OK, I'll admit to being hard when it comes to providing reviews, but I take pride in trying to be fair, so I need to update my previous commentary and report that I've found a way to improve my chances of getting what we ordered. Send them an email. Yes, it's that simple! They don't have someone sitting at a computer waiting for emails to arrive, so I've found that giving them a call about 5 minutes after hitting the send button and asking for confirmation that they got my email seems to have resolved almost all of our messed up order issues. AND.... they don't seem to just be leaving the phone off of the hook anymore!! Because we tend to have larger orders (the last one included 3 taco orders, a taco salad, and 4 quesadilla orders) we still need to inventory everything to make sure nothing got overlooked or counted wrong. read more

It'd been years since I visited, so here I ordered takeout Monday night. Business was hopping when I arrived to pick up my two orders! I had an amazing burrito years ago, but this time I ordered a quesadilla and choriqueso (hoooooboy). Was in the area today and saw that this place had amazing reviews and I am a fan of a good taco or burrito so I decided to try it out. Pre looked at the menu and decided on a burrito since I was going to take it to go. Great they have plenty of veggie options!! There menu has great options if you are a carnivore as well lol. I got mixed veggies, corn, some grilled jalapeños, Spanish rice and black beans. I got a few other things as well. A side of chips and guacamole. I couldn't help myself when I got in the car so I tasted the chips and guacamole. It was a good consistency but it did lack a little flavor however. The chips were fresh and they had a nice crunch and flavor to them. The salsa bar was nice however. I liked majority of them. Got home and tasted the burrito and it was wonderful!! It was full of flavor and I could taste the flavors of everything I had put in there. It was wrapped great and nothing was falling out or spilling over. Nice!!! I am a HUGE Taco Maya fan. This restaurant deserves every single 5/5 star review it can get. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I have been at least 30 times since I moved to the area a year and a half ago. Every single time it's fresh, consistent, quick, every employee is so nice. My favorite food there is the al pastor chicken... is just out of this world. The Guac is fresh, the salsa's fresh, just everything is incredible. Never even had a single piece of fat on my chicken!! It's the little things...I even FEEL good when I leave. Okay well not if I overdo it on the chips but you know what I'm getting at. A few visits ago i ordered food for myself and fiancé to go (while he was at home) and one of the employees was like wait, aren't you forgetting to add rice for him? Overall Taco Maya has pretty good food, but the customer service left much to be desired. I came during a slow time so I was surprised when the staff seemed like they didn't have enough time for the 4 customers in the place. (Me and my friends) The owner : can i take your order? Me: I'm looking for something vegetarian. Him : a quesadilla. My brain: Oh, that's creative, thanks bud. 4.8 seconds later Him: "are you ready yet" Me : no. After looking through the menu for about a minute i had to get his attention. It was an odd experience as he was super short with me, almost like I scorned him in a previous life. Anyway, the veggie tacos were tasty, my friend enjoyed her burrito and the cheese dip looked scrumptious! My friend wasn't impressed with the Chile relleno but enjoyed the steak quesadilla. Huge portions, fresh salsa. This place is great. I got the Chicken Al Pastor Burrito which comes with chips and access to their fresh salsa bar. Their salsas are superb. The burrito was very good. The chicken was tender and packed with flavor. The meal was extremely filling for $7.50. I strongly recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area. It's basically a fast food building converted into a more authentic version of Chipotle. I only give five stars if it's worth driving more than twenty minutes for. It's good, but it doesn't blow you away. Solid Mexican place with authentic flavor. I'd definitely come back if I was nearby, and you should too. read more

Taco Maya is what you would get if Chipotle served authentic Mexican food. You order at a counter starting with the type of shell, protein, and ingredients. What you get is some absolutely amazingly flavorful tacos. I ordered the soft corn shells with a variety ( chicken, chorizo, fish) and cilantro and onion. The flavors were so good. The chorizo was ground very fine and flavored so nice. The service was five stars from start to finish. read more

Ate here for the first time. New to the area. First of all, WAAAAY TOO SALTY. If that's an issue for you and your diet, it would be a non-starter. We're about 20 minutes away and got take out, so naturally, the nachos were soggy, but they were also delicious. The guacamole was delicious, but was a bit on the chunky and so salty I had one taste and was out. The thing I've learned about restaurants where the food is too salty, is that they have chefs who are heavy handed with their own salt intake and they lose perspective. Diners can always add salt, but we can't take it away. Other than that, from the take-out point of view, I think the food would be better enjoyed on site if you're comfortable with that. read more

First time. Easy five here. Lets see they have tasty fresh food, friendly service, keep it clean, and the price is right. If you run a restaurant you should visit here to see how it looks when somebody gets it right. Had a carne queso and three different tacos all were done very well and flavorful. The sauces looked and tasted scratch and the guaco was very fresh. Topped it of with some churros which were heated just right a little crunchy the way they should be. The owner/manager is on floor and checking with the customers to see if they were satisfied. How many places even care enough to do that anymore. Taco Maya never disappoints. They are always up and running with a great array of options. Everytime I come here I am in and out within 3 minutes! So fast and wayyyyy better than Chipotle - I refuse to eat there anymore. Taco Maya has my heart and I definitely recommend coming here for a great taco bowl or burrito. Based on today's experience I would give this a one star. I have been going to Taco Maya since before they moved. In the last 3 or 4 visits I have felt like the wheels are falling off. Overall, I WOULD give 3 stars, since they have been good in the past, but the past seems to be just that now. The past. I'm giving 2 stars only because I don't believe anyone will bother to read a 3 star review and I am hoping today's problem will be addressed. Whoever it was preparing tacos for my son and I today seemed to have a really poor attitude and treated us like it was the greatest inconvenience of his life to prepare 3 tacos. I understand you could be having a crap day, but all we did was come in to eat tacos. To top it off when I ate the " crunchy " tacos the shells were a little on the stale side today. It was around 3:30pm on 5/15/22. If that helps management narrow it down. I've been a long time customer, but can say I won't be coming back for a bit after today.
