Tucked away in a small shopping strip next to a veterinary clinic and a Oaxaca Bakery sits Taco Boy. In a time when everything costs $15 and up Taco Boy has you covered because almost everything is around $6-$12 and the food is as if a loved one from a long time ago cooked it. We ordered a dinner special plate called Tampiquena which consist of pan fried skirt steak perfectly seasoned with two enchiladas made with in house red sauce, beans, rice and a side salad. All this costs $13.50 which honestly was a great value because it's very tasty. Also ordered the two Sopes special plate with asada which came with all the typical fixings. What we really liked about the Sopes is that it's freshly made Sopes made with masa. I highly recommend this place because of the quality, price and generous portions. I was a little concerned with the quality since the prices were so affordable but apparently this establishment still values the community so much they're keeping their prices low. Come check this place out.

It's a comfort food option . Always so quick with service and announcing numbers in both languages. The area is comfort zone bc my family is from there and they've been coming here for years.

This place is BOMB!I got this wet burrito for the second time already and it HITS for me.. (only bad thing I'd say is GOOD LUCK placing a phone order because it's always packed inside so that's probably why they don't answer lol) 10/10 recommend this spot for anyone looking for a really good spot

Mojarra Frita (fried tilapia) & rice, salad, and fries

The food is tasty. Their chips and salsa are a must! We've never had anything that we didn't enjoy; food is always on point. Do note that often times there is a line, therefore, you have to wait some time for your food to come out. For us, the wait is worthwhile. Reminds me of eating at my abuela's house. Lately, there's been a gentleman in the front taking orders and he's always polite and friendly. The place itself could use some upgrades, as it's outdated. Lots of parking spaces available, but there are times when you have to wait for a spot to open up whenever this place and the neighboring restaurants are busy. You can also call in your order for carry out, but honestly there's a 50/50 chance your call gets answered, so it's best to just go in

Torta milanesa

Authentic Mexican food at the right price in this small but cozy restaurant. Service moves slow, so come with ample time, but it's definitely worth the true. This place is a neighborhood staple and offers some of the best chilaquiles, fresh tortas and coffee!

All The Times I called

El Cremita is cheesy yet surprisingly light, never greasy. The chicken is soft and juicy, and the pops of pomegranate add a bright contrast that lifts every bite. Whiskil Taco is a dream for veggie lovers -- sweet, tender squash wrapped in a creamy, nutty sauce that feels both comforting and fresh at the same time. Mixta Taco stands out with its sausage and avocado combo -- rich, savory, and satisfyingly balanced. Taco de Chicharrón brings a fun textural contrast: crunchy, savory chicharrón paired with fresh, vibrant pico de gallo that keeps it lively. And the Pork Belly Cochinita Pibil? A showstopper. The generous slab of pork belly is smoky, buttery-tender, and practically melts into each bite -- deeply flavorful and indulgent in the best way. If you're looking to try a spread that hits creamy, crunchy, fresh, smoky, and sweet all in one sitting, this lineup absolutely delivers.

We got there on a Friday at 12pm and when we arrived to the location, the parking was ridiculous, they do not have any parking for customers other than in a very small cul de sac which is French for a dead end. They have 1 parking spot for handicap. It is obvious that the neighboring houses complained to the city about their customers taking all the residential parking so they built a wall in the middle of the street, crazy right! Anyways, let's get into the food!!! So we got the tacos, 4 pastor and 4 asada and a horchata, came out to about $50. Pretty pricey, worth it? I don't know. The tacos were great, the asada has a char flavor and the pastor is freshly roasted and served with pineapple, the tortillas seemed to be made by hand as well and gave it that real authentic flavor. The horchata was a bit too sweet. I would recommend this place, but make sure you go when it is not busy. The staff were polite and helpful when ordering, they did not rush at all. They have 3 benches in the shade available to eat on. It is an outside dining in a clean environment.

I highly recommend the tacos, especially the carne asada and al pastor--they're the best on the menu. I've tried the quesadillas, but they weren't as tasty, and the tripitas weren't the best either. For the best experience stick with carne asada and al pastor. They have about three small tables on the side to eat, but there's no parking or restroom available. Bring hand sanitizer and be ready to park wherever you can (without causing any trouble). It's the LA area, so parking is always a challenge. But don't let that stop you from trying these tacos. Cheers!

You could really taste the tomatillo flavor. The red ones were also tasty. I ordered the medium ones just in case they were too spicy but not spice at all. I will definitely ordered the hot ones next time! We also ordered the mollete with chorizo and cheese!! Another great dish!!! All the right flavors!!! Service is good. They greet you and ask if dining in or for take out. We ate there so she assigned us a table and said to order first then we sit down. Very efficient and quick ordering system. Lots of tables available to sit at. There are three sections available.

Although it is very common for restaurants to put the person with the least amount of customer service skills on the front, this restaurant takes the cake. Then we get our chilaquiles (I got red, girlfriend green), I realized they used cheese similar to Monterey or mozzarella (white grated cheese) on our food. Now, I my family is from Guadalajara and DF, we don't use that cheese on chilaquiles soni was very disappointed because I immediately hated the food. We ate because we had already paid but I didn't like it and my girlfriend told me we should've gone to El Guajillo or La Casa de la Abuela in Huntington Park even though we live in Whittier. The I look at the photos and I see they do use queso fresco on chilaquiles, so why did ours came with a different cheese?! If they run out we should've been informed and if it was an option we were not told. If you want real chilaquiles and good service check El Guajillo or La Casa de la Abuela both in Huntington Park

Great food! Staff was wonderful. Definitely worth it…read more Burria was fantastic. Not tons of seats, but good enough.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.
