Very friendly service. We went in for a to go order. Relaxing atmosphere. This review is just for the torta cubana and chile colorado burrito. The pork in the torta as perfectly cooked, not too fatty. It just needed a tad bit of salt to bring out flavor. The chile Colorado was delicious too. Same thing though needed a bit of salt. A date and I were passing by this exit in north El Paso on our way back to Las Cruces and decided to hit up the Casa de Torta for lunch. Its location is well suited for the 45 minute drive to the City of the Crosses. The immediate area was quite busy but we managed to find a convenient parking spot off to the side of the building. The restaurant itself is not large with several tables and a few wood benches. The ambiance is best described as "spartan." It is an order at the counter place and they bring the food to your table. The restaurant was doing a brisk drive up window business. Most of the food served is either tortas or burritos . Prices are reasonable. Today I wanted to try their Pampas Torta with beef milanesa and chorizo even though I knew milanesa can be dry and tough to bite into. I ordered it as part of a combo meal with fries and a drink. My date ordered a beef and potato chile Colorado burrito minus the beans. The time from ordering to food on the table was around twelve to fourteen minutes. The food arrived at our table in a large paper bag; kind of a strange way to serve people dining in. Inside the bag was a burrito wrapped in paper, a large and heavy torta wrapped in foil, and a bunch of fries in a styrofoam container. Drinks are self serve at a counter. There were a couple napkins in the bag, but I had to go back up to the counter to ask for a plastic fork and extra napkins...which were needed. Overall, the service was pleasant and efficient enough but far from a professional level. The fries were light and crispy...not oily at all and fairly well seasoned. Rate these fries a "B." The beef burrito Colorado had a bit of potato and meat that was shredded. The meat was tender but the red sauce was not very tasty. This burrito didn't compare with the red chile meat burritos served around Las Cruces. I don't want to come across as a Las Cruces chauvinist but this red chile meat burrito wouldn't rank in the top twenty around Cruces. Rate it a "B-." Slightly above average. My torta was quite heavy. It had a large bun but the bun was not very flavorful and did not hold up that well. The chorizo had a nice flavor (but there was very little chorizo in the torta) as did the beef, but the milanesa itself had virtually no breading on it and it was so tough and grisly that you could literally not bite into it and it took eons to chew. This did not make for a pleasant dining experience. Rate the torta I had between a "C-" and a "D." It was not very good. Word of advice: if you dine here do NOT order the beef. I have to believe that chicken or other torta fillings will be better and worthy of a much higher grade. The restaurant did offer some little vials of red and green salsa to use on your meal. These were ok. At the end of the day, rate the overall dining experience at Casa de Torta around TWO AND THREE QUARTER STARS...meaning kind of mediocre. You do have to know what to order here as not everything is top drawer. Will I return? Can't be certain. I didn't enjoy my lunch very much. read more

I have visited Casa de Torta several times, and I am always happy with the taste of their food and customer service. The parking lot at the mini-mall they are located at is quite busy, so please be careful when you visit them. I tried their drive-thru, but it takes a while to get your food. I have never dined in; I always take my food to go, and when I do, I ensure I am not in a rush because it does take them a while to serve. My favorite is their chile colorado burrito. read more

Love this spot! It is my go to place for a side of refried beans. Lol that's right. I just come for the beans! I once got a thing of their chicken nachos a long time ago. I think I also tried their carne asada burritos. I will say the nachos were an excellent portion and tasted great. I wasn't too thrilled by the carne asada burrito unfortunately. I love coming here because i know their beans are made fresh every day. They have options of the drive thru or call ins which is super convenient. Yes, this place was bomb! I went around 10am. I had a chorizo and egg burrito without beans and a chile relleno burrito! The chile relleno burrito was a little tough to bite though but the chorizo and egg burrito was perfect! I love extra salsa so I had the red and green on the side. The green was my favorite! Love this place. The people that work here are always so nice. And the food is delicious. I totally recommend the Chile relleno. They clean the chilies really well so i don't get a mouth full of seeds. If you're really hungry try the nachos deshebrada. It's a lot of food and they pile on the deshebrada. Great beef tacos they are the right amount of salty and savory. I had the combo so it came with rice and beans. They were not anything to write home about, but not bad in anyway they got the job done. The fries were hot and crispy the kind you get at any border town diner,they were so good. It was a last minute add on but we very much enjoyed the fries. The bean and cheese burrito was one of the best ones I have had in El Paso. The flour tortilla is super thick and works great with the melting cheese and hot creamy beans. Just wish it stayed together better. The barbacoa torta was very yummy, but you have to eat it quick or it wants to fall apart on you. That being said, don't let that scare you away from trying it. We tried their red sauce and it reminded me of a place back home. I'd like to try the green next time. If you are on this side of town stop in and give it a try. they advertise chips & salsa on the counter & when you ask for it the lady at the cashier said they don't do it anymore and she admitted it was false advertisement but they still keep the signs there. so for a side of small 8oz salsa it's $4 & a side of chips is $5 something... almost $10 for chips and salsa is ridiculous, my son's kid tender meal doesn't come with a dipping sauce and that it is an extra $1.50. This place is so greedy with everything & extra items are priced way too high. The 2 girls at the counter give attitude which is not needed, and talked about me the second I walked away within ear shot. But because I had my son with me I didn't say anything,You'll know who those 2 are because it's the only girls I ever see there. So service is horrible & the sooo greedy with everything. A few years ago I moved from the Eastside to the Northeast and Casa De Torta quickly became my go-to for breakfast! There is something for everyone on the menu and nothing you won't like. Staff is wonderful even when the restaurant is bustling! While worth the wait, a drive thru is also available for customers. Unfortunately I didn't get photos of my food on my last visit (ate too quick lol) but I'll be sure to next time. I ended up relocating back to the Eastside but I'm always willing to make the drive just for their delicious food! P.S ask for the salsa verde on the side you wont regret! read more

We were new to the neighborhood and wanted to try authentic Mexican food, and found Casa De Torta on Yelp. The foods are all very fresh and delicious, and the owner and staff are all very friendly. I would rank their tacos as one of the best in El Paso, it is home-made style and very fresh and not too salty, just right halapanjo in the ingredients that I can finally appreciate the mild spicy taste. We came here because we were looking for a place with aguas frescas and we saw it on their Yelp menu. Turns out they were just licuados... not the same thing! We ordered a few kids meals, some quesadillas, burritos and a torta and the bill came out to $70! Very overpriced for the quality of the food. The milanesa tasted refrigerated and dry, the verde guisado had no spice, and the beans in the burritos was almost white and entirely tasteless. The only positives were the desherbada quesadilla and the size of the kids chicken finger meal. For that price, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I had a quick trip to El Paso a few weeks ago, and I was very lucky to get this suggestion from my girlfriend. This hidden gem is located in North East El Paso and has been there for over 8 years. It's got quite a bit of room too, so that was nice. The cashier was very friendly and offered to answer any questions we had. It was about 2:30 when we stopped in and not too busy. I went with the Cubana Torta Combo ($7.75) that included a side of fries and a fountain drink with one refill. The sandwich was great. the Pork was juicy yet slightly caramelized with a bit of crunch. The cheese and chili's really made for a nice flavor profile. The french fries were piping hot and salted perfectly. All of it went great with a Dr. Pepper. We also shared the Beef Taco Plate ($6.99). The tacos were soft and tasty. Not chewy or crunchy, but just right. The beef was flavorful and with a little bit of hot sauce, also tasted great. The beans and rice were spot on and made for nice sides. Tip: All the food is packaged to go, so it makes it really easy if you're in a hurry. If you're ever in search of a good Torta, this is the place. read more

The tortas taste great, I always get the deshebrada and add green chile, which I thoroughly enjoy.
