Love this place. The food and drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is really cool. I will say every time I've gone the staff have not been very attentive/odd. Last time we went was later on a weekday night. Our group of four asked if we could sit in the hanging bench seats. We were told no because they have to save those for large parties....we were literally the only ones there and one party of two came in during the 1.5 hours we were there. Aside from the service, we will be back for the food!! read more

Atmosphere was cool. It had Mexican colors mixed throughout. They had awesome porch swings inside for seating which was different. The patio was perfect for a nice evening with the friends. It was well lit, casual, and had a few outdoor games. The food was good. I wasn't expecting puffy tacos. It was filled full too! The chips are better served warm; once they cool down it gets a bit too hard. Drinks were way to sweet for my liking. I had a punch (of course that's sweet) and a margarita. The margarita was different, not my favorite. Next time I'll stick to beer and liquor. Overall I loved the look of the place. The food was solid. read more

LOVED Taco Co. From the fun beachy vibe inside including several swinging benches (think porch swings only indoors) to creative cocktails, some served in what appears to be oversized Capri Sun coolers with bright twisty straws, Taco Co is sure to liven up your night. The menu is very small, but I mean that in the best way possible. Your choices are basically tacos or a taco box, but a couple of sides and apps are also available. The puffy shell is something I hadn't experienced before and I loved it. We also sampled the guac, pico and queso and chips. Again, all had a great flavor. We will definitely be back. read more

The guacamole is top notch and the nachos are out of this world at this bustling Mexican food destination! It's a Mexican joint that Benson has been longing for. The atmosphere is classic Benson; an old bank (with vaults still intact) converted to a restaurant. How cool is that?? Plus, it's family friendly. Service is swift and the drink variety is on point. I am partial to the Palomas. House margaritas are also much better than your normal house margarita at other places. And they have a wide variety of cervezas (of course)! Would I come back here? Absolutely! And I'm sure you will as well. Really enjoyed it and I'm sure it will be great again! read more

Once you've had a puffy taco here, you'll start to crave them. They're simple, reasonably priced and delicious. In fact, that's a good way to describe the entire menu at Taco Co. It's brief with no filler, perfect for the transient Benson crowd seeking a bite/drink before heading elsewhere. The drink menu is similar, but offers enough to draw any Bensonite in for some libations, especially if you're into potent margaritas and refreshing Mexican lagers. The interior is modern and inviting. During warmer months, opt for a spot on one of Omaha's better patios out back. I'd love to see them open for lunch during the week as well as a happy hour that rivals sibling establishment Mula. No matter what, I'll be back real soon for a puffy taco or two. read more

Taco Co. offers a satisfying experience. The food is good, and their margaritas hit the spot. While it's not the most authentic Mexican cuisine, the atmosphere is really enjoyable. The fun decor and porch swings as seats create a unique vibe that adds to the overall experience. read more

Taco Co is a cool place with a great patio and great atmosphere. But unfortunately the food is very mediocre. I ordered guacamole and pork taco and didn't enjoy them. The taco was heavy abd not tasty at all and the guacamole tasted stale , like it wasn't freshly prepared or so. I was very disappointed with the food. But I would give it another try. read more

This is a great place to go with a group for a night out! On my first visit here we ordered a taco box with a mix of flavors. The fillings in those tacos were honestly very dry and disappointing. Very filling though-- these are maybe twice the size of your regular taco. The drinks are fun and very strong. We had to try the Capri sun drinks but they weren't my favorite. I came back a second time and had one of their specials for the night, which was a shrimp taco. It was fantastic! So moist and flavorful, especially compared to the regular tacos I had on my previous visit. Not my favorite place food-wise, but this a good spot for a larger group. The environment in the restaurant is casual and fun-- much more like a bar than a restaurant. read more

Have you ever been so eager to check out a new restaurants reviews that you kept refreshing yelp to see if someone would post something before you had a chance to make it out there yourself? Well, that was literally me. Today I finally had the chance to check out this beautiful establishment & I was very impressed. The decor walking in was so dope. I asked to be seated outside & the patio was gorgeous with plenty of seating. Ordered the nachos & I devoured them. The guac was ok, I've had better but that doesn't mean I wouldn't order it again, it seemed like it was freshly made. Had the veggie taco & it was a delight & the drinks were all fabulous. I went at 5pm and I was a little disappointed that I didn't see anything about a Happy Hour menu, maybe I missed it? Or maybe they don't have one... Hoping they get one rolling soon Can't wait to go back! Plus, all of the staff was super attentive. Check this place out! read more

Hoppy taco! Hip and busy and an interesting take on street tacos and a bar scene to go with it. When we dropped by it was a Friday night and quite the scene, definitely hopping. Would suggest getting a reservation if going during peak hours. We ended up hanging out back on the patio. They have a n interesting assortment of cocktail drinks think Capri sun but adult mai tai cocktail.. even comes in one of those disposable plastic bags. They also have a large punch bowl plenty for a group of 3 or 4. Overall we liked the place but one of the wait staff seemed a little too eager to give us our check when we were outside hanging out and deciding whether we still wanted to drink or not, given the lax environment out back, definitely don't see why the rush in waitstaff. read more

First time here and WOW! COVID-19 friendly, our server was awesome, and this place was amazing. My first time here and will NOT be my last! Everything was decent price. The piñata was $24 and served all 5 of us at the table well. The Margarita was $8 plus $1 infusion of jalapeño. I enjoyed the margarita because the jalapeño flavor was hot. The pouches were good, but very very sweet. Shared the nachos with the table and SO good!!! Must get!!! Overall, very nice location and gives a big city feel to it with high ceilings and nice lights. Benson, this is a good one! read more

What a fun place! We did a girls night dinner here and the atmosphere was perfect. Our waitress was so good and so busy! She kept up on our drink orders and was so up beat. I got a regular house margarita and then had a flavored one. Both were great! I decided to go with a taco bowl because and it was so good! I recommend adding the cheese and sour cream to it. We went as a group of 5. I have to say I love the atmosphere. The basket lights are gorgeous. I was concerned about seating but the wait was just 15 minutes. They do have cocktails for the wait. Husband had traditional margaritas and I had a tequila punch served in a pouch for $10! 3/4 filled with ice- not worth it! We ordered the nachos that come with everything you can think of! And they were hot! 1 out of 5 people ate them. I wish I had known about the chips and dip that our neighbors had! Looked much better! The 5 of us split a box of tacos for $40. Loved the tacos! The chicken was the best. If we eat the again. We will pick up tacos to go. The cost is not worth the cocktails and extras read more

Super disappointed and won't come here again. We stopped in tonight at 8:10, we were right behind 2 girls who immediately got sat. We greeted the host and let her know it was us 2 - she told us it was an hour and 45 minute wait.. and "by that time we'll almost be closed so..." there was no one else waiting.. we looked around and saw 3-5 empty tables.. I know servers have sections but for a Saturday night at 8:10, being told you can't be seated at a restaurant that's open til 10? That made zero sense. The host was nothing but rude. Especially as we watched the two people in front of us walk in and immediately be sat. We live in benson so we often walk to these places and know it gets busy on the weekend, except it wasn't that busy, and I have never been treated this poorly at any of the restaurants down here. Super bummed and I won't be back. read more

I really liked the puffy tacos. We tried all three meat types in out taco basket for four people. That means 3 tacos each, which was a lot of food, especially on top of the chips and guacamole we ordered. I think the guacamole could have used more salt, and there are no salt shakers on the table, at least not at the one we were seated at. The margaritas were excellent, especially the summer drink offering Cucumber Margarita! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.... the struggle is real... read more

Food really good. Quirky fun place for a little bit of fun and food margaritas were ok too

We are in Omaha to go to the zoo and I read on here that this place was fun. I'll start with the good: friendly staff, fun environment, the drinks looked tasty (im pregnant so I can't have one and my husband decided not to) The bad: there is NOT a changing table in the women's bathroom (unless I completely and utterly missed it) so I had to change my toddlers diaper with him standing up. The reviews said "kid friendly" and I would agree to an extent - the fun environment. There was no toddler friendly food (he's 1.5 yo and can't eat a taco without getting it ALL over himself and the floor- I guess I didn't realize that was literally ALL they had. The food was nothing special, at all. This is not a place we would come back to. read more

I had seen dozens of Snapchats and Instagram posts of Taco Co's tacos and drinks, so I wanted to check it out for myself. We quickly noticed that the menu was very small. They pretty much only had a few types of tacos, and I didn't think the tacos were anything special. They were way overpriced and didn't have very much flavor. At an authentic Mexican restaurant, you could get 3 tacos that taste much better for the price of one taco from Taco Co. The drinks, on the other hand, were delicious. They had a few types of drinks, though margaritas were the most abundant (obviously). They are served in large adult juice boxes, which was very fun! I did think the drinks were also overpriced, but at least they were strong and delicious. All in all, I'd say that Taco Co is a very good place to get drinks, but you should go somewhere else go get tacos. read more

So, visiting Omaha for a wedding, staying at an Air BnB, and found this place just because it was close. Looked ok, nothing special, but it turned out to be amazing. The wife and I got four tacos (two each), chips and guacamole, side of rice, and the churros. Shrimp taco, chicken taco, and 2 carnitas tacos were absolutely to die for. They have a "puffy" shell which looks like a flash fried flour tortilla, and have more than ample amounts of filling from the chosen meat to the cabbage/lettuce and sauce and cheese. They are bigger than they look in pictures. The chips are made in house, thick and crispy, and the guacamole is smooth with the right amount of spice to it. The rice is the only non-spectacular part, but holds its own against other Mexican rices I've had. Last, the churros: just get em, you'll love em. Crispy outside, soft inside, not overly coated, just perfect everything. And you get SO MANY of them. Highly recommend, 5/5, 10/10, whatever scale you want. read more

Food is always amazing as is service. I enjoy that the menu is small and concise and the puffy tacos are amazing. Pro tip: we get a bowl of pinwheels (that come in the chips) instead of the chips for dipping in queso... worth the $1 up charge. read more

Cucumber jalapeño Margarita will change your life. Tacos and service are great. A good selection of tequilas

Disappointed. I had called days in advance to make a reservation for a group of 15. They said they don't take reservations, but if we came and put our name in we should be able to get seated in the next 30-45 minutes. So I told her that's what we'll do. My party showed up and was told we could only sit outside. And not inside. It was 100° and my two 80+ year old grandmas were with us. We went outside and started moving a couple tables together. The gal came out and scolded us as she started taking the tables apart and telling us we had to sit at separate tables. So my group ended up sitting at opposite sides of the deck. Two of the tables were done eating before the other two tables even got their food. This was for my sister's bachelorette party. If I knew that this is the service we would receive, we would've never come. read more

Finally got around to trying this place and I'm mad it took me so long! I was not quite sure what to expect as I have never had fry bread tacos, but these were delicious. We started our meal with their chips and queso which was some of the best queso I have had in Omaha. I also appreciate the water for the table (served in a tequila bottle-cute!) The water cups changed color which I'm sure assists the staff for knowing when refills are needed, but was also just a fun touch to the table. Next I ordered 2 tacos for my entree and shared a side of rice with my boyfriend. The side was plenty for us to have with our tacos which were ginormous. The tacos were all filled generously with our selection of fillings. I was not able to finish both as there was so much food! Definitely would recommend if you are craving tacos and looking for something a little different than the traditional variety. read more

It's simple. basically you want some puffy tacos or nachos, but in a fun, hip atmosphere. So hip if you're the lucky few, you may land a spot at the tables with the swinging seats! Also so hip that it was placed in an old historic bank in Benson where you can view the original vault. They also have outdoor seating which is a plus for the one week of spring and one week of autumn that we have in lovely Omaha! ;) If I did have to choose between the tacos or nachos, I'd probably go nachos, but maybe it's b/c I got the veggie taco. Or maybe I'm just a loyal fan of the california taco when it comes to the puffy ones. I did appreciate that the chicken was the shredded kind, where some places grill and dice them. We also noticed this seems to be the spot that the young hip benson families are coming to have a family friendly meal. Service is also on point! read more

Heard a lot and decided to try this place for the first time with my husband along with my cousin who had been there previously. Walking in I was taken away by the decor and atmosphere. I love the hanging swings and the lamps above the dining area. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Now the food. We first ordered the queso dip but before that arrived I got one of their adult juice boxes. The lemonade with jalapeño. I really enjoyed this drink for 8 bucks it was pretty big and lasted a long time. This is a really fun element and I loved it. When the queso dip arrived we were starving and it did not disappoint. We added beef for $3 more. The sauce had a great flavor and a little kick of spice. The chips served with it were excellent. My only complaint is that for $9 queso it was pretty small. I feel that if we are paying that much it should be a little bigger of a portion. Our tacos arrived about 20 minutes after we devoured the queso. The carnitas Taco was really well seasoned the meat reminded me of eating carnitas at my in-laws or an authentic restaurant. The masa is a bit thick but overall good. I wish I would hAve tried the chicken taco because having beef in a taco really didn't do it for me but they were both good. The salsa they serve with the tacos is delicious and spicy good balance. Overall there is a presence of authentic and Americanized flavors. I would come back! read more
