Go elsewhere. First, how can you be out of beans? That's bad management. Second, the cashier loses her train of thought when someone talks while she's doing something. Third, they dont know how to use the reward system. I can't believe their scanner doesn't work and the don't know how to do the rewards without the scanner. They had to figure it out. I recently took my son and grandma to Taco Cabana. We only used the drive-thru so I'm not sure how it is inside for dine in. Everything mostly went smoothly. I had to repeat my order two or three times but it wasn't a big deal. They were really busy inside and at the drive thru. The parking lot was pretty full. We went at around 5 pm on a Thursday. The food seemed like it was fresh and made to order. All of the orders were correct. I got three orders. My son only wanted chicken flautas. I got the beef fajita tacos with rice and beans. It also came with a side of lettuce and guacamole and...tortillas! I also got a Diet Dr. Pepper and my son got a regular Dr. Pepper. I couldn't eat all of this so my dog helped me out. He enjoyed it too. My son had a couple of tortillas and he liked them. My grandma didn't order anything. I got the chicken fajita tacos for my bf, also with rice and beans. He liked his order. The service was pretty good and I didn't have to wait that long for it. I would go back to this Taco Cabana if I'm in the area. I've usually gone to the Taco Cabanas off Shadow Mountain, on Lee Trevino and by Bassett/Geronimo. I think this location is a lot better than those other locations I mentioned. Why? Because the others typically mess up my orders, they're dirty and/or disorganized. If I had to pick from those four, I would choose this one right here on Joe Battle. Oh and I forgot to mention...the margaritas are $2 each. They're kind of too sweet for me but for that price! They have a variety of flavors and they change the menu every once in awhile. We went through the drive thru and surprisingly there weren't any cars in front of us. We placed our orders. One order of the six flautas with queso and sour cream on the side and an order of three steak tacos. We were told to pull up to the first window and so we did. Our total was about $12 and we paid as soon as we drove up to the window. He told us it would be a few minutes and so we waited. The line behind us was long at this point as we waited about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. So if your in a rush, don't come thinking that you will be in and out of the drive thru! We got home and my flautas were delicious. The queso in my opinion though tasted like it was diet cheese (yuck) and the sour cream, well it was just regular sour cream. My husband did not like his tacos as his tortillas were chewy and obvious that they had been microwaved. We will maybe be back but definitely not on a day where we are in a hurry! read more

My Mother in law got hungry and we were at the Target so I went to the drive thru (since it right around the corner in the same parking lot which is very convenient), so I ordered the #2 for her. It came with a huge Medium drink, should of asked for small but it's a meal, she had two chicken soft tacos chips and cheese. She enjoyed her meal very much. The chicken was tender. I ordered #4 two beef soft tacos with chips and cheese dip. The drinks were so flavorful they were sweet and carbonated just like you expect. Perfect to go with the heat. For me the steak was very tender the only downside it was a lil salty for my taste the veggies and salsa helped even it out- however they were very quick, for it being lunch time, they're reasonably priced and tasted good for it to be fast food. We go here on occasion and have not been disappointed. The meals are reasonably priced and the service is ok although slow at times. My issue is with cleanliness. The tables are usually dirty and we are the ones who have to clean them. The bathrooms are only marginally and need to be cleaned more frequently. Also, the floors are dirty and should be cleaned more often. read more

I've had the breakfast tacos before and they're always good so I assumed the same quality for lunch. Not so much. I walked in and my little one started to yell about a bug. So I killed the roach, then told the girl at the counter I killed a roach and it didn't faze her at all. I guess this is the norm?? Then, $30 later, we get two plates and a quesadilla. They never asked us if we wanted red or green enchilada sauce. Guess they don't have green. My enchilada was cold but my husband's were warm. The salsa bar is much smaller than Taco Tote and what they had were only so-so. My beef taco was saturated with grease and reminded me of what you got in the elementary school cafeteria. It fell apart. Luckily they provided tortillas so I was able to rebuild it with mediocre salsa. While the food was great the atmosphere was not. There was a freelance entertainer providing balloons. He went to every other family in there who had kids and didn't have kids and gave them balloons. These families did not pay him to receive balloons. We watched one individual give him the balloon back as they left, one family give a couple dollars as they left, one give him $ when he provided a balloons,and a family who gave no money. As we sat there he never came to ask or provide our kids a balloon. We were there before some of these families. He wouldn't even look our way and we were sitting across from him. Stopped by and ordered the steak fajita plate which comes with two tacos,rice and beans. I was looking forward to my meal until I opened my styrofoam box and noticed that my soft tacos were hard and stale and my rice was crunchy. The only thing I enjoyed were the beans and half of them had spilled into the rice. The employees were very friendly and I received my food quickly. So, I'm new to the El Paso area and had never eaten or heard of Taco Cabana. My sister and I decided to give it a try. Walking in, it didn't appear to be too crowded. We ordered the nachos and the chicken tacos and it took 20+ minutes to come out. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or what but I have never waited that long for fast food. The tables were pretty dirty, I noticed a guy going around and bussing them. Problem was it was the same guy who was bringing the food to the tables. He never washed his hands and I watched him go straight from the garbage can and dirty dishes to pick up people's food. I'm far from a germaphobe but this was beyond disturbing to me. This cabana location sucks. People are rude don't know what they are doing and treat people like crap. Is a newer location would think would be kept up. I went in for a special that was advertised on a huge banner on the roof of the building. I get told the price and I said no I want the special on the banner. Oh that is over. I only gave one star because you cannot give zero. Ordered and paid on-line. Waited in the drive-through lane only to be told on the intercom that pick-up orders must be picked up in-store. I explained I wasn't properly dressed and had on only socks. She said too bad, store policy. The line was long, Sunday at lunchtime, and there is not a way to get out of line. I waited 25 minutes, got to the window and they refused to walk over to pick-up area for me insisting that I had to do it. I was not going to drive home and come back; my food was already 30 minutes past ready time. They said I could only cancel on-line which is a lie. I spent $18.02 to wait in line for 30 minutes and then drove over to Whataburger. Expensive Sunday meal. Taco Cabana basically stole money from me. read more

Food was ok. I would consider this 1 step up from Taco Bell. Better meat and fresh salsa but the cheese sauce and chips don't appear fresh.

I love taco cabana never had a problem with it. I usually get a margarita cheap during happy hour and the staff is always friendly. The food is great I tried steak fajita tacos and flautas are so good with cheese. Some nights they have karaoke it's nice to sit outdoors too and listen to the music there. read more

THEY DO NOT WEAR ANY GLOVES....YUCK!! This is the second time I go through the drive thru for breakfast and the last time too. First time I came into this place a few weeks ago I saw the cook wrapping my breakfast taco with his bare hands so I complained to the short pudgy manager on duty. He told me that he would take care of it. I could not force myself to eat that food so I threw it away. Last Saturday I drove through the drive thru at 5:30am hoping that these sick people were following procedures and that last visit was simply a one time issue. After ordering 3 potato egg and cheese tacos I drove up to the window and looked inside to see that same chubby disgusting manager working and a different cook that was not only preparing food with bare hands but I actually saw her dry her hands on her shirt. Her shirt had dirty marks around the stomach area and looked like she had been wiping her hands on that same dirty shirt all shift long. I see all the comments about food poisoning on the reviews and I can see why. These people are disgusting.
