be treated better, but I would not risk it! Spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. read more

I do not recommend coming here at all. I had a really bad experience this last time i went. Our waitress was in a hurry to get us out food and drinks , then after we got our food she did not come to check up on us a single time. But aside from the bad service, their food quality has gone down so much to where it made me sick. I was vomiting all night after i ate the chicken flautas. read more

I had the most horrible experience this last time i went. Apart from the bad service, the food made me sick in the stomach . I was throwing up all night. The quality of their food and services has gone down so much. I don't recommend going here. read more

Tasty food. Great condiment bar. Servings a touch small but not a big deal. I wish they had a taco plate.

Out of the ordinary. The pastor and barbacoa tacos were not disappointing but high seats like hop burger and fancy decor better fit to the style of those 20 and thirty something dudes and partners who wear skin tight jeans And thescreens for Sporting and whatever Univision doesn't want the spanish community to ignore. come on! this is a taqueria. A little more rustic is what is the norm but that's just me. The food was not more special than any other nor elevated. It s a little pricier. On a cold Sunday it seems like the harder working contracted labor force and their families chose this place for sunday lunch and dad and his coworkers had no time to wash their jackets. I also question if the servers need to keep the chips that they serve to the customers as appetizers near the window away from the hot lamp and within reach of the fat teenage boys grabbing while waiting for the fam to be seated. read more

My husband and I really like the pozole and the goat consume here. The ceviche is very mild, and the tacos are very tasty, though lots of places do excellent tacos in Austin. For me, the reason to come is the superb stews that you won't get elsewhere, and to practice your Spanish with the waitress. read more

This restaurant has great Mexican food but I'm sorry to say that the service sucks. The servers were too busy to ask us what we were having to drink. We had to stop one of them and ask them to get our order. We noticed they did this to two other tables near us. read more

it was horrible...thats not salsa,n the fly that kept buzzing around...I got the.torta cubana it was so.gross...nvr again will I eat there...ppl just dnt know what real mexican food is read more

First and foremost the food was excellent. However the overall flow of operations is lacking. The cold table self service area has unlabeled sauces, and no pairing or description to guide the everyday user. When you enter the restaurant there is not any clear signage to direct you what to do... Take-out, dine in, or hostess stand. Very confusing. If you can get past the operations side of things and solely focus on the food..... Then this is an easy 5 star spot. read more

The Staff is not bilingual. Every question we asked, we had to repeat to someone who supposedly knew English. The chips and salsa came right away but no one could tell us if the salsa was hot or mild. No napkin or silverware till the meals came and we received 2 sets even though there were 3 of us. The young bilingual waitress' answer to every question was "I'll ask". We requested Daiquiris and were told the bartender was either coming in or had left at 1:30. It was not clear. It comes out of a machine and you add the flavor but I guess no one can use the machine except the bartender. = lost revenue. She suggested Sangria which turned out to be a soda in a bottle. They understood Corona and didnt need the bartender to serve it, or maybe they do since the second one came without a lime. didn't get everything we ordered = lost revenue . After ordering we only saw the waitress after we ate = lost revenue. The waitress also did not check on us after the food came. We requested an extra plate do we could share the meal. We flagged down another waitress yo get that. We asked for a soft taco to be substututed for a hard one, she said yes then we got a side order of soft tortillas with the hard shell one. I would have ordered dessert and one of the Sangria soda but couldn't find our waitress = lost revenue. The food was cold, tasteless and stale, A manager came over but with their limited English it made no sense to tell her about all the issues. Everyone does everything there, no one is assigned to particular tasks = mass confusion. The item we never received was on our bill after we brought it to the waitress' attention and she said she'd have it taken off. When we asked her about it she said she told the cashier who told her to "wait". This place needs restaurant rescue. read more

Corn tortillas are good. Bistek taco was inedible, as it was mainly cartilage. The limonada listed under Aguas (silly me thought it was frescas) was made from a powder. Sent the drink back for a sweet tea which unfortunately was also made from a powder. As a San Antonio transplant I can't recommend this place, it's a disappointment. read more

the most authentic mexican food i've had in austin. love this place.

Went here for the first time last night (after discovering Marisco's had been flattened - later learned they had moved). Got several tacos and a chicken fajita sope. The sope at $3 was bigger than the two $2 tacos put together. Overall, very fresh food here. All thumbs up with the service. Beautiful, friendly women for waitstaff. They're a little English challenged, but they'll send you the ones that speak English best. They must combine all tips because I think I was waited on by at least 5 different (every one pretty) ladies. They were a little short on parking given it was Saturday night and they're right next to Emo's East. But there was a fellow in the parking lot in front of the lone nearby space, protecting it for only Taco More customer use. The Pico de Gallo was Jalapeno heavy and delicious (if a little hot for me). The chips and warm salsa are splendid. Authentic Mexican here; not Tex Mex. I will definitely be back! read more
