An early birthday celebration meal for my wife, we showed up just before noon only to be told that the meal she wanted was not available until noon. She changed her order, l asked what was available and was told everything on the menu was available. l was tempted to order the same as my wife but decided that would be childish. l voted for leaving and eating elsewhere. My wife wanted to stay so l asked for the most popular dish. $32 later (for lunch) l took 2 bites, pushed my food away and watched my wife try to choke down crunchy dried out chicken enchiladas. What a wonderful little restaurant in far East El Paso. I was taken by the professionalism from the order taker to the server and everyone in between. Everyone was very polite. No one on their cellphones or earbuds! The music was a bit loud but not obnoxious. I enjoyed the enchiladas which were prepared just as I ordered. My lunch order was prepared quickly and perfectly. I enjoyed the whole meal. Please visit this restaurant and give them your business. I thought it was really good. I got Sauced tamales: 3 fat tamales with pork and chili colorado, crema and light dusting of cotija cheese on top. They have several sauces to choose from and spice levels. The masa was tasty, nice saltiness but not too much. Chile tasted homemade and had a good mild spice to it. I was full with two but it was so good I forced the 3rd one and have no regrets. I did not try the flautas but they looked good and can hear the crunch from outside. I look forward to coming back and having breakfast here. They also have a drive through. read more

Everything looks soooo good on the menu! I only ordered the Pozole one morning and was highly disappointed. First of all, it came with lettuce and tortilla chips. Lettuce....Tortilla chips???? Ugh, I usually prefer mine with bread and cabbage. It also came with 2 radish's and onions. My total was over $10.00 with tax. The Red Pozole contained tiny shreds of meat in, and I mean TINY! They should of just called it hominy soup! The broth was very spicy but needed some salt, oregano, something! Just had no flavor other than the overwhelming spicy taste. This was not authentic Mexican food by any means. This was Tex-Mex, it's what we El Pasoans call Mexican food with no flavor. I was double-charged at Puro Maiz. I told her at the time that it happened and cashier said that on her end it was only one time even after I showed my bank statement. She said that if both transactions get posted, she will give me a refund. I went back 2 days later with proof, and the manager, promised to fix it that same day but never did. Restaurant was busy and I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I've called multiple times since then, and every time I get the same excuse. When I spoke to Daniela supposedly manager , she was condescending and dismissive, saying the charge was "too old to fix" and that if I really wanted it resolved, I should have called more even claiming she doesn't remember me calling about it. She said another manager has to fix it. I asked for the name and she refused to say the name. I've been patient and respectful, but this is unacceptable. Terrible customer service and zero accountability. Passive aggressive. read more

So this place has been open about a year and it's 5m from my house. I'm kicking myself for not having tried it sooner. I'm from DF and the salsas and flavors here were traditional down south Mexican and really took me back. The chilaquiles, the chicharrón, the beans, and the barbacoa taco were all just delicious. Service wasn't the best! Says they close at 11 and I got there at 9. Meaning they SHOULD still be open because it says 11. They even had the open sign still ON! Also the lazy inside was super rude nodding her head and crossing her arms trying to tell me it's closed which is weird, AND to top that off we passed by it again not even 10 mins later and the sign was shining bright to mars and still said open. This is false advertisement which can hurt a business a lot! I say fix it or there will be more bad reviews from more people. Food has been good before the one other time I tried it. From the outside appearance and the fact that it has a drive-thru, I was really expecting a Taco Cabana type place. Because of this, I was pretty disappointed when my husband wanted to give it a try. However, I'm so glad he did or I would have missed out on some of the best food in town. The first time I went I had the pozole and it was absolutely amazing. I was a little weirded out by the fact that I got lettuce instead of cabbage but with the soup being so delicious, I ultimately didn't miss the cabbage at all. On my second visit I had the red chicken enchiladas. The sauce was so rich I almost felt like I was eating a tamal. If you like spicy then go for the 3 chiles sauce. It'll definitely have you sniffling but is so delicious you can't help but keep going for more. read more

Omg! When i tell you these chilaquiles are the best I MEANT IT!!! Customer service first of all is awesome! Both workers who were in the front were so nice and answered all my questions and knew how to respond perfectly. Also, the food is jaw dropping, literally looks and tastes like heaven. We were hoping to try something new, and local. We found this little Mexican restaurant Far East North Zaragoza. The menu is limited and confusing four dishes, pick a plate, meat and a sauce... took me a bit to figure how this worked. The staff was not helpful either. No recommendations or assistance. It was our first time here today. Been wanting to come for a while. I got the enchilada plate & my husband got the chicken chilaquiles. I'll start off by saying they are not stingy with their sauce which was great. A lot of places I go to there's barley any sauce. The sauce had a good flavor and it was a little spicy which I don't mind. The food was barley warm which it was kind of hard to enjoy with my cheese all cold. They gave very little rice. The beans were ok. The tostadas for the chilaquiles were really hard and the chicken was not well shredded. read more

I must say I liked this place before, that was until the cooks in the kitchen keep messing up my order every single time. This is the 3rd time in A ROW that they messed up and again every time I order I always ask for no cheese and guess what? THEY ALWAYS PUT CHEESE!! I don't know if the cooks can read orders but apparently they cannot make a simple order right! At this point I can't even go to this place anymore because I know that when I go they'll mess up my order every time management should really consider either training those cooks or hiring people that can actually read and make the order right the first time, it's ridiculous!!! read more

Went back for the flautas -- tortillas are perfectly fresh and crispy and again every salsa they have is so good.
