This is a great causal taco spot in the heart of Benson, the building is actually a renovated bank from back in the day which is pretty cool. The lighting and porch swing seats are a nice touch. The menu is fairly small and straightforward. We ordered the Co Punch/"Happy Juice" and it came in these cute juice pouches.For appetizers we ordered the chips , guac and queso. The guac was decent and the queso was a little too spicy for me. I had the beef taco with a side of rice. Overall the food was decent .Would like to try their brunch in the future. read more

Great food! Smaller menu which is fine by me. The tacos taste different than Maria's but are still delicious. I usually get chicken in all my Mexican food but absolutely love the carnitas here! Also we had the nachos this time and I don't think I can go back to tacos! They are delicious. The queso has amazing flavor. And there is enough to share with 3 people. They're huge! The drinks here are also great. Their house margarita is our go-to. Not too sweet not too sour. The Capri sun drinks are too sweet for our liking but we have had the llama bowl pineapple marg and it was delightful too. Has a great patio outside. Only criticism is the music is usually pretty loud which makes conversation difficult. Would not keep me from coming back though! read more

First time experience with Taco Co. They come very highly recommended for puffy tacos and cocktails. I called in a $200 catering order when they opened at 4 pm, for 5:45 pickup. We arrived at 5:45 and got our food in waves. One bag and a box at 5:57. Another box a few minutes later. Got the final bag at 6:06. So not only was our order 21 minutes late, but the food was staggered so it wasn't all the same temp when we got it home. The reasoning given to us was "a lot of people ordering tacos!". The food was good, but for the price and given the service on this visit (no offer for a discount due to lateness or a coupon for future order), won't chance it here again for a long time. read more

Taco co has such a fun vibe to it. It's the perfect place for happy hour after work. They have some fun drinks and yummy margs. The one thing that made me sad was the food. I'm the world's biggest Maria's fan, so when I heard they were going to have the puffy tacos, i thought they'd taste the same. Unfortunately there is not any flavor in the tacos, so that was a bummer. It would also be nice to have a few more food options. We were here on opening night and have been back several times since! The atmosphere is great and the staff here are consistently great. We kind of thought our first time was a fluke, but have been well taken care of each time we go back. The drinks are awesome and you may want to check out a piñata if you're out for a good time! I'm a frequent eater at Maria's so I expected the same quality of taco co. (For those unaware they use the same recipe so to speak at Maria's as they do here) The only thing on the menu is Appetizers; chips and dip, and of course the tacos. We got the queso, it didn't take like any queso I've had, it did not have a lot of cheese taste. On to the tacos, arguably the most important part. These tacos tasted absolutely nothing like Maria's. Not even close. Which is surprising considering they brag about it on the menu. They only looked similar. I didn't even finish my tacos, I was very disappointed. The service was phenomenal, and the drinks were good, we got the juice boxes and the Piñata to all share. I can't say I will come back for the food, however, they were decent enough quality for a newcomer. I would make the trip to Ralston to the original Maria's restaurant if you want the original experience. read more

Taco Co is a super cute new taco place with really fun Capri Sun like pouches for some of their drinks. They are a very insta worthy spot. A few reasons I gave them four stars. First, they have a taco box where you can order 12 tacos but they won't let you pick what the tacos are. Also, my husband drink pouch was filled with ice, it lasted him like two minutes. I thought that the tacos were really good though. I think it's a fun spot that is worth checking out. read more

The worst wtf moment I've had at a restaurant.. Friday 4/15 show up at 3:57, "sorry we cannot seat you until 4:00".. Fine we walk out and wait 3 minutes.. upon entry they try to seat up at the only table with sun glare and I ask for a different table.. the managers response was sorry we do t have a server available for any other tables... wtf the restaurant was empty.. awful customer service and down right rude manager.. read more

Taco Co has an amazing interior and pretty good food. The tacos run around $4 but are very filling and tasty, as the drinks are everything you could want from an adult Capri sun pouch! Loved the remodel of an old bank building, views of the inside & outside of the vaults, and the swings were a fun touch. Watch out for the "step up", as I stumbled, and watched someone else trip & face plant on the floor. Maybe a little more lighting & hostess warning would be helpful. The puffy taco shells were just as good as Maria's, however the insides had a different spicy kick, with an overload of salt. The nachos used the same spicy, salty meat mixture. Would hope they will consider reducing the salt use. I'll probably wait a few months before giving it another try for this reason. All in all, it's a fun, upscale taco joint. Hadn't been in Benson for years , this place has made me come back twice in the last month. I love a good Puffy Taco and they are San Antonio (the city famous for them ) quality. Also not sure you can get a better margarita in Omaha. The only downfall on this place is small patio , if it was bigger I would be down weekly. read more

I want to start on a high note and say the puffy tacos are delicious. The drinks were pretty sugary but large enough that you'd probably only order one anyways. As far as the service. It is lacking badly! My group of 7 waited a little over an hour for a table which is completely understandable. Once sat we ordered drinks apps and dinner all at once as we have time to look over menus prior. Our drinks took about 20 minutes and same with the dips. Once again understandable. What was not understandable was about 15 after closing we were asked to leave by the manager as they were closed. Unfortunately we had not received our food and it had been almost 1.5 hours of waiting. We let the manager know this and she stated "you've only been waiting for 30 minutes for your food. It was rang in a 8:45." This was a shock as our order was taken over an hour prior to it being rang in. Instead of apologizing and making it right, she argued and stated we shouldn't have ordered 15 minutes before closing (we definitely didn't). Neither the server nor the manager apologized or even acknowledged the mistake. Left very disappointed. read more

The food was delicious. The tacos are wonderful & fluffy and the way they are shaped you barely lose any of the delicious insides. I would recommend the carnitas. The margaritas are very good, I also ordered a Sangria. The Sangria was really good & it comes with a popsicle inside which gives it a great presentation, but realistically takes up so much room in the glass you barely get any alcohol for the $9 you pay, so I probably wouldn't order it again. Unless they infuse the popsicle with alcohol. :) The service was OK. We were seated in about 20 minutes at 7pm on a Friday night (2 of us). However, our server didn't check up on us much so my husband ended up walking up to the bar to ask for silverware, a minor inconvenience. The only true "complaint" I have is that there should be a warning on the menu about how spicey the queso is. I can usually deal with things that are mildly spicey but one bite of the queso required me to drink two full glasses of water & a margarita before my mouth felt OK. The rice is also quite spicey but not as bad as the queso. I will probably not order the queso again. read more

Taco Co is the perfect addition to Benson. The menu, as others have noted, is simple but we'll executed. We started with house made chips and guacamole. The chips we're amazing and the guac while creamy and tasty, didn't stand out as much as the chips and tacos. The puffy tacos are chewy without being greasy and the ground beef was well seasoned. The best part, at least for my wife, was the alcohol filled pouch masquerading as "punch". While a little sweet for my tastes, looking around the restaurant you could see that they were a hit. I'll be back to enjoy tacos and a margarita on the deck once the weather warms up. read more

The menu is very small, it is strictly a taco place. The service was very friendly and prompt. It did seem like the employees were tip fighting a little bit lol. The tacos here are very yummy though. The rice was a little salty for me but it could have just been the batch I had that night, hard to say. The only reason I give a four star instead of five is because the first cocktail I had was a strawberry jalapeno lemonade. It was awful!! I can honestly say this was the worst cocktail I have ever had. My friend and I could not even finish them we both disliked them so much. Literally same lowkey chalupas from Taco Bell.... this place is nothing but a gimic it's not good and there drinks are okay but a basic gimic however the tacos are terrible like some of the worst I've ever had however the nachos we had as an appetizer were the only good thing I had during my visit. Also the female manager that was there was extremely rude to our table it was just closing time and we had just paid and she came to us and clapped her hands it us and said we're closing now you gotta go. Puffy taco haven. The tacos are HUGE! The shells are like crispy-soft, thin puffy pitas and they are stuffed to the brim. We had the carnitas, chicken and beef. The meat was all on the dry side but the cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on top helped. The salsas were good and spicy. This space is gorgeous - what amazing lighting and tiles. Um, well the restaurant looks nice, decor is on point. Had a vodka soda ($1.00 extra for slice of orange) and cucumber martini. Had menus on QR code, good for most. Sat on the patio - nice view of the alley. Shook like crazy when anyone walked on it. Had the chips and salsa, queso and guac flight for $15.00. Guac was maybe the worst I've ever had, everything else was fine but nothing special. Bill was $33.45 plus tip for those three items. Certainly not worth it, won't be going back. read more
