By far the best spot to stop between Jonesboro, AR and Memphis. Great ice cream with lots of choices for burgera & fried foods. Catfish plate is always a favorite. The new building is very nice and much more spatious than the original famous shake shack. Would recommend for anyone passing through Marion to stop for a bite or a sweet tooth. read more

Amazing! We traveled home from Iowa to Texas and were looking for something to eat. With kids we didn't want to eat in the car so with good reviews we decided to give this place a try. We pull up on a Saturday night and were concerned there was not going to be room for our party of 8 because the parking lot was FULL! There was plenty of room inside and everyone was so friendly. I love this place! The service is pretty fast and the food is pretty good for the morning. Never ate there for lunch or dinner except once. For the first time I went there for dinner I got shrimp. It wasn't that bad and it was crunchy and a bit dry. But, if you go there in the morning, I recommend the Big Ole' Breakfast. The Big Ole' Breakfast comes with an egg, 2 pieces of bacon, hash browns, and 2 slices of toast. Me and my Dad like our egg runny for that meal and I enjoyed it! While most quickly pair burgers and fries, the combination that is every bit as familiar, dating back to the American Graffiti drive-in days of the '50s & '60s, is burgers and shakes, the focal point of Big John's Shake Shack. The best things are always timeless. In Marion, the Shake Shack is a stronghold. According to one reviewer, the restaurant was once only open on weekdays, only recently opening on Saturdays, with proceeds going to fund Christian mission trips around the world. I'd planned on visiting while I was in the area anyway, but knowing that fact made the scheduling simpler. I would be visiting on Saturday and eating well. This is one place that revels in its uniqueness, the walls and counters adorned with memorabilia from Coca-Cola and Elvis. It is right next to Memphis, after all. Walking through the doors is like stepping back in time, just for a moment, to a simpler time without the skewed priorities and frenetic pace that tends to negatively impact everything that is said and done in 2015, no matter where you call home. It is a nice change of pace for those who seek such things. The food itself is what you want in a burger and shake joint: Large portions, good prices, cooked properly. Keep it simple, do it well, bring people back. It's the business model of everything when it is done right. I can see why the place is so frequently packed. In fact, we managed to find the only empty booth in the house at 1 PM. As busy as the Shack may be during the week, the Saturday-only burger menu is a thing of beauty to a carnivore. The only problem is narrowing down the choices, even when room has been saved for at least two. Each burger is offered in two sizes, medium and large, 1/4 and 1/2 pound respectively, but even the medium version of these specialty burgers are sizable. Big burgers are not hard to find, but excellent flavor combinations can be troublesome when restaurants start getting courageous. Fear not. Shake Shack pulls it off. The first selection was an easy pick, with three of my favorite things brought together under the same bun. The Mac and Cheese burger is truly a thing of beauty; a fresh cooked burger topped with crispy bacon and a monstrous helping of homemade macaroni and cheese. Plenty of institutions, including a handful of chains, offer a burger with macaroni and cheese, but the item that should set the burger apart tends to set the burger back, thanks to the usage of processed, generic mac that quickly reminds you how much you are paying for something you could have made better on your own, in your own kitchen, for less money. The mac and cheese at Shake Shack is fantastic on the burger, and the kind of rich side dish that could be a meal on its own. It's that good, and clearly homemade. With several strips of bacon and a fresh bun to go with the burger and mac, and a helping of crispy tater tots on the side, finding a better option on the menu is a challenge. The PBB burger is a twist on the infamous Guberburger, brought to fame by the sadly closed Wheel Inn Drive-In in Sedalia, Missouri and their segment on the Hamburger America documentary. The Guberburger stood out due to its use of peanut butter on the burger, accented with a slice of tomato. The Shake Shack variety takes matters a step further, serving the burger with peanut butter, bacon, and a slice of white American cheese. The combination is risky but the result is excellent. The richness of the peanut butter, the creamy taste of the cheese, and the medium-well burger mix perfectly. The Ultimate BC burger lives up to its ultimate name. Touted as the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, the toppings are piled on until the bun can take no more. Multiple strips of bacon, which are a staple of nearly every item on the menu, set atop a variety of cheeses ranging from sharp Cheddar to Colby Jack, and at least one or two more. This is the burger for a cheese lover, a bacon lover, or your everyday glutton. Not that there's anything wrong with that. There is something to be said for a place that knows its role, knows what and who it is, working within that paradigm to reach its fullest potential, while serving every single patron with excellent, expedient, and friendly service, leaving everyone knowing that their business was truly appreciated. Let's face it, not every restaurant, even the small businesses we like to reach out to when we can, pulls that off with regularity. Some, quite honestly, don't care once they have your money. The Shake Shack is special, from the food to the attitudes to the commitment to missions trips that have a wide-reaching, long-lasting effect on lives in Marion, across the country, and around the world. Visited this place on the way home from a weekend trip to Little Rock. This is a fantastic little family run restaurant that is decorated in nostalgia. It wasn't that busy when we stopped by but it seemed like there were still quite a few locals that stopped by while we were there. We weren't quite hungry for dinner yet so we got desserts. I had an oreo shiver and it hit the spot. This is a great spot to stop and get a bite to eat while traveling or if you live in the area. I definitely want to try one of their burgers next time in addition to a dessert. read more

Didn't order any shakes or ice cream because we were traveling, but I did get a couple of bags of peanut brittle and a fried apple pie. I usually get a shake and bacon cheeseburger. Fish on Fridays. Very big portions. Check out the ice cream fountain bar. Make sure to put a push pin on the map where you are from! Really friendly staff, regular fries were actually cooked fully were ceisp and non greasy, burgers were good. I had the bc burger the bacon was really good the burger overall was good but for me I tried it with the cheeses it came with which were good but I would of liked it better with American cheese. He had some bbq burger I think it may have been called the john wayne. He said it was good. Also got him the lemon ice box pie cause its his favorite. It was good only complaint is it was runny the fridge it was kept in must not be getting cold or staying cold. Over all def would eat here again and def would try more desserts read more
