It has streaks and handprints that are visible from the road as you pass by, and it actually deters us. The food was okay. The chips and salsa were good, but we were not asked prior to dinner orders if we would like any guacamole or queso, but we chose to order queso anyway after our main food order was placed. I chose a 'bistec' (thin flat steak) with an adobado sauce - which when I asked for a description of, (thinking it was a version of adobo?) I was told by my server they had not tried it, but 'did not think it was spicy'. I am okay with some spice to my food, so I ventured for it. It was indeed spicy. I was able to enjoy it regardless, with the accompanying avocado / mash / salad.. My dinner companion ordered a different dish altogether, and it was covered in the same sauce (not disclosed on the menu) - she would have liked some sour cream to accompany, but never again did our server visit the table until it was clear we were no longer eating. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying the place, but I was not impressed.

What happens is that it becomes very dated, very fast. I have a love for neon and 45s, but the way they are used in here with the sterile white on the walls just doesn't do it anymore especially given the size of this place and lack of use of that space, it just looks awkward. The staff were semi-alert when I came here for a quick lunch making it seem like I was intruding on their personal time rather than serving customers that come walking in the door. I decided to try one of their grill dogs that have been advertised to hell and back. It's decent, but not $2.50 decent. I could have ran down over the hill to the Sheetz and gotten two hot dogs for less than the price of this one. Here's the thing, if I'm paying that much for a hot dog it better be one of two things. 1) Be heaping with toppings or 2) I get to select the toppings and those toppings be unlimited. It was kind of a disappointment and waste of money. Any chance I can get to have onion rings with a meal, I take it, so that is one thing that BK has going for it that other fast food chains do not. One last thing about the food, if you have a food allergy such as I do that prohibits you from drinking a majority of sodas/mixed nonalcoholic drinks out there, the bottled water is a choice, but not a good choice. If you up size your meal you don't get a chance to up size the bottle of water. The one thing that was puzzling about this location was the overuse of the bathroom by noncustomers. From the time I sat down with my food until I finished three separate gentlemen came in to use the restroom for extended periods of time. And believe me, I used this restroom prior to leaving and there is nothing fancy about it especially since you can see everything going on in the toilet stall from the urinal. Makes you think that BK is either a hot spot for bathroom usage (particularly number two) or something else is going on.

The dining room was clean and comfortable except for the very loud ice machine which sounded like a jet engine. Most of the business seemed to be drive-through, and there's another dining room on the other side of the restaurant away from the noisy ice machine. The fish, chicken, and hush puppies were great -- so was the coleslaw -- but the waffle fried were not warm. I debated asking for more waffle fries that were hot but decided just not to eat them since the meal probably had enough calories by itself. Overall, this was a good experience and I appreciate that LJS still offers vinegar for the fries or, in my case, on the fish.

I took this as a cue for me to go find a seat. This place, from the outside, is deceptive. I thought it only had the dining room right as you walked in like many fast food places. But this location has a second and third dining area. Ample seating in areas away from the noise. I found myself a seat, got my condiments, used the restroom and still had time to wait until my food was ready. My food was finally ready and I went about eating. I think this can go without saying, but the portion sizes here have gone way down. The fish, which used to be as big as your face, is now like the size of your palm. The chicken, felt like it was a chicken tender at one point, until they cut it in half. The fries have gone waffle style. The slaw is an old reliable. The only thing that seems to have ballooned in size (as well as price) is the hush puppies. They even scaled back on the crunchies. Overall, too much food, but I ate it all. I was pleasantly full by the time I left with my barrel of soda. My LJS craving has been ebbed for the time being.

My friend and I have added this to our "frequently visit" list of where we like to eat. The food…read morehas been out of this world the last two times we have been there, whereas before it was just good. Now I am a very plain eater- the spiciest I like to get is vanilla (lol). However, I have noticed a distinct change in the food. The amount of spice in the food only adds to the quality of it. There is a distinct improvement in the flavor that carries through from the first bite until the very last. There is a big change in the quality of the service as well. It took a tiny bit of a delay to get seated, but the food and service made it worth the wait. My beverage was filled before I asked for it, the waitress asked about the flavor of the food and if everything was good, and of course it was! The ambiance is amazing and the decorations appeared authentic. I cannot imagine the craftmanship that went into carving the booths! We will definitely be back here again- it is at the top of our list!
