And the funny thing I have to say is that finding some of the best nachos all the way in Tennessee was a total shocker! Part of it is just because they take this large sheet pan and spread the chips out over it so every chip has a topping. You're not left with a giant pile of chips that are totally naked in the middle of your pile of nachos. But I have to add to that that I got brisket nachos, the brisket was really wonderful, it was just savory and tender. The barbecue sauce is on the table were wonderful I'm just about anything. They have these great couch seating areas in the middle that were so much fun and just perfect for a family. And if you have even room for one bite, get one of their turnovers! Apple and blueberry turnovers are excellent! The cherry was not as good, but the pastry is divine. But it is super light and flaky and everything you could ask for in a baked treat.

Our waitress was knowledgeable and went above and beyond when I had menu questions about what I could have with my dairy & wheat allergies. My friend had the smoked wings which were fantastic! I tired out the vegan nachos which were a letdown. Overall the flavors were great, but it lacked in volume of tortilla chips, too many pickled red onions. They were unbalanced and messy, felt more like a weak salad than nachos. Will be checking them out again some time.

Everything about this experience was top-notch! From being seated quickly upon entering, to explaining how the ticket validation thing worked (more info at the end), customer service was some of the best I've been shown. The ambiance is chic but casual-great for both cozy date night or fun family night. Our server was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!

Highlight of the drive. For the first time, today was different. The very friendly young women who first greeted us and guided us through the menu years ago are gone. In their place are unfriendly young ladies who would far prefer to chat with each other than provide even acceptable-level service. We were tolerated, not welcomed or even checked on to see if we wanted anything. I waited and waited for her to notice me at about ten feet away as I waved my empty beer can in hopes of getting a second one. Finally I had to interrupt the conversation between the waitresses by raising my voice above their conversation, "excuse me, may I have another?" Again, we were there early today. Just before 5:00 PM. That is how timing works when you are on the road. So the place was nearly empty. They weren't busy with customers. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. As we completed our fried chicken (still very good), she came by and did not ask if we wanted anything else but simply said "ready for the check?" It was a way to make us feel like we needed to leave. To add insult to injury, we passed by the hostess table outside on our way to the car as we left and we happened to pass between two Champy's young female employees chatting at the hostess station and blocking the way out. We had to say "excuse me" and walk between then as they kept talking to each other. Never did they bother to say "thanks for coming, please come back soon." So maybe after all this time...we won't.

Right off the bat, you'll notice that some serious remodeling has been done that has given some life back to this once dated bar and grill. A few walls have been knocked down and some modern furniture has been acquired along with a multitude of large flat screen displays that are arranged more strategically than the monitors in Buffalo Wild Wings that resemble the control room from The Matrix. No kidding, I sat in a circular lounge car and could spin 360 degrees and still have a screen showing any sporting event I desired (even those obscure New Zealand LARPing tournaments) within 5 feet of my face. The bar has more drafts than anywhere in town with all the IPAs, Pilsners, Stouts, Domestics, Imports, Strong Ales, High Gravs, and Hefeweizens I've ever imagined. T-Mac prides itself on having great wings and they still are pretty fantastic and better than most places in town with a thicker, spicier buffalo sauce that has an clear edge over most competitors. The menu is pretty fleshed out as well for non-wing fans with all your typical bar items and apps you would expect from a place of this caliber but just order the wings and move on with your life. In the first 15 minutes of enjoying this place, it was hard to find any real flaws. The waiter was kind and attentive. The food service was snappy and my wings were delicious. Hell, they even turned the volume on for the game I was watching that was only airing on an English soccer channel. But after a few harmonious minutes, I began to see something unravel that started to justify all the negative reviews I had read. After ordering a beer to a young gentlemen more interested in a talented young lady through the window at Panera Bread than listening to me or even writing down a single note from all four of my party's orders, the guy disappeared for a good 20 minutes only to reappear, ask for our drink orders a second time, and apologize insincerely. That's beyond pathetic and borderline negligent for a place with so much going for it. I always try to give people in the service industry the benefit of the doubt, and to be honest, it didn't seem like the guy had much help for a packed Sunday lunch service with seating times probably at 15 minutes a table. Manning the cathedral of beer that spans a good thirty feet long, a single bartender rushed around, likely doing his best, to fulfill all of the drink orders for the entire restaurant. That's pretty outrageous and indeed asking too much of a single man with two arms and one brain. So the issue with Taco Mac likely stems from severe understaffing and a lack of training for its employees. It's a real shame that such an attractive place with all the beer and amenities you could ask for currently offers such a lousy service. Maybe I just came at a bad time or there were extenuating circumstances, but I really hope this place gets its act together and starts meeting the high standards that it's food, atmosphere, and drinks have already set. Still worth a visit. 3 out of 5 stars. read more

My boyfriend and I are from Alabama, but we travel to Chattanooga once a month. We had never stopped by a Taco Mac until today. We were impressed with the huge beer selection right off the rip, and our experience turned out to be even better than expected. The girl who greeted us also turned out to be our server. Amber was super knowledgeable about the beers on tap, asked us what kind of beer we normally go with, and even offered samples of something comparable to Sweetwater blue. She was very patient and friendly as we decided which beers to have. She also informed us of the brewniversity (beer loyalty) program and got us signed up right away. We didn't eat much, appetizers only, but the food came out very quickly. Their queso con carne may be a new favorite! If you're in the area, definitely check this place out! My friend and I decided to go grab dinner before going to see a movie and thought we would just get appetizer so it would be quick. We waited about 10 minutes to get our drinks and just watched our waitress walk around us without saying anything. We finally were able to order and sat waiting for another 25 minutes waiting on QUESO. If she would have just explained what was going on or at least checked on us it may have been a different experience. We ended up just having to leave without our getting our food because we were going to be late for the movie we had plenty of time to make before we came in here. Very frustrating experience. read more

Casual, colorful, the kind of spot where you expect someone to walk in wearing flip flops and carrying a fishing pole. Comfortable vibe. Easy place to settle in and see what the fryer can do. First up were the fried green tomatoes. They came out looking like they'd just won a beauty pageant. Crispy outside, tender inside, cooked exactly right. Texture nailed. But flavor-wise they felt like they forgot their gym bag at home. Needed salt. Needed a little personality. A rare moment where the fryer did its job but the seasoning clocked out early. Then the headliner arrived. The fried chicken at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken has a reputation to protect, and thankfully it shows up ready to work. Crisp, flavorful crust. Juicy inside. The kind of chicken that crunches just enough to make everyone at the table look over and get jealous. "If the deep fryer had a Hall of Fame, Champy's chicken is getting a first-ballot vote." And then came the move that sealed the deal. A dip into Champy sauce. Suddenly the flavor level jumped another notch. Salty, tangy, just enough punch to make the crust shine even more. The sleeper hit though? The cole slaw. Creamy, balanced, and actually refreshing next to all the fried goodness. It's the quiet kid in class who ends up acing the exam. Easy to overlook, but absolutely worth ordering. Now for the tiny curveball. I happened to land there on karaoke night. And let's just say... the speakers believed they were performing at an arena concert. Loud enough that conversation required leaning halfway across the table and reading lips. On the flip side, the crowd was clearly having a blast. A few genuinely good singers, a few that were more... enthusiastic than talented, and plenty of people cheering them on. Honestly, respect to anyone with the courage to grab a microphone in a room full of strangers. So no star deductions for that. The people who showed up to sing were having the time of their lives. Bottom line, Champy's Famous Fried Chicken is a fun place with seriously good fried chicken. Order the bird, grab the slaw, lean into the fried side of the menu, and enjoy the show if karaoke happens to be on the schedule. Just maybe bring your singing voice... or your earplugs.

Service was on point. Let's get the elephant out of the room right now - the size. lol I was prepared for a small burger from all the reviews, but, Shake Shack has a small burger, Jack-in-the-Box has a small burger. It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight and the dog. But I ain't gonna lie, that is one tiny burger! It's like...five bites? One for each corner, and then the middle. lol They might be better off coring the middle, and marketing them as hamburger donuts. The easy fix is just order an extra patty for a few bucks more. Same as Shake Shack. The other thing I have a problem with is the, "we don't do lettuce or tomato..." line. Sorry, that's like a pizza with no toppings. Really, it just sounds like they found a way to reduce overhead by not having to prep and pay for vegetables. But whatever... if great burgers can be made without lettuce and tomato, and without a big patty...let's get it on. I'm sorry, but that patty was charbroiled to the point of no juice. This is where a tomato might help with moisture. lol I don't see how this is actually Wagyu. A Wagyu burger should be melting in my mouth. I don't know what happened, but it reminded me of my first job at Burger King, running whoppers through the flame broil conveyor belt. If you got one that just came out, you scored big time. But if you got one that just sat in the warmer for 10 minutes, you got a dry burger. It was a very disappointing burger. Then again, I just had a Shake Shack burger yesterday, and it was nomnom greasy goodness. Of course I was going to be disappointed. It's like Ozzy Osbourne following up Slipknot as the opening act. The fries were great. They came in a huge basket, and the price was very reasonable.
