Awesome food and drinks here. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Prices were fair and food was made quickly. Definitely would come back if in this area again.

One of the drink menus. Lots of great options

We ordered the birria tacos and chorizo tacos. Good portions and flavors for the three taco set. Our bartender/server made all the difference, Tony, with 11 years experience and knowledge of the drinks he made for us. Such a decorative and fun vibe during the day and night time for bar hopping in Ansonia, CT.

If you guys are looking for authentic birria tacos, look no further! 10/10! And the sauce is like the icing on the cake. Also, ask for their signature sauce/salsa for their chips! So delicious

We've been wanting to try Taco Central for some time but every time we drive by it's been so busy. We made plans able to stop, since we'd in be the neighborhood today and damn we're glad we did! It was late afternoon so the lunch crowd was gone. Needless to say our whole experience was great from beginning to end. The Owner waited on us and he was wonderful and made us feel like la familia. The coconut mojitos were on the money!! It was the best I'd ever had as was the mango margarita, we ordered smalls as the large was humongous. The food was delicious and portions were huge! I'm mad I didn't order dessert but we were sooo full. Whoo hoo we discovered my new Favorite place! It's a breath of fresh air and a wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant!

To begin , happy one year anniversary to this establishment. The food here is incredible, however, y'all have A LOT to work on in regards to what is happening Internally. I would describe it as a HOT MESS. I've dined at taco central a total of 4 times and ordered take out 3 times. Obviously as I mentioned, I keep coming back because the food is delicious. From now on I will no longer be dining in. The workers seem absolutely miserable. There are new employees every other week and they never seem to have training on the menu items. The presumed owner himself has no idea about his items as well. Every single time we ate there I have witnessed the waiters or waitresses arguing with their managers. On one occasion, My brother in law had ordered Birria tacos, they food came immediately and we were very surprised. However, the tacos was not for my brother in law it was for the table across from us. The manager/owner takes the tacos after they sat at our table for about 5 mins ( my bro in law was waiting for my tacos to come out) and places them at the table across from us. Obviously myself and the other customers looked at each other astonished because that should never occur at any restaurant, she asked him to take it back ! He should have either left it with us or tossed them. I'm pretty sure he brought back the same tacos later on. He proceeded to also reprimand the worker who bought us a tacos in front of everyone.

Hell yes! Finally a good Latin option in the valley! Riquísimo! Our first trip was a delight. We tried Tacos Al Pastor, Tacos Birrias, and a tostada. The tacos are beastly. VERY filling and totally loaded. Two tacos will be enough to satisfy most (I had 4 and walked away completely stuffed) The tostada was stuffed to the max with the perfect amount of everything. The frijoles, wow. These are excellent authentic flavors and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Rice was a rehash of old rice, with some of it being hard. Relleno was cold in the middle.

We had lunch here today as our first visit. We were their only customers but service was slow. We ordered "medium" margaritas but they were average-sized and they were all ice. The mix they use is very sweet and there was very little alcohol in the drinks. They essentially don't have wine. The waitress served us all they had, which was a Pinot Grigio which was bad. Really bad. The guacamole had a strange taste. It was not lime or lemon. It made the guacamole much too tart and acidic. It was also too salty. The black beans were so salty. My chile relleno was greasy and it never got hot enough in the middle to melt the cheese. Everything was lukewarm, greasy or over-salted. The salsas were strange. One seemed to have cream in it. Another salsa was pretty hot but the flavor was poor. The barely warm rice had hard kernels of old rice mixed in with bland, plain rice with red color but no flavor). There was a rock hard kernel of rice in with my chile relleno. We had guacamole, a Tuesday "taco special" dish of greasy, bland ground beef, and a chile relleno plate and drinks. The bill was $90 something. They charged us $7 for the bad wine! They charged us a 15% "service charge". I saw nothing anywhere that said they were going to charge us a service charge or charges for alcohol, AND they still listed suggested tip amounts on our bill... The waitress took a long time to process our credit card. Another revue mentioned the same issue. I gave her a $10 tip (because of the 15% service charge) and the total bill was over $110! They had sounds from two different sources, that made for annoying racket. The waitress made no effort to clear the table at any time and it was very odd that she kept giving me my wife's drinks. She asked if everything was okay about when we were finished. Again, we were the only customers! Very disappointed in the meal quality and service. I know Mexican food and the quality was way off.

Restaurant was empty, service was slow, music was load rap with many curse words including a lot of f bombs and the n word over and over, already ordered and was seated before the rap started. Had a child with me very inappropriate. Now on to the food-- chips were stale, I mean stale. Salsa was good, my torta was tasty, steak cooked well and guacamole was tasty. My sons burrito was ok a lot of rice very little meat. Without the music, stale chips and ambiance, it would of received more stars. In town and wanted to give local business support.

Came here with some friends for dinner and drinks. The vibe in this restaurant was awesome. It was a Friday night and they had live music which was nice. The staff was great, very attentive and worked like a team! The salsa for the chips was so yummy, I asked for the recipe even tho I knew I'd get a no haha . The quac was yummy too! The quesadillas were ok, could had more steak and cheese inside. We really enjoyed ourselves, I definitely will be back.

    Strawberry Margharita and tacos.

Food was good. Service and friendlyness good. The salsa was fresh. I felt I got ripped off on the Margaritas. They charged me $22 for a Med Strawberry Margarita. Unfortunately I found this out after ordering 2 when I got my check. You can imagen I was shocked.

After a day on the lake we were looking for a bite to eat. Found this place down the street from my favorite sushi spot, KOI. It was such a nice night out so we sat in the outside dining area. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Lots of food & drink options. We got spicy mango margaritas which were perfect! For our meals we got the shrimp ceviche tostada with rice and beans and the chicken milanese torta! 10/10

Excellent service. Cute ambiance and the most delicious Burria Fajita quesadillas I ever had. ( ask for the consommé) I also had the homemade guacamole and chips and a spicy margarita! We will most certainly be back and I'm telling every one about this place because I like to support small businesses and this guy deserves it. He must have come over 5/6 times to make sure we had everything we needed.

Great service. Chips were homemade. Salsa delicious. Quesadillas were so large. And tasty.

This was my first time here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's a cute little dive bar tucked into the hillside. The parking situation wasn't great, but we found a small lot nearby, so it worked out perfectly. We were greeted right away and sat at the bar. I was surprised there was just a menu for the wings just two full pages--everything sounded so good that choosing was the hardest part. We ended up ordering three different flavors (six wings each). Caramel Soy (my pick): I knew this was going to hit, and it absolutely did. If you've ever had Korean fried chicken with a soy glaze, it had a very similar flavor profile:savory, slightly sweet, super addictive. The best part? It came with a fluffy dipping sauce. So fun. The wings were crispy and tender, easily my favorite of the night. Hot Garlic Butter (my girlfriend's pick): This one leaned more toward a classic buffalo-style sauce. Delicious, with chunks of garlic throughout. Not the most adventurous flavor, but exactly what we needed for a little spice. These wings were more heavily coated, so the skin wasn't quite as crispy, but the flavor held up. Solid 8-9/10. Cilantro Lime Tahini (our mutual pick): A bit out there for wings. I liked the flavor, but it felt better suited for a salad than chicken. Definitely our least favorite, but still not bad. 6.5/10. Overall, we'll be back--I want to try all the flavors!

I thought the parmesan butter bacon garlic sauce would be more of a sauce, but it ended up being more of a spread. Still a solid burger, just different than what I had in mind. For wings, I got the peanut butter and jelly wings, which were served with fluff, and they were so good and so unique. Definitely something I've never had before and absolutely worth trying. My boyfriend ordered the blue cheesy bacon wings, which were good, although they seemed to have no bacon. He also tried the classic hot wings, which were solid as well. I really enjoyed the laid-back vibe here and would definitely come back to try more of their crazy wing flavors -- there are just so many to choose from.

Bummer, as drove 20 minutes in terrible winter weather. I happened to notice the sign Retro next door. On a whim, I googled it. Great reviews. We decided to give them a try. Oh my goodness, the 4.9 out of 5 didn't lie. Out of 5, we give them a 7. Super cute, uber clean was our initial impression. Emily was behind the bar and quickly welcomed us in. We were their first customers as it had just opened. We told her about Taco Central being closed, no idea why and that this was our first time in. She was so friendly and explained pretty much everything about Retro, from it being family owned and run to what makes it special with recommendations and customer favorites. Her Dad is the owner, Gary and we quickly met him. He shared some history of the area, his background and really made us feel special, but what is special is the crazy delicious pizza we enjoyed. Probably the best pie we have had in the NE. Which is saying a lot. It's New Haven style pizza at its absolute finest. The dough, the crust, the San Marzano sauce (to die for), coupled with the cheese, and toppings. We built our own. Sausage (which he makes himself), black olives, mushrooms, hot oil, jalapeños omg!!!! The pie was so delicious. A tip, when your pizza comes out, let it sit a minute or two before grabbing a slice to let it jive together. They offer oregano, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan cheese to add. It's not needed but was so appreciated. They have apx 3 TVs to catch a game as well as tables. The ambiance is casual, retro and fun. Great date night, family friendly and welcoming. There truly wasn't one thing missing. Plus, they offer great wine choices in six or nine ounce pours at reasonable prices. But unlike so many restaurants, they have lovely long stemmed wine glasses. Great selection of beer, including local craft beers on tap and full bar. Go with complete confidence. I don't know if they have parking behind the restaurant as we parked directly in front street side.
