My son's birthday was approaching and I was at a loss at what to do... With life returning to normal, I wanted to do something that brought this celebration to the next level. I stumbled across Tac Ops via Google search. After digging deeper, I decided that this could be a pretty neat thing. My expectations were met and exceeded. We had my son's baseball team head over after a pizza party. While the boys were being instructed on how to use the laser guns, the adults took a walk around inside and out was just mind blowing. It was absolutely awesome inside there. The session lasts for an hour and fifteen minutes and the boys had a blast. They came out absolutely drenched. (Which it's smart if then to sell Gatorade and water because my son downed one afterwards). Highly recommended and the young lady that was with us (I believe her name was Bre) was phenomenal with our group!!

Five young men are standing indoors in a laser tag arena, each holding laser tag guns and wearing headbands with sensors. They are positioned in front of a wall with a game map and screens displaying game information. The environment includes a wall with camouflage patterns and large green barrels labeled 'US ARMY.' The group appears to be ready for a game, with casual athletic clothing and smiling expressions.

This is a must activity for your groups of friends or family!! I had so much fun, I immediately wanted to do it again. I wish they had a practice run and taught you how to use your gun while you actually have your gun in your hand because it took me a round or two to figure it out.

The image shows a wall-mounted display of multiple laser tag guns, each with a blue light, arranged in a row. Above the guns, there are mannequin heads wearing various hats and caps, along with T-shirts hung on the wall, including themed and graphic designs. A large flat-screen TV is centered on the wall, and the room has a gray ceiling with fluorescent lighting. The setting appears to be an indoor laser tag or tactical gaming venue.

PROS: Parking was good and the place was very spacious. It was 8,000 square feet and the lasers are more modern tech. The staff was very nice as well, especially this cute girl named Chan. She played the lieutenant in the game. We did team deathmatch first and then we did a mission that involved zombies CONS: Some of the lasers did not work during one of our rounds and theres nowhere for you to call for help in case you need it. The place is hard to find because it's in a large building with only a small sign pointing you in the direction. The place is also overpriced for the amount of time you get OVERALL: Good laser tag adventure, I do recommend it. Just know where the entrance is, bring your wallet, and have fun!

Jeremy - A young man with curly, light brown hair is smiling at the camera in a kitchen. The kitchen features beige cabinets, a stainless steel refrigerator, a sink, and a countertop with a small bottle. The background includes a green and blue wall-mounted item, and the image appears slightly blurry.

Stumpy's Hatchet House is the first indoor axe throwing venue in the US. We visited the Fairfield location on Route 46 West. It's located inside a large office complex that has plenty of parking. The entrance is in a little corner. It may look small at first, but looks are deceiving - it's a lot more spacious inside. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly staff member in the lobby/check-in area. The ambiance and decor is ON POINT! It's a very rustic atmosphere with a lumberjack theme - you'll feel like you're in a cozy cabin. Take some time to look at their wall decor and merchandise. Reservations (deposit required) are highly recommended, especially for larger groups on the weekends. They do accept walk-ins, but only if there's available room. We came on a Sunday at 5pm without any reservations and it was surprisingly empty. You can book for 1-3 hours. Smaller groups (4 and under) are booked for 1 hour, while larger groups (5 and over) are booked for 2 or 3 hours. Pricing is based on how many hours you book for and is charged per person. They also have a 20% discount for military and first responders. We paid $60 for an hour ($30 each for 2 of us) and signed our waivers. Stumpy's has 10 hatchet pits, each with two targets and plenty of room for the participants. There are tables, chairs, and comfy sofas. It's BYOB (beer + wine only) and you can even bring your own food. They have a "bar" with light snacks and soft drinks available for purchase. An axe throwing instructor gave us a tutorial on safety, how to throw the axe, and how to use the interactive game system. Unfortunately I forgot his name, but he was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. He checked in on us and gave us some tips/suggestions to correct our form. You can simply hurl your axes at the target or you can choose from a variety of interactive hatchet throwing games on a touch screen system. In addition to axe throwing, they also have darts and giant games (like Jenga). It took awhile for me to get the hang of it.... but I finally activated the lumberjack in me and got around to hitting a couple of bullseyes!!! This was a fun experience overall. The atmosphere was lively, music was good, and the interactive games kept us entertained for an hour. I recommend trying axe throwing as a way to bond with people over some friendly competition or to release stress in a productive manner! Not to mention... it's also a great work out ;) Put that upper body and core to work... and hurl that axe like you mean it!

It took a while for my friend and I to get the hang of it, but our husbands, who had been before, did well. After a good hour I finally became adept There was cornhole, jenga and shuffleboard. It was nice to break up the throwing. The couches were comfy too. They sell some snacks and drinks but the place is byo. They offer ice if needed. We saw some groups get pizza delivered. Would definitely return!

The arcade is very big and there's a lot of options that would make little kids happy. It's a good place to bring younger kids to kill half a day in the arcades or other amenities, like for a morning and early afternoon run. Or just swing by for a couple of hours before lunch at the arcades and other little attractions there. I wouldn't say it's a more exciting way to spend the day than going to the attractions at American Dream or anything like that. But it's a great place for simple fun and enjoyment on a smaller scale if you don't feel like doing more than just keeping kids or teens occupied for a few hours.

The entry ticket purchased also gave access to bowling, bumper cars and several rides. Early arrival is suggested to avoid long lines. The food was very mid (carnival level), the drinks varied depending on which bar you got your drink from. The pool area was jammed pack.... Literally people standing on top of each other. We spent the majority of our time inside where we enjoyed ourselves the most. All in all we had a good time and would go back next summer.

The guys at the front are super chill and the place looks like somebody's messy garage where all your complex emotions can just be purged out of your body and just stay there, and I'm really here for it. We were given safety hazmat style suits and helmets with a protective mesh and ear coverings which were really useful because things do tend to fly off the walls when they're being smashed and that's on my girl ~* PhYsiCs *~.... The staff was super accommodating and gave us multiple small and big items to smash in to pieces. The landline telephones were my favorite because they are rock solid and it's SO satisfying when they finally break. The whole experience was delightful. I think we may even have stayed way over our allotted time but nobody really seemed to care, as I said this place is just super chill and the type of environment you need to unleash all your pent up anger at the world. They even have speakers that you can pair your phone with as you smash things. 10/10 highly recommend this place and I will be back again when the itch to throw hands and fight the world comes back to me!!

We went for the $200 room, which came with one large item, one medium, one small, and a variety of plates and cups to smash. The process starts with signing waivers, storing your stuff in a locker, and suiting up with a helmet (with a face guard), gloves, and a thin jumpsuit. They also give you a wireless speaker so you can blast your own music while you rage which adds a fun personal touch. Inside the room, the rules are pretty straightforward: don't break the walls, don't hit each other, and keep communicating. You get a choice of "weapons" including bats, pipes, crowbars, a skateboard, and hammers. For about 30 minutes, we were on our own with plenty of room to let off steam and smash things to our hearts' content. Was it fun? Absolutely. Smashing stuff is as therapeutic as you'd hope. Was it worth $200? That's a tougher call. It felt a bit steep for what you get, but the experience did match what was advertised. I imagine you could find similar rooms for less money outside of Manhattan, but this is New York; just about everything is pricier here, even breaking stuff. Overall, I had a blast, but if you're on a budget, keep in mind that the cost is definitely part of the thrill in this city.
