Literally. Filthy. In all the years I have been going out to eat, I have never seen a restaurant that is this absolutely, unequivocally disgusting. I'm talking flies EVERYWHERE. The grill hassomething slimy caked onto it. The sink drips and gurgles.The girl making the sandwiches is also working the cash register-- not an issue in and of itself... but then she goes and takes my cash with her bare hands, and then goes over to begin making my sandwiches... without so much as glancing sideward at the soap dispenser or sink. I notice this (!!!), and politely ask her if she would mind washing her hands and getting a new sandwich bun, so that my sandwich is not contaminated. The poor girl literally could not understand what I was asking her to do. Mind you, this was not a language barrier issue, or anything else; it was, pure and simple, just an employee who had very clearly never been trained, and couldn't figure out why I was being so "demanding" that she prepare my sandwich in a clean manner. I should have run screaming into the street at this point, but, cleverly, when I tried to pay with a $20 bill for a couple of sandwiches that came to just over $15, they claimed that they had no change. Meanwhile, the man who came in just after me paid with a $10 for an order that came to around $5 or $6 was given change with no argument. So, I was left to believe, their claim was nothing but a sad and desperate grab for a tip from me. I, unlike the man who came in after me, had my $20 bill snatched rudely from my hand and was told that the cashier/ sandwich maker/ Typhoid Mary who was waiting on me would have to "get someone to try to find change." She then hollers towards the back of the establishment, and a young man, every bit as grimy and disgusting as the establishment itself, comes lurching out. And, let me tell you, when I say disgusting, I really mean it... sweat stains all over his t-shirt, unshaven, no beard net, with some sort of substance that looked terrifyingly like blood smeared all over his arm and shirt. He takes my money from the girl, and before I can even get out the words "no thank you, I think I'll just go!", he disappears... and doesn't reappear for another 20 minutes, leaving me to wait for ages for sandwiches that, at this point, I don't even want!! So, fast forwarding back to the point where I was just stuck in this hell-hole of a sandwich shop, the girl, after sniffing a wet sneeze onto her sleeve, hands me my bag of two sandwiches. I thank her, wait for Lurch to come back and give me my darn change, and leave. Literally, I throw the bag of sandwiches straight into the trash as soon as I leave the building . So thank you, Tortas Mexico, for the most harrowing, hair-raising, and nausea-inducing waste of $15 I have ever experienced. Revolting. read more

Delicious and authentic Mexican tortas. Cheap, too. Wash it down with an authentic Mexican Coke and life is good. Try the colitas de Pavo or if you're hungry, nothing like a Milanesa. Very very good and the owners, who cook your torta, are on site and very friendly. read more

my roommate loves this place so much he says he wants them to cater at his funeral. because another bite of this might bring him back to life. lol. he really likes this place and we come here when its his turn to pick kinda thing. The tortas here are made in a fast food style. I never think to myself, "hmm i want something that tastes like fast food." but its not too hard to cross over to that dark side when your mouth if full of avo cheese mayo bread and the hellishly spicy salsa rojo. every time same story. pour on red salsa each bite. crying sweating sniffling smoke coming out of my ears and my roommate laughing uncontrollably when he sees my suffering. but i swear i do enjoy the heat. i like it rough daddy! i'm like cringing as i take a bite and ecstatic at the same time. its weird. imo the meats have been lower in quality. i wouldnt reccomend the milanesa or cubana. the former being a real tough cut of meat that does not separate when bitten lol. the latter being like.. mystery meat cat food pork with oscar meyer ham. the texana (fajita) one is pretty good though, both beef and chicken options eat well. wish there was carnitas or al pastor, but i think these guys are trying to stick to a fast food sort of aesthetic, which i guess is cute in its unity. read more

Authentic Mexican food!! I had been going here since I was a freshman in high school...so over 13 years ago...oh wow lol time is going by super fast. Well this place used to be under different management and the last time I visited my hometown was December of 2014. Still same great tasting items but the prices went up a little. My favorite is the Texana Torta. I saw some reviews saying that this place was dirty. It's not dirty but it is not a fancy place either. Mmmm Tortas!!! I always order the deshebrada and a Chile relleno burrito, and they are always delicious. This place used to have a salsa bar but I guess they did away with that. For $25 we got a can coke, large agua, papas, torta monstruo, and an order of 4 flautas with rice and beans. That is a deal people! It came out super fast with good portions too. The flautas were super crispy and tasted great. The torta was awesome. Loaded with lots of meat. Only reason it did not get 5 stars was because the beans were cold, wish the torta had queso fresco in it and the agua de horchata wasn't the best. Like idk if their AC broke no idea but it was hot as shit! Not the fastest service in town that's for sure. First off just want to say that the staff seems like they know nothing about serving food. We ordered two plates of flautas one of chicken and one of beef. Plate comes with a little bit of rice and what looked like burnt beans. I would not try this place again. Pretty quaint little place to get some good food. The pricing is not too bad either, you can get a torta, fries and canned soda for about 7 bucks. It's not a loud place either, which is good because you want to be able to talk to people during your meal. The ladies made my food quickly and it was warm. The red salsa was the star though! I haven't had a torta in a long time and the monster definitely doesn't disappoint. It has everything including milanesa, winnie, avocado to name a few of the many delicious ingredients. The fries on not the great. They reminded me of chico's fries. The only thing they're missing is an incredible salsa. They had several to choose from but I couldn't find one that a really liked. On my first attempt to try out this 5 star resturant I was severly disappointed by how dirty the place was. I honestly thought by the amount and craziness of all the kids in the place that I had walked into a chucky cheese or my worst nightmare. We waited 10 minutes to get some sort of service and by that time I had to leave. Gave it another try just last weekend. The results were grim at best. The place is in need of a pressure washer and 100 gallons of CLR/ bleach. If Im going to spend my money going out for dinner I want a quiet clean place with good service. The food?! This is the last place I would take visiting friends family or coworkers. I wouldnt even drop my worst enemy off there for a meal. So many great places to dine in El Paso. This place is Extremely Slow! The sides are disgusting! The veggies do not Taste, Look, or Smell Fresh! The Beans taste like they came out of a can, and the rice has Terrible Flavor! An to top it off the guy that takes the order EVERY TIME can never seem to get it right. Example: I order Tacos, and every time ask for NO ONIONS and just cilantro only. Excellent. The owner is very nice and welcoming, you can tell he is passionate in what he does right away. I got the tortas cubana which was delicious and filling along with a refreshing cucumber drink. The young gentleman behind the counter was very professional when asked about the chicana. He informed me they were out of the meat, boo! Returning after a night of them running out of bread (tortas). He did what most would do and asked if there is anything else I would like. I explained to him I can't eat pork or beef and then he asked if we would not mind waiting, he would be back. We agreed so he ran to the store and when he returned to my surprise he got the needed meat to make it happen. I thank you for the care and the kindness! Baller food and equally baller staff. I'm a fatass so I went for two different tortas. First off went for a machaca with desebrada, eggs and chorizo. I flew into town from SD and had some friends that had never been to El Paso. So of course I had to take them somewhere delicious to eat. Upon arrival, Johnny was extremely nice and provided us with amazing service. We ordered the torta of colita de pavo and it was delicious. To drink we had an agua de melon, horachata, and Johnny hooked us up with a fresh agua de sandia just because we were curious about it. The guac salsa is delicious and has great flavor. The food was amazing and the service was out of this world. Can't wait to go eat there again when I'm back in El Paso. Thanks Johnny for making our experience a great one as always. read more

This place is LIFE. I was hungry after the gym and almost went to the German place next door, but I am SO glad I came here instead. The lady behind the counter was very nice and translated the whole menu for me and had plenty of recommendations. I had the Cubano torta and it was awesome! Messy, but so good. From other reviews I knew to hit the salsa bar, and both green sauces were great. I saw a couple reviews that comment on the cleanliness and service and I find that surprising. It's a small place in an older strip mall, but the staff take good care of it. And they were delightful to deal with, so I'm not sure who the other reviewers had helping them. While I was there a steady stream of regulars came in with orders to go and eat in. I will be back to try the turkey tail! read more
