Seriously, they might be the only tenant left on the property, and as towns on the 395 go, Bishop is one of the largest. The cognitive dissonance for coming here as an option to waiting in line at Schaat's is palpable. Heck, probably would have been better off getting hot food from the case across the street at Starbucks. I have to remember that Taco Bell is merely a vehicle for PepsiCo to sell their drinks, and never to order food here again. I feel like if you know what Taco Bell is, you can't be mad if that's what you get when you order it. I was raised on Taco Bell, so while I know it's an Americanized bastardization of Mexican food, I know that through the lens of nostalgia and childhood innocence. I just moved to the area and was relieved to see that there was a Taco Bell close to where I live. The thing is, since my childhood, I've become a more conscious eater and a vegetarian. I thought that spelled doom for my future with Taco Bell. Then I discovered that there can be vegetarian substitutions (Crunchwrap supreme with black beans still taste great) and that you can order from the Taco Bell app! So I used the app to order a vegetarian Crunchwrap, asked for a few packets of diablo sauce, and made my way over. I told them my name on the drive-through, they found my order, and since it was already paid for via the app, it was nearly contactless (they gave me my order by extending it on a serving tray). When I opened the bag, I saw that they gave me a GENEROUS handful of diablo sauce. Really pulled through! The Crunchwrap supreme was crunchy and extra hefty with the black beans substituting for the ground beef. Enjoyed my meal, have a stash of tb sauce at home, I'm a happy vegetarian camper. Honestly, I really didn't wanna give this place a bad review being that there aren't very many spots to eat in paradise after the fire. BUTTT Iv given this place at least 4 chances. All terrible. It's such a huge hit or miss here... Sometimes your order is right, sometimes it's completely off. Sometimes your food will be warm, sometimes half of it will be cold. I don't eat a lot of meat, so I ask for my Nachos Bel Grande without beef and, to me at least, that doesn't seem so bad, but I swear most of the time it still has beef. My husband also asks for his things without sour cream, and it almost always has sour cream on whatever he gets, usually burritos. The employees also seem to be fairly well mannered most of the time, but there are a few who seem to constantly be in a bad mood and don't really care to help the customers. On my last trip there, an employee there stood and talked with the manager about how she doesn't date his son anymore while I was standing at the counter, trying to get a cup for my son. He's at the table, getting fussy because he wants water, and I make eye contact with her and a few other employees MULTIPLE TIMES before she manages to step away from the gossip to help me. When I started trying my hand at Yelp reviews, I made a personal vow to not review chain fast food places. Seemed kind of pointless because everybody knows what they want to know about chain fast food franchises.But, I was driving through today, and I decided to break my vow and do a review for the Bishop Taco Bell because, at least in my experience, it is a superior Taco Bell. I never went to Taco Bells (no particular reason) until we got one in Bishop years ago. Then I started, and I thought Taco Bells were great--because the one in Bishop is. The food is fast, hot, cheap and, relatively speaking fresh (emphasis on the word "relatively"). I also like the fact that you can get vegetarian friendly food that is pretty decent (the bean burrito and the seven layer burrito). I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't always want meat and it is good to have an alternative. Then I tried some Taco Bells outside Bishop, and have always been disappointed. Horrible food; long waits, etc. etc. So, the moral of the story is that if you're cruising through Bishop and need something really fast and really cheap, stop in. But don't forget that we have lots of other good, authentic Mexican places if you want real (and not Taco Bell) Mexican. But this is the only chain fast food place review that I am going to do! read more

The only reason why I'm even giving a two star review is because the people there are normally pleasant and friendly otherwise it would be a 1 Star. I get it's fast food and you should have low standards, but I cannot express how irritated I am with paying anywhere between $10-20$ on tortillas. The burritos I get are not filled at all, every time I have gone. I end up ripping off a lot of the tortilla because there's just SO MUCH of it and not enough fillings, as compared to other Taco Bell's and how this one used to be; very nice filled burritos. I'm not sure it's because they're having shortages and can't make as full of burritos anymore, and if that's the case, they should inform their customers. I'm quite unhappy about this and have dealt with it multiple times but today, after getting a very depressing burrito that I ended up ripping off half the tortilla so it could be more of an actual burrito, I've decided to make a review about it and express my discontent and hopefully keep some people informed. read more

Taco Bell is my favorite fast food restaurant, and Bishop is my favorite location, so it's a perfect combination! The food looks good, tastes good and has a reasonable price. Placed an order in the drive through, 3 items were to have NO lettuce and NO tomato and add spicy ranch sauce. We get home and all 3 items had lettuce and tomatoes. So, I go back and go inside to take the items back. The 3 ladies on the cook line looked at my receipt repeatedly and kept asking me "no lettuce, no tomatoes?" Wow!
