I have ordered their nachos before in other locations but this location really delivered the super in super nachos! These were seriously loaded and easily enough for 3 people. The dish came stacked with tortilla chips, beans, melted queso, your choice of meat (I went with the shredded chicken, which was great) I also appreciated that the guac and sour cream came on the side so you add as much or as little as you want. They were busy with the lunch rush but the service didn't miss a beat. Friendly staff and the food came out quickly. I'd definitely order this again but next time I will bring friends to share it with. My only suggestion would be for them to buss the tables more frequently. Other than that everything was good. Taco Cabana showed up as a Mexican breakfast fast-food chain so we decided to check it out. Here's my take on the experience: Quality of food: Good. We tried the breakfast Chorizo burrito and Huevos Ranchero. The chorizo burrito was good but it could have used a little more potatoes. The eggs in the Huevos Ranchero were completely runny even though they were supposed to be medium. The highlight was all the toppings and sauces you could put on top of your food. We really enjoyed the fresh green chiles and the green salsa verde. Décor: okay. I don't remember much about the decor but it felt inviting. Cleanliness: good. It was pretty early in the morning so everything looked pretty clean. Service: good. The cashier was friendly and answered questions about the menu. Price: affordable. It's been a while so I popped in for some Posole and a barbacoa burrito with grilled onions. The food was as ordered and tasty. The drive thru is always slow. I generally wait between 15-20 mins to get through. This time was no different, but even though they are a bit on the slow side, the service is always friendly, and my order is usually correct. I also like that they include lots of condiments with your food. I generally ask for salsa, cilantro, and limes, and those were provided along with my meal. I haven't been in insight for quite some time, but it is generally clean. One of my favorite spots for barbacoa. Great Service and Friendly Vibes at Taco Cabana - Albuquerque We were in Albuquerque for the weekend and were pleasantly surprised to find a Taco Cabana near our Airbnb. We stopped in Saturday afternoon and liked it so much we went back Sunday morning before heading home to Denver. The gentleman working the register was incredibly kind and courteous. When he found out my wife and brother-in-law were originally from San Antonio--his hometown too--he lit up and we had a great little chat while waiting for our food. It's always refreshing to meet someone in the service industry who genuinely enjoys connecting with people. You know it's been a minute since I last visited Taco Cabana. I remember enjoying their fajitas and breakfast burritos at one point. I'm sorry to say I have this location another chance. #regrets Oh boy where do I begin. The drive thru is a nightmare. Be prepared to wait at least over 10 minutes. I waited 16 minutes. The only reason I said was cuz I was locked in the drive through I couldn't get out with all the cars in both lanes. I ordered the chorizo burrito because even though it was noon, I really wanted breakfast. Needless to say when I got my food. I wasn't impressed by the presentation. The portion they give you for the price just doesn't seem worth it. I could easily go over to Blake's and get a significantly larger burrito for less than these guys are charging. My car was getting serviced across the street at the Subaru dealership, so I wandered across to get some breakfast. I chose a number 70 bacon, egg, cheese, and potato breakfast burrito. It was really good. I had red chili sauce on the side. They have a very nice condiment bar with all the traditional extras. The pico de Gallo was good, as well as the mild sauce. Bro at the drive through was so cooked. I ordered my entire order and then hes said "one sec" and then he replied after hearing him just chat with the other employees through the speaker "... hello. Welcome to.....taco.. what.. cabana. What...can... I............get for you.............. this...... evening". So I then replied my order and then he's read it back to me wrong so I corrected him and he kept saying the wrong order. I honestly thought I was being pranked at one point. I have loved Taco Cabana since they first opened their location across from Baylor campus in the early 90s. It was the closest place to campus all us non-Baptist heathens could get margaritas! I am a sucker for their fajita soft tacos and their breakfast tacos, especially the barbacoa & egg or brisket & egg. On a recent road trip, I timed it perfectly so we could have a late lunch at Taco Cabana (Sadly we have no locations in Phoenix). My mom had a breakfast burrito and I had the 2 fajita tacos combo. Then, I decided I would try a lengua taco. Oh my stars, it was AMAZING! The meat was so tender and flavorful and their hot salsa was the perfect counterbalance to the richness of the meat. My mom had eaten tongue before in some of the Jewish delicatessens in New York in the 50s & 60s and loved it there, but she said Taco Cabana's beat any she ever ate, anywhere! If you're lucky enough to live near a Taco Cabana, go and go often! Your tastebuds will love you, but your waistline may suffer a bit. read more

Taco cabana is the best fast food, Mexican chain that I have yet to find. No, this is not fancy, or even amazing, but where else can you get a pretty good barbacoa taco, handmade flour tortillas, and margarita at 8am after a nightshift? And for like $10 total?! Anyways we came here for lunch while on a work trip in Albuquerque, they have both done in, takeout, and drive thru. My boss likes to get their half chicken platter that comes with black beans, salad, and rice. I wasn't too hungry so I opted to try their tacos- I got a chicken & beef taco, and I had the choice of soft or crispy shell and I asked what was more popular and the worker said crispy. The tacos reminded me of Taco Bell tacos. Different compared to California street tacos. I also got a side of chips and queso. They have a salsa bar with all types of salsas to choose from for your food. Service was quick and the quality of food was good! I didn't really see what other people were ordering but I didn't feel like getting anything too heavy like a burrito. But I had their fresh tortillas and they were also really good! A Texas based chain but the ones in New Mexico are geared towards NM red and green chili tastes as well as carne adovada. A huge menu from rotisserie chicken, fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, soups, burritos, nachos, huevos rancheros, pancakes, and so much more. The Freshly made flour tortillas are great. The only item missing are tamales. Inside dining is modern, cheerful, and always clean. Outside Drive-thru sometimes has 2 lanes open at busy times. Very disappointed in this restaurant lately. Visited Sunday at 5 pm. on 4/21/24 for a bite to eat. The kitchen line had given a customer the wrong order and argued with the customer in front of all. Our order was also not rung up properly, so we had two orders # 63 and #64. The pick-up counter employees then proceeded to argue with me about taking both orders saying one was not mine. The condiment bar was very low and very dirty. The trash area was overflowing with food all over it. I ordered menudo and after a few bites I noticed that the kitchen mixed my menudo with posole. I've been eating at Taco Cabana since 1988 in San Antonio, at the first one. I love what the place *can* do. This location is unpredictable. Sometimes, it's great; sometimes it's terrible. I'm fed up with the latter. Tonight I got my usual fajita cabana combo. Like last time, the beef was tough and filled with gristle. What really took the cake tonight was the salsa Nazi behind the counter who refused to give me the quantity of salsa I normally eat. I guess she couldn't believe I needed that much. But after 33 years of eating here, I know how much salsa I need for what I order - EXACTLY how much. But no. I can't have more. Seriously?? And I wasn't given napkins either. Are we rationing those now too? Get it together, Cabana. There are plenty of other options around. It might be because I work super close but there is also another taco joint that is closer than Taco Cabana, but I love how they give me a ton of limes, salsa and cilantro with whatever I order. My go to right now is chicken tacos, usually hard but I dig the soft as well. Of course I follow it with a side of pasole too! I just recently had the carne plate, uhmmm I can't believe I've been missing this in my life. Please don't think that just because I'm pregnant I like Taco Cabana, I've always liked it, especially in my college days at 2am. If you have time go eat inside, then you can check out the plethora of salsa and yummy extras you can put on your dishes! This place is a happy medium between fast food and dine in. They once messed up my pasole order and gave me menudo, I took it back and the manager put my name on a list and told me to come back another time and they would give me a free pasole to make up for it.
