We had a private room, which allowed the children to interact and play together. They started off with tattoos and coloring while kids were brought to another area to make teddy bears in groups of four or five. Lately, you go to a birthday party, and the kids are all just running off on their own and not playing together. Here, the activities got the children to play together, which I find so important. It was absolutely awesome! I also liked the quality of the teddy bears, clothing, and backpacks the kids got. I also can't say enough nice things about the service and staff. They were incredibly helpful in every possible way and accommodating. From the moment we walked in everything just worked seamlessly. There's also such a calm vibe that it is pleasant for the parents hanging out. The party area is open and spacious so everyone felt very comfortable. About three different families that participated in our party liked it so much that they're looking to do their kids party there as well. This place deserves even more than five stars... Internal stakeholder management issues notwithstanding (non-vendor side), the experience was wonderful from top to bottom! Having never been here, nor painted pottery since I was in 7th grade, I called Artsy to find out what to expect. Stephanie who picked up the phone didn't have the answer to one of my questions (it was her first day!), but found out and called me back right away. We walked in on a weekend morning. Sylvia, another lovely employee, greeted us and explained the process. The interior is clean, zen, cheerful, colorful, neat and well-organized. My child chose a ceramic and colors, Sylvia laid out the paints, and the père-fils duo got down to business while I settled in a nearby cafe to get some work done. (There is actually a cafe in the back of the store, but it was closed at the time as I'm told they're soon moving to a larger space up Main St.) Although FamCo's senior team member reported that the junior associate gave up halfway and significant intervention was required to help execute his vision and meet the project goal, the assignment was completed with pride, and turned out to be a perfect rainy day activity. Prices vary but most projects are under $35 at the time of writing, more for larger pieces, and includes everything (ceramic, painting, kiln firing). I wish there were some more choices but my child was happy with what he selected. The finished object would be ready to pick up in 10 days, and the senior official in charge was responsible for monitoring the schedule and ensuring timely retrieval of the gift. However, two weeks and an alarming question later ("so when are we supposed to get it?"), it was clear the directive had not been followed, and the Chairman of SteerCo was urged to "come along" on Mother's Day morning to support the final step and ensure deliverables are achieved within deadline. Once again, Sylvia met us as we picked up the finished project - which looks quite much nicer and different in its glazed and completed form than the raw material - and even kindly offered to take our family photo holding it. Artsy also offers workshops & classes, kids & adult paint or pottery parties, summer camp, and mobile events. Whether you want to paint something for yourself, make a gift for someone else, or just find something fun and crafty to do, I highly recommend them!

There were other customers who even arrived, waited at the front door for 5 minutes and then turned around and left due to no one being able to acknowledge them. Our party host did the best she could given the constraints. We've been to many other birthday parties here before and we did not have the same great experience hosting ours. I received an email a few days after the party asking for my feedback, which I filled out honestly. Never heard anything back. ‍ We will return to paint some pottery, but won't ever have a birthday party here.

Blair and Georgia were attentive throughout the entire three hours we were there. In short, I don't want my kids around these people again and I definitely will not be taking my kids back. I bought a Groupon in order to try it out. I called to find out if I needed to make an appointment because I wanted to come in on a weekend day. When I called, I was asked if I had a Groupon. That would have been a perfect time to tell me that with the Groupon, we were limited to painting only a cup, a bowl, or a plate, rather than any of the other numerous pottery items in the shop. I would have told my kids ahead of time and prepared them. But the owner (Valerie, I think) didn't say anything. We walked in, and my girls immediately ran over to the large selection of items. At that time, Valerie could have come up to me and said we had a limited selection on a Groupon. I would have spoken to my girls, and all would have been well. Again, she chose not to do that. Instead, she announces to my girls that they cannot choose any of the items they're looking at, that they have to choose from one of the plates, cups, or bowls along the walls. My girls, with betters manners than she apparently possesses, look confused but immediately accept her direction as the adult. I asked if I could ask why that was so, since the Groupon is for cash, and she tells me that she buys those three items in bulk and can't afford to give away the other items for half-price. (While I can accept that, I disagree with how she went about it.) Then she says in a rather unpleasant tone that "most people are more than happy" with the choices. Mind you, I was polite when I asked, and said nothing about how she had acted toward my kids because I wanted to maintain a calm, cordial atmosphere. Next, my 3 girls are painting their items. The co-owner, a man, comes up to my oldest and comments that how she is painting her bowl is very interesting and cool. He says nothing to my other two at all, completely ignoring them. Luckily, they are very proud of each other and take the opportunity to agree that her bowl is, in fact, very interesting. But that easily could have gone the other way with their feelings being hurt because he ignored them and only focused on one. And he's supposed to be around and interacting with children daily? Finally, it took 4 weeks to get the items. When I called the first time, Valerie asked if mine were the Groupon items and then said she didn't put those items in yet. When I called back again (the third time), she couldn't find one mug and it took a few days to locate it. Apparently, Groupon people treated are treated like second-class citizens. I get Groupons to try new places. The way Valerie treated me with a Groupon, that alone would be enough that I wouldn't go back. But I will not take my girls back there. They behaved better than the owners and they are 8 and 10. And when I left, the man had the never to say that I had to pay for was the "tax and gratuity."

Right at the entrance, there were seasonal items (Easter stuff everywhere around this time), followed by gardening and porch/patio décor, and it just kept going. Every aisle was a wow moment. We went in for a few basic décor items, maybe $10-$20 worth, and ended up spending over $300 on canvases, paintings, kitchen items, and more. I couldn't believe it! I absolutely cannot with this location of Hobby Lobby…read more I have a closer Hobby Lobby in East Hanover, and that location is always clean, well-stocked and never has a line. This location is an absolute mess. There's a rare situation when I'm in the area for work, realize I forgot something and have to pop in. 'Popping in' means spending around an hour, since there are a ton of shoppers here and they keep ONE register open. Not great Hobby Lobby. Will avoid at all costs unless it's a dire situation.
