Despite the location and great overall ambience, this place was so disappointing. The menu was far more limited than shown in previous reviews, and there were only four beers on tap. We ordered the nachos. They came out cold, and the chicken looked gray. We let one of the bar staff know, and after confirming that the nachos (the chips looked like they were pulled from a standard bag of Tostitos) aren't supposed to come out this way, the server went back to the kitchen to rectify the situation (we appreciated it). Replacement nachos appeared. They were ever so slightly warmer, but the chicken was still gray and tepid. I don't know what's happening in the kitchen, but something has gone very wrong, and I question whether the food is being stored and/or prepared at safe temperatures. We ate some chips sans chicken, finished our drinks, and left as soon as possible. There are so many yummy places to eat in Chattanooga. Don't waste your time and money here.

    Southern Italian

Great vibe. Great service. I had the milk stout and brown ale, both were pretty good. The southern Italian was tasty but a little bit of a small portion for me. Overall, very good and I would definitely come back.

Went in for lunch and the service was great. They had several beers available to try. Food was good and came out fast. Inside was quiet and relaxed. Located in downtown Chattanooga next to our hotel the Hotel Clemons.

Beers were great! Strawberry Goza slaps. My husband had 2 different beers one that was great flavors and mouthfeel, the other one I wasn't a fan of, but he seemed to enjoy it. Brought our family here and our 9 month old flung half of my sandwich on the ground and they were beyond kind to make me a brand new sandwich, which was not at all necessary at all. The gals taking care of us were so kind and patient with our kiddos making mess. Lots of other families in here as well. Only down fall was there weren't any high chairs but understandable considering it's a brewery. Food was well executed with a balance of savory and acidity. I'd eat the pickle red onions on everything from the chicken nachos.

I ordered a salad, which was awesome! Beer was good and affordable. I miss the old location, but times change. Oh, our waitress was on the spot and very nice.

New location is great. Super convenient for the downtown business lunch and beer. In the evenings, it's a perfect spot to hangout- comfortable and easy access to games in the Hotel Clemmons lobby/lounge. The beer is good not great, and the selection is a little limited for a brewery. I'd love more sessionable beers, especially an IPA below 6%. Regardless, it's more than adequate for a bar- just not quite a "taproom.". I'd probably drop by more frequently, if not for my only complaint. I've never seen more than one bar tender to take care of the whole place. One person bartends, waits on and busses tables. It's stressful to watch and the management needs to figure out it's a dumb move. I was with a small party a few nights ago and the bartender snapped at a buzzed patron. It was a misunderstanding, but clearly fueled by a very rushed staff. I'd recommend dropping by for a lunch if they look slow, but hold off on evenings or anything potentially busy until management figures out that more than one person is needed to serve an entire restaurant.

Fried okra + a delicious beer

Solid spot for good beer & food! My husband and I stopped here halfway through a bike ride for food + drinks and we were not disappointed! We sat outside, where we were welcomed by the staff and served immediately. We ordered a couple of beers and fried okra to start - so good! Then, we decided to split the buffalo wrap with fries, which turned out to be plenty of food for the both of us. We must have sat there for two hours just enjoying the weather and ambiance. Definitely one of our new favorite breweries in Chattanooga!

A very quiet evening sitting upstairs in their "mezzanine." I enjoyed two beers and a peaceful opportunity to enjoy some background socializing and Yelp reviews before heading to my overnight parking. Inside drinking. Outside drinking. Upstairs drinking. Downstairs drinking. Because I had already had dinner, I passed on any of their delicious looking food but the beers? Five stars. [Review 18838 overall - 367 in Tennessee - 2361 of 2022.]

    Nope, patio only

Hello! Wondering if you have NFL Sunday Ticket? Looking for a place to watch our fantasy teams!

I have heard rumors that kids are not allowed in breweries in Chattanooga. Is this true? Making a trip with my one-year old and I really hate to miss out on beer just because I have him with me.

Hey, Rachel! Kids are definitely welcome at Chattanooga Brewing. No worries at all. We even have a kid's menu and crayons. Come see us.

Walking in , you could see a long bar that you could sit at or just order food at in a designated area and seat yourself around the place. We chose to set up the bar, of course. It kind of ended up being a bad idea because people had no idea about personal boundaries and being in other people's face while they're enjoying their beers and they are standing around ordering food and reaching over you. Ben and I even switch seats, because he is worried about his personal space then I am. Most of the food that was on the menu was barbecue driven but since I had just had poke, I was not hungry. The servers were very friendly when we were ordering and checked in on us often I just wish that they would have kept the line in a more orderly fashion since there was a designated area for ordering specifically.

So, as I was told by the staff, the restaurant portion has been spun off and sold from the brewery itself, so this is my first visit for food, since that has transpired. It is now known as "BUDS & BREWS CHATTANOOGA", part of a larger group out of Nashville, I was told. The bar/brewery looks the same, there is the same helpful staff, but in all honesty, the food just isn't as good. The pulled pork, was okay at best, the fried onion rings, just too greasy, and the chicken wings, just too dry. When first opened NR was the first microbrewery to prepare and offer their own food, and the bbq was stellar, but I cannot make that same statement today. Brews are still good, but if need a good microbrewery in Chattanooga that can offer you good food to go along with that cold one, my recommendation is either Oddstory or Five Wits. I'll continue to come to NR for a beer, as their Moonpie Stout is absolutely one of the best beers you can find in Chattanooga, but like I said if I am hungry too, this will no longer be one of my primary spots to consider.

Parking in their main lot is pretty tight, but we didn't have much trouble finding street parking close by. The absolute standout here is the staff; they were incredibly friendly and completely johnny on the spot with getting our drinks out. We had our dog with us and quickly learned that pets aren't allowed inside or even on the regular inside patio, but they do have a small dedicated picnic table area out to the left for people with dogs. The staff was even nice enough to bring out a water dish for him, which was a really great touch. As for the food, you definitely get a plentiful amount for what you pay. We ordered the sampler platter--which comes with a massive pretzel, three little brats on buns, and kraut balls--as well as the Jager Schnitzel with sides of potato salad and spaetzle. The pretzel platter and the spaetzle were good, and the whole place has an awesome atmosphere that makes you want to hang out. I'd still absolutely recommend checking it out, just keep an eye on a couple of the food details. Cons: The jager dressing wasn't heated up enough, causing it to congeal on top of the pork loin and throw off the flavor, so it had to be scraped off. Also, the potato salad missed the mark completely--the potatoes were vastly undercooked, giving them a raw texture, and they were a dark color instead of a normal opaque white, showing that the potatoes used were going bad. Thumbs up / Thumbs down: Thumbs up (I would still go back for the great atmosphere and service).

Pizza came quick and it was prolly one of the best pizzas I've had in a long long time. Although I can't remember the last time I was there, but pretty sure it was good then too. I will say that there was one very serious problem and we could have handled it better. You see there were 4 of us with one being our 9 yr old grandson. Pizza had 8 slices, so we each had 2.
