We visited today for the Mother's Day Queen's Tea. I called to make a reservation 2 months in advance since they book up so quickly. In general, reservations are recommended as seating is limited, especially on weekends. When you arrive, you are presented with a prix-fix menu. On non-holidays, you usually have a choice between the soup or the salad of the day. You select your pot of tea from over 60 premium tea flavors. Today, I chose the "Paris" special tea, which had notes of vanilla, caramel, and bergamot. For the Mother's Day Queen's Tea, we had the broccoli and cheddar quiche, a pear, goat cheese, candied walnut, mixed green salad, scones, assorted mini sandwiches, and several mini desserts. Every course was fresh and excellent. The caramel scones are one of the best things I have ever eaten. They are served warm with clotted cream and lemon curd. The caramel is so goey and melts in your mouth. We brought some orange juice and prosecco to have mimosas with our tea. They have glassware in the back that you can request when making your reservation. The service is always top-notch. Holly is the best server! She is super sweet and always hardworking. At the entrance, there is a little gift shop with lots of cute vintage items, tea-themed trinkets, and some of the loose lea tea available in small bags. We love coming here and hope to be back again soon. "Paris" Tea: 5/5 Broccoli & Cheddar Quiche: 5/5 Mixed Green Salad: 5/5 Caramel Scone: 5/5 Lavender White Chocolate Scone: 4/5 Mini Sandwiches: 5/5 Mini Desserts: 5.5

BEWARE: Confirm pricing before booking…read more We had a 4:00 PM reservation on December 7th for 2 adults and 3 children under age 10, booked by phone. At no point during the reservation call, upon arrival, or during the meal were we told that this was a special holiday event priced at $60 per person, with no children's pricing, even for preschool-age kids. No menu or pricing was provided at the table. We only learned of the cost at checkout, which was extremely surprising given the pricing publicly listed elsewhere. We expected to pay $21.95 per child. Imagine our shock to be charged $60 (for a 4 year old who barely even ate anything!) That said, the tea itself was enjoyable, and we really appreciated their ability to accommodate gluten-free and nut allergies, which they handled well. The variety of teas was impressive. Afterward, I emailed the owner to raise these concerns and was told he would look into it, but I never received a follow-up. He said the pricing is on their website and social media but on their website it's buried in the events page and I don't follow their social media. I made a phone call and booked a tea reservation and didn't expect to have to cross reference multiple online sources for accurate pricing. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency and follow through overshadowed the experience and left us with a pour taste for what should have been a lovely holiday treat. Strongly recommend confirming exact price per person and asking specifically about event pricing when booking by phone, especially around holidays.

I had to chase her for the supervisor. To add insult to injury, Rosemary was so sure of herself and her position, she mocked me behind the supervisors back as we spoke. As much money spent here, a greater deal of respect, communication and customer service should have been extended to not only the wedding party, but their guest. The remaining staff, PHENOMENAL! Service was quick and attentive, and we did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy a pleasant time chatting. Drinks: the black walnut Manhattan, Fig jam old fashioned, wine , beer and port. Drinks were all excellent, i tasted the Manhattan and enjoyed it over the Fig Jam. For apps: Clams oreganato (the couple with us enjoyed this), flat bread (was much more like pizza than flat bread, but still tasty, per my husband), and on the special New England Clam Chowder which was very good, not too thick and decent and fresh clams in it. Entrees: Shrimp Risotto scampi, very flavorful Risotto cooked perfectly. Two of us ordered the Cajun Mahi Mahi, over spinach with mashed, and 2 shrimp. the Cajun sauce was tasty with the perfect amount of heat, shrimp and mahi-mahi fresh and cooked perfectly. Rigatoni Bolognese which my husband enjoyed and said it was almost as good as my Italian mother's (like a good son-in-law) lol Dessert: Crème Brûlée - Brûlée was perfect, the crème was a little too thick for me. I ate it and enjoyed it, but not the best I've had. My husband ordered the key Lime Pie happy that it did not include nuts in the crust as some do, he thought it was good. Overall we had an enjoyable albeit pricy meal with good service. I would come back if other's wanted to go but it would not be my go to place.

The Legacy Castle

Ok long post but I have to say this because everyone needs to know!!!…read more Our wedding at The Legacy Castle was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I truly don't even know where to begin because every single part of this experience exceeded anything we could have ever imagined. The venue itself is unreal. It is hands down the most beautiful venue in all of New Jersey. It literally feels like an absolute fairytale being brought to life. Every corner, every detail, every view is just breathtaking. We kept looking around the entire night thinking, "we really got married here?" I still cannot believe we were able to have our wedding at a place this stunning. It is truly top tier. But what made everything even more incredible was the staff. Every single person we interacted with, our maitre d' and coordinator especially, and the entire team, were beyond professional. I mean truly beyond. Nothing was short of absolute perfection with them. Everything was organized, seamless, and handled with such care and precision. I thought one or two things could go wrong because that's just how weddings go. But No mistakes with this staff. What honestly shocked us the most was how many of our vendors pulled us aside just to rave about the staff. Not one, not two, but multiple vendors stopped us and said that in all the weddings they've worked, they have never seen a team this organized and professional. They told us they go to weddings every single weekend, and that this was on another level. Hearing that from people who are constantly in this industry really put into perspective just how incredible this team is. On top of that, my husband and I were honestly so overwhelmed throughout the day, and the staff just took over everything in the best way possible. We brought in so many personal items and decor pieces, fully expecting that at the end of the night we'd probably lose a few things here and there because things get chaotic and things get misplaced. But somehow, they packed every single item back exactly how we brought it, and loaded everything into our car without breaking a sweat. They even escorted us out and sent us on our way with a huge smile at the end of the night. And the food... I don't even have the words. We didn't add anything extra, this was just their standard offering, and our 250 guests are still talking about it. So many people told us it was the best cocktail hour they have ever seen in their lives. The amount of food, the quality, the presentation, it was beyond anything we expected. Everyone says the one thing guests always remember from a wedding is the food, and I know for a fact people are going to remember ours because it was just that good. Everything about The Legacy Castle, the beauty, the organization, the professionalism, the food, the service, was absolutely flawless. It felt like every single person there genuinely cared about making our wedding perfect, and they delivered in every possible way. We are still in disbelief over how perfect everything was and will forever be grateful

It seems like when last it was renovated it was done in a hurry, as we had several issues with our room to the point where we had to switch. In the first room, the outlets were loose and separated from the wall. The bathroom door was difficult to open and close and made a loud noise in doing so. The door to the refrigerator was not cut to size properly, so it was also difficult to open/close. Lastly (and most importantly), the shower had no hot water and hair stuck to it from prior guests. When we called to the front desk, a very nice lady named Brenda helped us quickly get into another room. The beds were very hard in both rooms, I did not get much sleep in the hotel as a result. To add insult to injury, the bar was closed until further notice. We were told that due to a management change they needed a new liquor license. We were given a free breakfast for our room change inconvenience. We will not be staying here again.

Additionally, the perks of a microwave, laundry room, and free parking are all pluses to me. I've stayed at a couple hotels in the area since I spend a third of time traveling here for work. While the MC Hotel is probably one of the "better" hotels in the area, it's just not worth it to me. I much rather prefer the Courtyard Marriott. Close by is the Doubletree Hilton but those rooms lack a microwave and seem older and dirtier. The walls are thin no matter which hotel and this place is no different. Staff is generally friendly and helpful. The Bistro serves food that is good enough for when you don't want food delivery or to go out. Other than that, no complaints...I found it sufficient for long work stays.

The place is very cute inside with different seating areas, multiple bars and a closed in outdoor patio with heaters which is where my friends and I partied the night away. We arrived around 10 pm and the place was mostly empty, but as the hours passed, the place got packed! We attended on a Latin night and I actually loved the good mix of music - it was mostly Spanish music, but not all. I really liked how we did not have to pay for bottle service for a table, because most other places require it in order to have a seat or table. The drinks are fairly priced, however, the hookah was a whopping $42. So we opted out of that. Maybe that's how much the price is now but I remember back in the day paying $25 for a hookah. Being used to places like Illusions at the Sheraton Mahwah as well as the Limelight and Webster Hall, the NYE advertisement made it far larger than it actually is. Paid $100 for open bar and buffet - which is super reasonable but we would have preferred a table but none were available. Getting drinks throughout the night was not a problem - always prompt and friendly. The buffet was actually quite good which included jumbo shrimp, sushi, Spanish food , Italian, and lots of appetizers which were pretty good. In the beginning, we thought it was a bad idea coming as it was quite empty at 8pm. By 10:30, it was quite busy and at 11:30, packed to the limit. They served midnight champagne, party favors, and were quite well staffed. The BIG issues.... It was open bar. So I probably had at least 12-15 drinks. I would be normally plastered for drinking so much (and I don't normally drink very much). I just wanted a slight buzz so that I would enjoy the constant dancing. I always saw them pour at least 1 shot of alcohol per drink. I wasn't even slightly buzzed or drunk for that matter. Leads me to believe they watered down the bottles. I can't prove anything but the fact we drank so much all night with no effects leads me to wonder. Second, with hundreds of people and 1 women's bathroom with 2 stalls, my wife was was holding it in instead of waiting for a 30 minute + line. In the end, we did enjoy the NYE party very much. $100 is pretty reasonable but with alcohol issues, I would skip the place if that is important yo you.

I said, "I would just go ahead and book it online instead. Thank you." At that point, it felt like she just didn't want to help us purchase a time slot but rather a membership for whatever reason. What was most frustrating was having to step aside and purchase the tickets online ourselves when the associate could have easily assisted us at the register. It felt unnecessary and inconvenient. We enjoy bringing our kids here, but this experience left us feeling disappointed. I'm not against businesses promoting memberships I completely understand that part. I work in retail all my life. However, I am against being told there are no available slots if that isn't accurate, especially if it creates pressure to purchase a membership instead. Finally when she saw that I was trying to get a hold of her she asked me what I wanted and I explained to her my problem. She stated that it wasn't her problem and that I would have to pay for a new drink. Meanwhile the drink was right in front of me untouched and she still want me to buy another drink.
